A lot of discourse happened about Hudson's Italy photo dump yesterday, but since I wasn't home then I wanted to add my thoughts today!
Bottom line up front: The only thing hard launching with that post is H and K being best friends, nothing more and nothing less.
Let's start with what Hudson ACTUALLY showed us, not what we THINK it means but what was in the post? He showed a selfie of him and K where he's making a duck face at the camera and K is smiling, and a video of him, Connor, and K eating ice cream in Venice (presumably before the Olympic Torch Relay). His caption was all emojis, none of which were anything super relationship-y.
Now that H has publicly posted with K (in what are very friendly pics imo), people are taking it to mean the most widespread rumor about H+K dating is true. There are A LOT of assumptions being made with this statement.
First, the continued assumption that the "My roommate's BF" tiktok meant that Chelsea was rooming with K, BF = boyfriend, and that the caption was meant to be taken literally with no other context (more on that and everything else with Hudson and K here). Second, that the fact that Hudson posted K is him confirming the rumors about them, and not just any rumors but ONLY the gf/bf rumors about them. We know Hudson didn't say he and K are dating, and even his liking of the gf and bf comment came off as him being a chaos demon more than anything else lol. So, since we know he didn't say anything about the rumors at all, let's look at the other content to see what we can glean from it.
The selfie of him and K. Y'all can probably already guess my opinion on it, but this photo is once again giving me best friend vibes and zero romantic ones.
Coincidentally, it looks very similar to the photo of Connor and his best friend, Bailey, together released the day before by a mutual friend.
The video of H, C, and K sharing ice cream together in Venice. I don't actually have much to say about this because it really is a nothing burger to me in terms of H+K "proof." It was a great way to show that Connor gets along with and is loved by H's friends/best friend. Which is notable for other reasons that I won't get into here (#noticing). As far as the video itself, it was cute to see Connor and K interact and joke around! But again, you don't see much in terms of any interaction between Hudson and K and therefore I don't see anything inherently romantic or a "hard launch" in that video or anything else in the post either.
Conclusion: Hudson is continuing to be private about his life, but he's not keeping important people a secret at all. It is evident there's no awkwardness and also full acceptance between Connor and K. Hudson and K are best friends and that's evident here as well (and the fact that she will most likely spend time with him on his b-day too). Which makes a lot more sense to me than the hard launch angle, given the things Hudson has said about Connor's place in his life in the past, that would seem to intercept a separate romantic relationship.
I'll end this with what is seemingly my favorite quote these days:
"Anything that happens in the future does not change what happened in the past."
Even if we just look at Italy - despite what people are interpreting H's photo dump as - it is still in fact the case that not only did Connor and Hudson LIGHT UP when they saw each other (when they had spent the entire day together and would be doing so after as well), but they also left alone together and were all over each other in the car after the relay. And that matters a lot too.
