Elite season 3 was a complete mess but the moment I absolutely lost it was when Polo got out of the pool completely naked in front of his mothers and then proceeded to act as if nothing was wrong when they had literally just caught him in a threesome

Anybody else revel in how èlite is the trashiest show you’ve ever watched but it’s like the a+ quality trash? So much so that I gotta admit, this season was a trainwreck and a half but my fucking GOD was that ending perfect.

Often, when characters act sh!tty in a way that was never a part of their character b4, i step outside of the show and blame the writers. I blame the writers for omar this season. Whether subconsciously or consciously I don't think they cared as much about omar's character development. Simple things like: Ander hidding his diagnosis from Omar longer& Malick being less sexual pursuit, more emotional support and a confession&apology to Ander would have been in keeping w who Omar has been

Oh I agree 100%! Sadly they didn’t go for that, which would have made more sense and made their reunion feel less surface level. Because honestly their reunion included no actual talk/resolution and felt fake.

Now I look at them and feel like they don’t really like each other all that much. It feels like when married couples grow apart and you know they love each other but God they shouldn’t be together cos they would be happier with someone else. The season literally left me hoping a new character would come along to treat Ander like he deserves and one he would clearly feel better with (because I don’t think Ander actually like Omar’s personality all that much). Sometimes couples that are opposites really attract (like Mickey and Ian in Shameless), but this season just made it very clear to me that it doesn’t appear to work like that for Omar and Ander.

But the problem I have with it is that while I blame the writer’s for Omar’s shitty writing this season, his character now has that stain on his story. And regardless, if their writing made me think he was a good character in the first and second season, then their writing has made me dislike him in season 3. I understand that people are annoyed that the writing was bad for Omar, but it doesn’t really matter because the writing, whether we like it or not, is the cannon of the show. And in Elite Season 3 Cannon, Omar cheated and never took responsibility for it. And I don’t like that. I don’t know, maybe they’ll write him better if he’s in season 4.

This is just my opinion though. I do agree with you guys about the poor writing.

Quick Question

How the hell is Omar at Las Encinas? His family don’t have the money and the only reason Nadia was there was because she won a scholarship for her smarts, which we know Omar doesn’t have (at least not to the same degree).

Also, Rebekah literally sold drugs at the school? She didn’t get held back like Ander for failing tests, she literally sold drugs and got expelled? How is she allowed back?

Also also, Guzman and Samuel also got expelled. Expelled doesn’t mean “held back a year”, it means kicked out of the school.

Okay, so I DO understand the argument that what Omar did was out of character, but regardless that is now still part of the character’s story. He really turned around and cheated on Ander while he had cancer. And i get it, Ander was a dick in season 2 and even for an episode or two this season but what Omar did...

It wasnt even the sex that got me. It was the fact that they kept saying and building up that Omar was clearly falling for Malick in a non-sexual way. He referred to being with Ander as a prison. He never actually admitted to Ander that he cheated. He got annoyed at his sister for being upset he slept with her boyfriend, and used the argument that “we all make mistakes, you have too”. He got angry and blamed Ander when he lied and said he cheated, even though he was currently doing the same damn thing. When Ander revealed he didn’t really cheat, Omar STILL didn’t own up to cheating, he got angry at Ander instead. Even during their reunion, he was all “i’ll always come back to you”... and STILL didn’t apologise for cheating.

I loved Omar in season 2, and i thought Ander was a dick to him. But Ander actually apologised, and acknowledged that he was unfairly mean to Omar and Omar only, and then worked to change that. When he was dying and saw an opportunity for Omar to be happy, even if it made his final days hell, he took it. He took the blame and became the bad guy, the “cheater”, so that Omar could be happy with Malick. And even after everything, Omar still never even said the words to Ander, never acknowledged and actually came clean to Ander that he cheated.

Controversial opinion though it may be, I’m so disappointed in Omar. I didn’t even want him and Ander back together because frankly, until Omar actually admits and apologises for what he did, Ander deserves better.

Note for the fans : I know everyone has reasons to be angry and anyone should really do what they want on their own blog and also that constructed criticism can be cathartic AND that it can really really feel bad when something you have a lot of emotions invested in disappoints you. That said, social media and especially tumblr can be an amplifier of emotion in a way that can be quite unhealthy.

I hope you can all remember to practice some self care, take a step back if you need to and take care of your mental health. If anything s3 will always exist as a beautiful complete story that stands on its own. Writers make choices from their own limited perspectives and they don't hold great definitive truths about the universe.

And honestly I feel some story choices deserve silence and disinterest more than sustained anger, which is still engagement.
