"You know what? Now that you mention it, he does look like Baltie! Aww, now I cant unsee it! He looked so much more like me when he was little. Oh, this is all Baltie's fault for spending too much time around him back then; I'm sure of it!"

Does Holst dote on him?

"Yeah, he dotes alright... If it was up to him? I'd have been spoiled absolutely rotten. But, hey, I won't say no to some praise and a few gifts here and there. Only thing that annoys me is when he starts expecting things from me just cause I'm good at stuff. Being capable just runs in the family, but that doesn't mean I gotta like it."

Is he close friends with Soraya just like Hilda and Claude are?

"Raya? Oh-ho, yeah. That's my girl right there! We go waaaay back. This is, she's always got some new mischief to make and, well, I can't say it isn't fun every time. Nobody parties like Raya and I mean nobody. And if you want to try your hand at changing my mind? Ahaha... good luck, friend."

You know, I kinda find it fascinating that even though Fódlan is very European-inspired and Almyra is very Arabic-inspired, the ancient Nabateans, who supposedly arrived in Fódlan from "somewhere else" are named after the real-life Nabateans, an ancient Arabic civilization that existed in what is now modern-day Jordan.

When you combine that with the fact that the Nabateans are a race of dragon-like beings and that wyverns/wyvern riding are highly revered in Almyran culture, it makes me wonder if Sothis and the Nabateans might have some kind of historical connection to Almyra?

I'm not sure what that connection could be. Maybe the Progenitor God originally existed in Almyra, but later decided to move to Fódlan for whatever reason. Maybe they simply grew bored and wanted to explore new lands or maybe they were driven out, which would explain why no one really worships the Goddess in present day Almyra. Since all of this would have happened during the equivalent of the Neolithic era, there would be no surviving records of it, but the remnants of the Nabateans' presence might still be visible in Almyran culture, such as the reverence for wyverns and how the Almyran soldiers wear green as their uniform (as well as Claude's route being called Verdant Wind).

In fact, I remember once making a post theorizing about why the language of Fódlan is also spoken natively in the westernmost part of Almyra, even though the people there are separated from the rest of Fódlan by a massive mountain range and someone mentioned that they like to headcanon that those mountains were created by Sothis herself without regards to the people living there, probably because she wanted a fresh start away from the previous civilization she and the other Nabateans came from.

ooh very interesting take. i wonder if that would contribute at all to the animosity between fodlan and almyra? ive always thought it was interesting how so many almyrans are wyvern riders, while the only wyvern riders in fodlan are claude, cyril (from almyra), seteth (nabatean), and ladislava. she’s the only off one out. even as enemies, pegasus knights are more common iirc. you might be onto something there.
