You must understand that the slight you feel at any criticism of your traditions is not unique to you - a Latino may feel so slighted as easily as an American might, or an Asian, or an European.

Ignorance is rarely a defense. Foreigners are often ill-received, I understand, not because of your race but because you are rather famous for not caring to even hear of the customs of the other races that host you, let alone adapt to them.

I mean no insult, but it would not hurt you to consider showing others' history and practice a fraction of the respect you show your own.

Legitimate *pro bono legal services* don’t exist without a good reason. In a few of the exmormon groups I’m in you’ll see regular posts saying stuff like “Look what my lawyer sent me today!” with a pic of their resignation confirmation letter from the church.

Ex mormon here - this guy’s legit. The Mormon holds your files for eternity, and when they find out that you’ve moved to a new area, they will send members and missionaries from that region to harass you. I know this sounds like dystopic bullshit, but they followed my father through three moves before he rejoined the church.

Also ex mormon here who used this. It’s a ridiculously helpful service that is incredibly easy to use. They keep you updated throughout the whole process, and it’s totally worth it since the church doesn’t get to keep all your private information and pass it around once you resign :)

ive rb’d this post before but i will every time i see it.

I haven’t used it yet for Long Reasons but i will eventually and i know many people who have. Its legit and its FANTASTIC. the process can take months, but you don’t do any of the fighting. Doing it alone can take much longer, and you have to jump through 10 million hoops and suffer loads of guilt tripping, threats, and gaslighting. With quitmormon, you just fill out the paperwork, wait several months, and its done, no fuss or fight.

The existence of this site means lots to me because it’s an easy escape route for other victims of this legitimate fucking cult. I’d super appreciate if y'all would help spread the word because millions of exmormons out there dont realize this is something they can do, and as long as the church has your records, they will continue to stalk and harass you for the rest of your life, even if you move ten times and never give them your new address.

My dad told me recently that the most important public health workers are garbage collectors and janitors. So much of our health relies on a clean environment. These people do some of the most important work in society. If we learned in dirty public environments full of garbage, we’d all be sick. I cannot thank these people enough for the valuable work that they do.
