Personal blog. U.S Army; disabled veteran, Forestry Engineer student, I want to be a park-Ranger (Pacific-Northwest) Lumbersexual with mild Dendrophilia, Everyone calls me Robot "So I somehow convinced my friend [my best friend!] to write this for me: Simply put Robot is a 23 (pretty sure He's 23) year old veteran. he would like to get into a profession where he inform others about the environment. Because yelling at strangers in a the park is apparently "disturbing the peace" His humor ranges from dry to sarcastic to childish to not funny at all. He experiments in many different art forms, but unfortunately has not had to much time to be creative lately. Or hasn't wanted to. Either way you should make him do art more. With his intelligence he could probably be an Evil Villian [or POTUS], but he is way too lazy. He's the smartest dumb person I know. He also remembers pretty much everything. It's kind of annoying. He's pretty cool though I guess." [This message paid for In part by friends4robots llc, Heather Hulbert, and readers like you...]
fly-casually replied to your post “Can you explain the LIGHTNING thing?”
According to Nye and Tyson, lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun! (Not inside it, of course.)
at 30,000 kelvin (53,540 degrees Fahrenheit) lightning is hotter then the surface of the sun, its coolest layer, but power is energy per second, a lightning strike lasts tens of microseconds
lightning is very survivable 30-40 people are hit every year in the us/uk and of them less than 4 were fatalities, being killed by lightning in the US in any given year is 1 in 1.9m and the odds of being struck in your lifetime is 1 in 12,000.
Park Ranger, Roy Sullivan held(holds?) a Guinness World Record after surviving seven different lightning strikes over 35 years in Shenandoah National Park
getting struck by lightning will always remain at the top of my (unrealistic) bucket list.
Like many people I over romanticize the destructive forces in nature, and am kinda turned on by them...
But, I've tamed fires
learned how to swim
and strong winds remind me of the times I've flown*,
But Bolts of electricity from the sky are the scariest thing in nature! The wrath of Zeus shits all over bears and cougars, ill punch a bear right in its cute face! It won’t matter if you are walking along an exposed ridge, fleeing down into a valley, or just sitting in your tent – all activities are terrifying in a thunderstorm. According to NOAA website, “you are not safe anywhere outside” during a thunderstorm. Lightning strikes without prejudice.
Plus, It leaves cool scars, Like getting a tattoo from nature
I hate to admit it, but food-photography; while annoying, is probably a healthy life style, to always be thinking about how your foods look may lead to better choices, like bold colors of vegetables and less glossy brown grease fried meats.
I’m going to try it for a week, and see if I make better decisions then 7 sloppy McDonald’s steak bagels,
I like it because when people post delicious looking things..I can be “Hey, can you give me the recipe for that?” and who the hell says no to that? like nobody…unless its like a top secret family recipe in which i just throw money at them and they make it for me,
Thank you for sharing this with me: There are several non-profits that provide crafts designed to restore coordination and impaired motor skills, improve attention spans and concentration, and relieve symptoms of depression, post-traumatic stress disorder and other conditions< and places that use crafts as a diversional therapy and recreational outlet for Veterans in every state,
as well as vacation retreats and hundreds of other activits (largely out doors:hunting, fishing, wild game) that cater to post-military culture,
one of my personal favorites being the WARRIOR HIKE “walk off the war”
For the first time in ~5 years on this site I un-ironically wanted to tag a post #ME, and i started to feel bad about myself, but maybe if i put it out there I can be YOUR Manic-Pixie-Dream Girl ;), I don’t like Chopin but ill play you Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky if you ask...
There needs the be laws in place to protect certain movies, you can make as many sequels, pre-quels, re-makes, and re-imaginings as you want as long as you don’t touch
