Not surprised I never advertised it, I kept holding to make an animatic, but!!! I'm super proud of this cover, man. Even though it was sung almost a year ago haha. I can't keep refining it forever, though.

Someone told me on my Curses cover from years ago that I didn't sound desperate enough. I fully agreed. I still haven't gotten to the level with myself as an artist or a person to truly reach into the depths of those feelings, I'm not ready to actually feel them. But I hope this one acknowledges them more openly.

every single day I think about how american black vultures are known for engaging in interspecific allopreening (preening between different species)

and they have a specific relationship with crested caracaras, in which the black vultures assist them by not only preening them after meals but also leading them to food in the first place— due to their superior sense of smell— while the caracaras assist the black vultures by acting as a warning signal in case of danger

and while this is more typical of black vultures, this is not common at all for any member of the falconidae family— it’s a special bond!

yet another post in favor of vultures everyone , hope you enjoy:) and I implore you to do some more research on these incredible birds !!

okay not to ocpost again but the worst thing about having an oc is sometimes they become The Character to you. and you need to talk to someone about it like wow I can’t stop thinking about The Character… but in order to do so you have to like sit them down and explain everything about your oc first. and then it’s just you explaining your writing ideas. i need to talk about them the same way i would talk about any random character i love to someone.

This is meant to be a finger puppet rather than a plush, though it could be adapted into one of those too! I'll have a free pattern up for this guy eventually!

Part 5 -> Part 6 (FINISH!)

ROCKY IS ALIVE!!! I've just finished him and it's been such a fun process. Being able to make a thing by hand is just sooo satisfying, I could have 3D printed him, and yeah he would have probably been more accurate. But making him from scratch with literally blood, sweat and a couple of tears have given me soo much crafting joy. And getting to finally paint him just made him so real.

The painting process was the most fun part, I always remember Adam Savage' quote when weathering a prop; "I know it might look great to you right now with 2 colours on it, always put that third colour in, it will always make you happier." And it's soo true! My Rocky has browns, reds, greys, and for every colour added he's become more and more alive.

Oh and I made a tshirt for my Ryland Grace outfit as well!

Humans are weird: fibers.

We all fucking LOVE fibers. We wear them. Eat them. We use hypothetical fibers to explain the unexplainable. We make ART with them - not just the obvious crocheting or needle felting or sewing. Guitars, brushes, all these things. STRING THEORY. And all the media tropes, like the red string of fate. Humanity is obsessed with fiber.

We use them to make little cup phones to talk with your friend in the treehouse and also the entire* worlds communication infrastructure relies on the fact that we can blink a light really fast on one end and see it on the other.

*there are obviously exceptions, but the point is if we suddenly had to abandon fiberoptic cable we'd be so fucking shit outta luck immediately

More Art fight! This time we have an attack on @blueberrypodoboo ! The moment I saw this odd jester, I knew I had to give drawing him a go! I REALLY love the outcome too. There were so many little details I'm so proud of!
