Funny tinfoil hat theory about The Vampire Lestat, concerning Chekov's Raglan placed there in the very first scene of the first episode of TVL. We all pretty much agree that it's probably not Raglan himself in Raglan's body, right?

WHAT IF Raglan has bodyswitched with Gabriella?
*dun-dun-DUUUUN*
This is SO DUMB but I love it.
Bear with me for a sec, but please don't take it too seriously. I just enjoy thinking about it and what a messed up, absolute flippin' blast it would be:
A body switch could explain the kinda over the top, unlikeable Gabriella that is indeed very different from the books (although that is most likely just a choice BUT have patience... x'D). Because... if it's not actually her, at least some of the times in the modern day scenes, then she would be a bit... extra.
Would be very funny if both Raglan's and Gabriella's accents also were a bit Extra because they both try to imitate the other and it's just a liiiittle bit over the top (shhh let's ignore Gabs' strong accent in the past scenes, roll with me, it's funny)
Raglan would like to be a powerful vamp, we know that from The Tale of the Body Thief. And what vamp is more powerful than the one who will most likely be at Akasha's side once she rises? (You know who~)
How to get Lestat to body switch with you if you're Raglan? Answer: Be his MOM. Whom he trusts even though she doesn't deserve it. If Raglan asks/tries with Lestat directly, as himself, a switch is gonna be difficult, Lestat's going to resist. If "MOM" however suggests a body switch once Lestat is recruited (again lol) and got the new job for Akasha, however... Lestat might say yes if it means he thinks Gabs'll stay with him and not leave again.
Gabriella seems very pro vamp dominion and knows how shitty women has been/are/can be treated. She prolly wouldn't mind a female vampire dominated world, and has already spoken of vampire leaders. The theories already go around that she has something to do with furthering Akasha's cause. And she is. Only maybe, sometimes, it's Raglan, because he wants it too~
Gabriella probably also wouldn't mind being in a male body. Even more freedom! Not having to be seen as a woman! Yay!
Her disappearing for short times during this season might be her chatting/plotting with Raglan, possibly making him into a vamp already in preparation for moving into his body permanently.
Raglan might have gained info about Gabriella both from the Talamasca archives and from Gabs herself, if she's in on the plan. Like, here's everything you have do say and do to convince my son you are actually me, totally worth it for Akasha vamp dominion~
We see now-Gabriella in Lestat's for-Daniel-only scenes with Nicki. If she's his fledgling she wouldn't be able to read his mind and see some of these things, so why is she there; as an illusion for Daniel by Lestat, too? Well, IF she's actually Raglan at that point, maybe his mind can read Lestat's and would explain why she's there? I have no idea. I'm just rambling at this point.
In ep 5, Gabs asks Lestat specifically about which time he means when he asks why she left him. Maybe real Gabs would have guessed/known. Ragliella/Gablan, however, has to ask Lestat to specify which time...
Repeating: Raglan appearing in the first scene means SOMETHING very important, not matter what/who it will be related to in ep 7 (or s4 if they already knew they've got it while writing the s3 script, but are keeping it a secret). Lestat? Daniel?? Gabriella??? We must get some kind of resolution concerning Chekov's Raglan by the end of this season. 🖤

So I need everyone to know something I discovered about the passage that Lestat reads in the latest episode, the one supposedly by St. Thomas Aquinas:
This excerpt is not, in fact, from the works of St. Thomas Aquinas, which Lestat would have studied in his brief time at the monastery! It is taken from the poem "We Are Fields Before Each Other" by Daniel Ladinsky, who published a collection of poems called Love Poems From God in 2002, in which he writes poems under the persona of various philosophers, mystics, and religious figures. There's a whole section dedicated to Aquinas.
Now this excerpt is out there on the internet falsely attributed to St. Thomas Aquinas, A LOT. Who can say if this is an error, or a deliberate bit of fun from the writers (the past and the present overlapping, rewriting one another, etc. - Lestat is speaking to a hallucination of his ten year old self after all). Either way, I'm pretty obsessed.
I'm including the rest of the poem below, for fun and context:
"During their first scene together this season, Lestat and Louis seem to have found an equilibrium. It’s probably sometime around 2022 or 2023, not long after their reunion in the season 2 finale. Lestat is noodling away on the piano in a beautifully accessorized Montreal apartment, while Louis provides commentary via videochat, proclaiming Lestat's new music to be (underwhelmingly) “nice.” Lestat asks him to visit, but Louis maintains his boundaries. This show. For real. ❤ I never cease to be amazed by the attention to detail that has been put into it, and how big and small payoffs can come years later to big and small things that were put into motion or presented much earlier. It's brilliant.
Lestat's recollection of Detroit is honestly so fucking funny and definitely inaccurate at some parts
