Portland, Easter 2024
I’m back in recovery. Sobriety is a little bleak. I start naltrexone in a couple weeks. I have to create my own excitement. My friends are there, but they’re busy with adult shit. Alcohol ruined my life, but that’s not to say I don’t have everything I need. I’m buying my own car this summer and I plan to get my own apartment in a couple years. Still no girlfriend or boyfriend. Stay at home stacking my chips. Considering summer school so I can start on my Masters in Philosophy. Sobriety is boring, but it is safe and sustainable. Sobriety will help me to shed some pounds at least. Nobody can love me until I start to love me. Buckle up. It’s going to be a quiet ride.

Never My Mentor
I suppose we started praying to different gods,
and drift apart.
Still in my heart, but it feels like a dart.
Kiss the pain away like the lips of Judas.
Both of us knew this. Never the same.
Enjoy your holidays. Enjoy your celebrity.
Thanks for the charity. Throw it away.
Soft for Seattle
Few enough lasts forever
Time together
Taking shelter
On sheets and cloths
Off come the sweaters
On winter break
At winter camp
In my room
I gift you pins
Love is not sin
I felt it rude not to consume
Your splendor
Now pleasure wins
In all her nectar
I won't forget you
