Thinking in light of Miguel’s revelation that Miles was never supposed to be a Spider-Man, that his Peter was never supposed to meet him and that his whole story was never supposed to happen, of the absolute awe and hope in Peter’s voice in the first movie when he looked at Miles and said “You’re like me.” Chris Pine only had like ten lines in that movie but he nailed the most important one to the fucking wall. That single bolt of hope and belief that he wouldn’t be alone—the whole series is built on that shared yearning across all the spider-folk, that they don’t have to be alone.
