arcane fandom with Caitlyn Kiramman:
I'd even go as far as to say that the people who constantly minimize Cait's trauma and guilt with classist arguments are often the very same people who defend every single one of Silco's decisions.
I must clarify that I love Silco's character. He's one of the best-written and most interesting characters in the series. But that doesn't exempt him from being a hypocrite: The moment there was a power vacuum after Vander's death, Silco took control of Zaun in the worst possible way; He flooded the very people he claimed to love with the Shimmer; He became the leader of a criminal organization that operated across multiple networks throughout the Undercity; Not to mention that the workforce in his factories consisted of children.
I also can't take seriously the people who defend him simply because he belongs to the oppressed side of society. And don't even get me started on those who claim he didn't manipulate Jinx all those years, because it makes me want to bang my head against the wall in frustration.
Yes, the series makes it clear that he genuinely loved her like a daughter. But he also nurtured her trauma because it mirrored his own, keeping her emotionally dependent on his affection and validation. At no point did he show even the slightest remorse for his actions. He never hesitated, even when his choices meant condemning Zaun even further.
Caitlyn made many mistakes after her mother's death, but she was able to acknowledge them and fight until the very end for what has always defined her: justice. Despite coming from a prestigious family, despite the fact that she could have stayed safely behind the walls of her mansion, she chose to help Zaun, Piltover—to help everyone. Not because she was seeking forgiveness, but because it was the right thing to do.

I missed Bat Caitlyn 🦇 ✏️
Wait! This AU makes more sense than it seems!
Bruce and Caitlyn both come from wealthy and influential families in their respective cities. They each suffered a family loss that they use as a catalyst to deliver (or what they believe to be) justice. They rely on advanced technology, are extremely analytical, throw themselves into their work to an unhealthy degree, and emotionally distance themselves from their loved ones to avoid getting hurt again.
This got me thinking: if Vi exists in this universe, could she take on a role similar to Selina's? Both come from very humble backgrounds and have been stealing from wealthy neighborhoods since they were preteens out of necessity. It's true that Selina has a much more seductive charm than Vi, but Vi can be flirtatious in her own way and might laugh at the vigilante chasing her every night, as if it were all just a game to her.
If any author ever wrote something like this set in the world of The Batman (2022), the Batman: Arkham universe, or any other Batman setting, I'd be more than interested in reading it 🙏🏼🦇
(Writing this just gave me another idea! What if we adapted the Absolute Batman universe and had Vi take on the role of the Bat? In that universe, Bruce is working class, barely scraping by, possesses immense strength earned through rigorous training, and is far more violent than most versions of Batman we've seen before!) 💪🏼🤤
