Actually, no, I don't think that friendships dropping like flies in your late 20s and early 30s because no one has time for that between overwork and family obligations and marriage and kids and partners and the ritual of the time slayer is normal and ok. No I don't think deep conversations and spontaneous adventures being replaced with a tired coffee every six months is a normal part of growing up. I don't think that emotional intimacy and soul bonds disintegrating in the face of practical inconvenience is a fact of life. I think that means something is deeply deeply wrong with our society and I will never forgive it for the friends I've lost

Well, that answers that regarding the elf stones, I guess.
THAT MEANS WRONGO'S GOT THEM. THIS ISN'T GOOD

sleep paralysis demons HATE him. this cartoonist discovers one weird trick to make them go away every time.
see when people try and nitpick me because i call my dog "my dog" when it's technically "the family dog".......well first of all i still call my brother "my brother" and not "the family boy". although maybe that should change. second of all sorry i'm still thinking about the family boy. btw i fell asleep while making this post last night and i think you can tell

Why do kiwis have such massive fucking eggs āitās because they are related to ostriches and-ā yeah ok but like why didnāt they evolve smaller eggs if I was in charge I would do that shit pronto. Thoughts?
their big eggs are actually that size for a similar reason to human babies having massive heads!! being bigger at birth can be important.
kiwi are trying SO HARD to become mammals. fur-like feathers, whisker-like feathers, little beady eyes, nocturnal, great sense of smell.... that's basically a mammal!! they're well suited for life on the forest floor.
their big eggs work alongside these adaptations to give them a leg up in the bird world. their young hatch already feathered! they're precocial, which means they're born with the ability to open their eyes and move around. like foals.
big egg = more powerful offspring from the get-go. babies don't need to spend precious time vulnerable while they develop on the ground when they've already done all that in the egg!
(unfortunately, with the introduction of mammals to aotearoa, these adaptations are a little less useful...)
Important addition: baby kiwi come out of the egg looking like they've come out of a shower with a hangover
They look like one of the downsides of emerging from an egg fully formed is how aware you are off just having come out on egg. First minute alive, already dealing with some fucking experience.

Hey punkitt. Writing in again, and this time I have a weird but urgent request. If you donāt want to post this thatās totally ok I just am trying to get as many Puget Sound eyes on this as possible in the hopes someone is able to help.
Do you know anyone IRL who is able to foster cats? The Tacoma/Pierce County Humane Society just received (no joke) 60 cats from a boat anchored in commencement bay this week, and then another 20 from an abandoned car.
They are, predictably, in DESPERATE need of foster homes, because they donāt have room for them all. If you know anyone who can help, please ask them to reach out to the Tacoma & Pierce County Humane Society! Thank you so much.
PS: Also, fun fact, the Lushootseed name for the puget sound is whulge/whulj (xĢŹ·ÉlÄ) (wanted to end on a high note here)
I'll put this out here! :> Anyone who wants to help?
