"Oof!" Elise almost fell back when she had bumped into the girl, but that wasn’t the worst of it. Oh no, it was just the start of it. The sight of the… the goo on her clothes and in her hair made Elise scream as if someone was trying to murder her. Well, to her, being covered in something as unsightly as what was on her right that very moment was the equivalent of murder.

"W-What did you do!?”

Chelsea frowned as the girl screamed bloody murder. She didn't like being covered it in either.

"What did I do?" Her only crime had been walking outside this girl's door. "I was just headin' to clean myself up. Don't lose your panties over it, it's just a bit of pond muck." It was like she was covered head to toe in it like Chelsea.

Vaughn knew exactly how to handle matters like these, he had to deal with this all the time with animals, whether one of the horses had a rock or a splinter, or an animal biting another, he knew how to deal with blood and pain. Seeing her getting a little dizzy he knew that she was about to pass out, he could tell that  she needed a distraction.

"Maybe I should offer a bit of distraction" he suggested the moment that they got to the clinic and were told to wait outside so that the nurse could prepare herself. "Is this your first accident?" he asked though he was terrible at making small talk but that’s all he could think of at the moment.

Chelsea wobbly sat on the cot and tried to focus on Vaughn.

"Mmm... no," she shook her head. "I broke my arm... once... and.." her eyes shifted around the clinic as she thought about it. "And my horse threw me when I was little and I've had a few fights before...." mostly against boys who had teased her. "and I was definitely thrown off my skateboard the other day." Did that cover it? Probably not. 

"I'm not really graceful," she laughed weakly. Her eyes fell to her hand. Gosh that was a lot of blood...

I'm sorry I've been out so much. I'm wrapping up the end of my summer class and work is picking up. Plus I'll be moving into my apartment next month.

Vaughn didn’t even bother to listen to her comments, it didn’t bother him one bit. It wasn’t that he was stiff or anything it was for the simple fact that he wasn’t going to fall for this girl’s immaturities, he just wasn’t into that. She could complain all she wanted but he still wasn’t going to care, he knew what type of girl she really is and he honestly wanted no part in it.

Just as he was finishing his piece he noticed the blood and his eyes quickly widen before looking over towards her. He wanted to yell at her and tell why why wasn’t she being more careful but seeing all that blood, he quickly grabbed his handkerchief from his back pocket and tied it around her hand.

"You need to apply pressure" he said as he looked over for the teacher, "I’m going to take her to the clinic" he said before looking over at Chelsea and letting the anger just for a small moment melt away. "Come on I’ll take you the clinic so that it won’t get infected" he said in a calm tone.

Vaughn hated blood, just as much as he hated seeing people in pain. A small memory of his past came into mind and despite how annoying this girl was he wasn’t going to let her suffer.

Chelsea couldn't even protest. The cut was pretty deep and there was still blood seeping out, soaking through his handkerchief. Her shoulders shook with unshed tears, because that was the last thing Chelsea would do. Ever. Even with a deep cut in her hand.

She let Vaughn lead her outside and towards the clinic. Her hand was clutched close to her shirt, staining it as well. Why was there so much blood? It seemed to be everywhere. How deep was this cut? She was starting to feel a little lightheaded and stumbled in her foot steps.

Just when he was beginning to feel a little comfortable with this stranger, comfortable enough to show just a tiny bit of kindness to her by helping her and guiding her, she had to go ahead and open her mouth. This was why he enjoyed the silence, why he enjoyed being alone and not having to deal with people. It was just the things that they said and how they acted completely immature that annoyed.

"Of course you would know from experience, you are the expert" he said shaking his head and moving away from her not even bothering. If she messed up the project there was no way he was going to take any blame for it. If anything he would make the same piece and just replace hers with his.

"Just because you want to act like a know it all doesn’t mean you should risk getting a bad grade, this isn’t one of those class where you could flirt your way out of, some of us have to work hard to get good grades" he said coldly and continue to work alone.

Wow, this guy was really pissing her off. Couldn't he even take a joke?? "If you got the stick out of your ass maybe you'd know a joke when you heard one."

And then the flirting comment. She practically bristled. "What? You think I get by on my good looks? I wouldn't flirt with you if you begged me to!" 

She moved to grab the wood from him, determined to show him what she was made of. "Move aside, dweeb." Unfortunately, as she went for the wood, her hand slipped and went right across the blade, leaving a long, deep cut across her hand. Blood splattered across the table and no amount of willpower in the world could hold back the sharp scream she let out or the tears that formed in her eyes. She had just a enough willpower to keep her from breaking down into sobs of pain.

"You mean a demolition derby?" Charles’ grin would have fit on a super villain at that point, visions of cars being crushed and metal flying everywhere dancing through his brain.

"I should do something like that with the robotics club," he mused. "Wouldn’t that be the coolest? Everybody building robots and beating the crap out of each other?!"

Chelsea's grin was an eerie match for Charles'. She had much of the same ideas in mind as he was having. 

"You can do that??" She moved in front of him, making him stop walking. Her eyes were alight and she may have looked a little crazy. "We can make robots and get them to fight and beat the shit of out each other??" Chelsea didn't know the slightest thing about building robots but she could totally learn.

He listened to her as she talked about how she used to help her father with building things. Just the mere mention of family caused him to remember a time where he spent with his father, even if it was at a young age he was able to at least help him around the house. It was that memory that caused him to shut down yet again and continue to focus on his work. They were here to work not to talk about their past or even share any bit of information about each other.

They continued to work in silence before he noticed that the pieces that she was cutting were turning out to be a little to thin. “You’re making them too thin” he sighed as he made his way towards her and stood behind her. “The trick is not being afraid of making it too thick because you can always sandpaper it” he said as he helped her cut a thicker piece of wood.

And he went quiet again. This guy was so lame. Oh well, whatever. Chelsea was cutting wood!

She started in on her project eagerly, some part of her thinking something was off. Before she could pinpoint it, though, Vaughn came up and told her exactly what was wrong. 

Chelsea huffed. She turned to tell him off but stopped short, her mouth snapping shut. Why was he so close?? She moved aside to let him take over the saw. 

Before she could stop herself, she said "Usually rubbing wood makes it bigger." She made a hand motion like she was rubbing sandpaper against wood and grinned cheekily at him. Someday, Chelsea might get a filter on her mouth.

To Vishnal, it felt like he was more surrounded each second. That is, until everyone suddenly looked away. He followed their stares, and his mouth dropped open. 

The girl from the locker had stepped out, feet planted firmly on the ground, looking furious enough to make him shrink back against his locker for a moment. But he stood up straighter when he noticed she wasn’t looking at him, but at Aaron.

Vishnal shook his head, eyes wide, trying to communicate somehow that she shouldn’t say anything to him, that she should just leave, now, right now. But his panic turned to astonishment as she floored the boy, screaming in Vishnal’s defense. His mouth twitched in a momentary smile, as the entire locker room went silent, but fell when he realized she had been seen after all.

Well, that was it she supposed. Everyone saw her. No point in meekly walking out now.

"And the rest of you," she said, pointing to everyone. "Just standing there and watching it go on. You should all be ashamed! And also, none of you are very attractive to look at in the locker room anyway! This has undoubtedly been the worst decision I've made since coming here. I'd rather watch the girls undress!"

And with that, she left, head held high and refusing to look at anyone else.

Hiro was a bit unsettled by how close Chelsea had gotten, but he knew that she was simply excited. However, he could not blame her. In fact, he was a bit excited himself for this cake-to-be.

"Haha, well, perhaps we should take baby steps first," he said, laughing lightly. "If all ends as planned, then I’m sure that we would be able to create whatever we may like." 

He scratched the bottom of his chin and reached for a pen in his pocket. Once he had it in his grip, he gently patted his pen once on both of Chelsea’s shoulders. “Well then…I dub thee Chels, my loyal partner in this quest to manifest this stallion-themed cake.”

As Hiro 'knighted' her, she grinned cheekily. "And it shall be the best cake that ever graced the realm! People from far and wide will come to see it and try to taste it's deliciousness, but they shall not be worthy of the brilliance of our cake! We shall create a gauntlet for those who wish to partake of it. Hopefully, a war does not start over the beautiful decadence this cake will represent." Ok, so Chelsea had a habit of embellishing things here and there.

"When shall we embark on this epic quest, my comrade in arms?" Her arm swung around his shoulder.

Denny was eased to have heard that everything was alright with her skateboard. Heck, if anything happened to his own skateboard, then he wouldn’t know what to do (except for, perhaps, ask his dad for money to fix and replace it before trying to fix and replace it himself).

Though he didn’t know who this Dirk person was, he didn’t want to butt in, so he simply continued on. “Welp, that’s great to hear! I mean, I hope you don’t die and all, but like, glad to hear that your board’s hanging in there.”

He put a hand in his pocket. “Where were ya’ headed to, anyhow? You looked like you were in a rush.”

"Oh, no where really. I was just skatin'." She held up the board for emphasis.

"What period is it?" 

She didn't even know. She looked around the area. There were people out so it was probably between classes. Right?

"Hi, I’m Charles," he shook her hand and grinned. "Pleasure to meet you. And yes, if I can. Though this is supposed to be engine and other such work in class. I’m going to see if I can get over to the metal shop and sculpt some of the car’s body. I obviously can’t build it from scratch, but I can do a ton of modifications to my assignment car.!"

Her eyes were practically sparkling. "That's gonna be awesome! I should do something cool with my car's body..." she scratched her chin in thought. Of course, she'd have to get everything down first but how hard could it be? She'd totally understand it after a few classes she was sure.

"I wonder if we'll get to do something similar to monster cars," she wondered aloud. Monster Zombie Smashing car. That would be beyond awesome.

[text] Quick head up, that our club isn't going to be very active for a while. The principal's really pissed at me, so I have detention for until he says i can stop coming. So don't expect to see much of me either. I had to send this before my bro finds out and takes away my life... and my phone. Lates Dudette

Chelsea's phone went off and she curiously pulled it out. Who would be messaging her?

She read over the message with a growing sense of disbelief and sadness.

Frustrated, she kicked the nearest object, a rock, and watched it go sailing across the lawn. What idiot thing had happened to that.. that idiot?? There was no point in text him back, she supposed, since it seemed like he was about to lose his phone. Maybe she could visit him in his room during the night?

"Wow," Elli said, imagining little Chelsea riding a great big stallion around. Running a ranch was hard work. There was a lot of chores that needed to be done. More so than a bakery, that’s for sure. "That’s impressive," Elli replied, "Sounds like you’ll have a lot of work cut out for you."

When they reached the room Elli smiled when Chelsea opened the door for her. “Thank you,” she said walking in.

Chelsea followed her in and flopped down on her bed immediately, kicking her legs in the air. 

"So what are you going to be doing the rest of the day, Elli?" Reading that book? Studying? Chelsea really had no plans herself and could already feel a bout of boredom coming on.

"So… weapon storage within the vehicle to be used upon exit? That could work. And obviously mounting something on the top would be a horrible idea. In all honesty, I’d be more worried about the living than the un-dead at that point. People can be bad news."

Pulling a piece of gum from the pack he kept in his pocket, he popped it into his mouth and started chewing furiously.

"I don’t want to add too much to it. Using up oil like that in an apocalyptic setting is terribly wasteful. I can get away with the gas because it’s generated and refined in a way that nearly anyone can replicate."

Maybe he was taking this a little too seriously, but the crazy engineer in him just couldn’t let it go.

Chelsea nodded. Truthfully, she hadn't thought if it might be wasteful or not, she had just been thinking of cool ways to kill zombies.

"So are you actually building a car like this? Like, legit physically building it?" She eyed him. Oh wait, did she even have his name?? "Oh, I'm Chelsea by the way. You can call me Chels if you like." She held out her hand to shake his.

All he wanted to do was finish this project so that he could leave early and head back to this dorm room and get started on his other assignment for another class. That’s all he wanted, that’s all he wanted to be focused on but from the looks of it this girl was not going to make it easy. Taking a deep deep breath as he paused his work for just a moment letting his thoughts sink in causing him to realize that maybe he shouldn’t be too rough. Last thing he needed was for her to get angry and then destroy the whole project all together.

“Yes I have, what about yourself?” he asked before getting back to work on making sure that the base was set before he started to work on the structure all together and the design of the clock wanting to be just a little more creative than usual. “Also if you want you can get started on cutting the wood for the walls” he suggested figuring maybe just for a moment he would be a little polite.

"Well, not directly, but I watched my 'pa build a barn once. He let me help out with the small stuff since I was young. I mostly just like working with my hands." She added a piece to their clock, focusing on setting it just right.

Just as she got the piece to stay, she almost knocked it over when she heard Vaughn's statement. "Really?? You don't mind???" She had expected him to take that job too. "I'd love to do it!" She hurried over to the sheet that listed the dimensions the wood need to be cut at. She grabbed a measuring tape while carefully studying the numbers and directions. She wasn't going to mess this up!
