Elena Wuest - An Afternoon Tea II, 2026 - Oil on canvas
currently writing a fic and every few hours im like "oh god what have i done ive ruined a perfectly fine plot" the next hour im like "no this is fine, im fine, there's still hope though no promises" but always, ALWAYS im like "Why Does Plot Keep Cock-blocking My Porn It's Been Sixteen Thousand Words"
Sorry couldn’t connect…try again?
found this at an antique shop the other day and was immediately like oh this belongs on tumblr. sniles sneetly. fwowns fwangry.
hey I made this post on a community asw so pls don't report me if ur seeing it twice lol anyways here's the dilemma:
I'm writing a fic atm - historical romance with lots of politics. each constellation represents a nation which means Asgard, Eden and Olympus are all specific kingdoms and empires. I want to add papyrus and vedas to the mix asw but instead of using their given names, I want to use actual historical places in place so like Pompei instead of Papyrus and Harappan instead of Vedas.
do yall think that's a good idea or should I keep them as they are?

chapter 7 pt2
the next time she got a call from han sooyoung was not too long after her most recent meeting with hyunsung. when she hung up the call, the words rolled around her head for a solid minute, a minute too long to register. once they did, she rushed through her morning routine, barely washing out her toothpaste before sprinting towards the door, putting on the nearest jacket she could find.
god, this could not be happening right now.
she found everyone had already gathered in dokja's living room, one she had cleaned, had scrubbed off its dirt and grim and unease of being the place that last held their friend.
instead of greeting like she usually would, she went into the kitchen to pour herself a drink. everyone was too busy in their own head to care.
"i'll take him in." heewon declared at last, attracting the many glares of her friend group. "it makes most sense, hyunsung can look after him and i'll add him to my medical insurance."
hyunsung didn't react, his red-ish eyes simply darting between one face to another, as though waiting for the blast to happen. he flinched when sooyoung's voice boomed right beside him next.
"joonghyuk's insurance is better than yours, if it really was just about money what's stopping him from buying the hospital?"
heewon's eyes sharpened around the edges and sangah almost laughed at how ridiculous this fight was. "if his insurance is so good, he should've already put dokja on his insurance. so really, what is stopping him?" she said, her voice oddly calm and rougher than usual.
must be the whisky from last night.
"either way," she continued. "i want unrestricted access to visit dokja and buy the necessary hygiene products for him, i really don't care which one of you take over his primary expenses as long as i get that."
the group nodded, each considering the request and weighing their own options and where they stood in terms of the medical benefits with their insurance.
"i'll take him, the rest of you may visit." joonghyuk said, addressing the room at last before reassuring sangah who had immediately straightened up to fight him. she relaxed back into the side of the couch, still nursing her cup of cold water.
heewon made a face, unwilling to back down but acknowledging where she lacked.
the debate between her and sooyoung lasted the entire morning, each unwilling to change their decisions and take the shorter end of the stick. in the end, it wasn't until hunsung slowly coerced the tears out of her that she relented bitterly, still making demands that almost sooyoung almost laugh.
almost, if she could forget about the circumstances for just a moment.
as they poured out of the apartment, hyunsung asked about the apartment. "i'm taking over the lease, sooyoung's responsible to get the supplies for cleaning."
"i'm good at couponing." sooyoung shrugged.
"more like begging." sangah snorted. she noticed heewon frowning, deep in thought. she expected to get pulled aside before they each went about their way to arrange for dokja's welcome party and making the necessary changes in their schedule to make the adjustments necessary with joonghyuk already calling up his insurance company to sort out the added expanses.
instead, the silence from heewon lasted a full twenty-four hours before she got a text.
"is there anything i can help with around the house?"
sangah looked at it for a moment then took in her surroundings, the elevator pristine and sleek and filled to the brim with people. "half the rest and help with cleaning" she sent.
"you up for it?"
chapter 7
sangah stepped out of the elevator and her body had lost its usual ambition, the usual energy that lasted throughout the day. she didn't have the energy today to even meet the eyes of her worried coworkers -- were they even worried? or was compassion another mask they had put on to stradle her with overtime? she didn't know, she was too tired of doubting already to figure out. none of them were close to begin with, now with the addition of this lingering doubt of everyone secretly hating her made her head ache.
she was making her way around the front desk when a familiar voice called out to her. she whipped her head around, eyes wide and breath stuck in her throat, only to slump her shoulders to find hyunsung standing there in his civilian clothes, somewhat long hair for a militery guy fell over his forehead. his bag sat by his feet pitifully.
he waved her over, unable to move enough to chase after her. he wore a similar exhausted expression as her, dark circles around his eyes and smile that looked forced. he bowed his head slightly in greeting, words turning into a sigh as he watched the woman wordlessly go behind him and start pushing his chair.
he waited until they were out of the office, then until the office crowd had thinned to try his luck again. "i was discharged yesterday from the hospital, i'm on leave for a broken ankle." he said and continued looking ahead. cars zipped past them and pedestrians walked around them.
"i heard about dokja." he looked at his sweaty palms and dried them on his trousers. "heewon refused to talk to me for a while, then she told me when i had her mother involved. i didn't believe her, i mean, she wouldn't lie about that, but it just sounds fake, he had it all for a while. he even went on a few dates every now and then, you know how it is within the community, they just-" he took a deep break, cutting himself off. "you know what i mean sangah. i had every reason not to believe her, then those officers showed up."
"they had real evidence, all those scattered pills i- i had to believe then. i still- wanted to check-"
"i cleaned them." sangah cut in, her eyes empty and unfocused, she didn't move from beside hyunsung's wheelchair, instead she simply folded her hands and switched the foot she leaned on, swaying slightly. "everything. his kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, he still had your birthday card and those, subway coupon things you sent his last birthday."
silence took over yet again. the light of the market ad from the marble buildings around them reflected in their eyes. sangah's expression didn't change when she heard the heavy, wet sigh from the man beside her. her arms stayed folded while hyunsung's struggled to hide his expression.
they took a taxi that night, hyunsung didn't speak the rest of the way, afraid for his voice to be mistaken as his again. sangah offered her one last napkin to him before her stop.
she hoped the next time she met them was when dokja woke up, rather than to be reminded of the friend she was losing like quicksand.
in the office, dokja's desk sat empty, his old post collecting dust, his drawer locked. after the news reached the office, the administration took it upon themselves to secure the desk as he had left it. the first week they made sure to leave flowers, anything they found at the end of the day. the second week the flowers had stopped while the murmurs began.
quiet rumours at first, people love drama, they live for drama and so, wild speculations made rounds - a breakup, rape, loser mentality, his mother's reappearance, an unrequited love and God knows what not.
at first, cabins and meetings got quiet when sangah walked by, leaving her blissfully unaware of what they had been talking about behind her back. then things shifted, han myungoh got involved.
for once she didn't want to slap the pervert across his face when he talked to her.
he showed her a recording, held a meeting with HR and provided her the support to get through the grieving period. one problem - he severely underestimated how long the grieving period would last.
sure, she was giving her colleagues a smile when they called her for lunch, she was eating sometimes, but that's the extent of it. since learning about the rumours going around she couldn't shake the feeling of being watched all the time, couldn't help but suppress a shiver every time she entered a confrence or walked by her coworkers during breaks.
on one such fateful Saturday, while she was in the restroom trying not to melt into an overwhelmed puddle on the floor, she heard a bunch of her coworkers walk in, gossiping as they retouched their makeup and took a small break.
"have you heard?" one of them said, her tone curious and cautious. "kim dokja-ssi is still in the hospital. i heard he hasn't woken up yet."
she heard smacking of lips then, heels coming to a stop. "to be honest, i wouldn't have known his if it wasn't for this whole ordeal, who knows what kind of pervert he was."
the first woman hummed. "yoo sangah-ssi was quite close with him so, maybe not a pervert?"
"well, she's close with everyone." the other woman said, her tone carrying the smirk on her face. "don't you know, she even slept with han myungoh." a gasp then, a hurried, suppressed giggle. "yeah! him, of all people."
"and she still has the gall to walk like she has any dignity left."
the two women giggled, they chatted more, something sangah had tuned out after listening to their initial conversation. she had clasped her hand over her ears, her breathing heavy and stuck in her throat. tears rolled down her face as the conversation repeated in her head, the incidents from high school returning as she curled over herself.
after a couple of minutes, an alarm bell brought her out of the verge of a panic attack. it was coming from the same women outside.
sangah listened in until the clink of their heels faded before she stepped out of the stall, walking carefully on her shaky legs. she clutched the besin and couldn't look herself in the mirror as she washed her face with cold water and ran the wet hand through her hair.
there was still a long day ahead.
not the same flow but at least I'm writing
let me. innnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
in flow state, writing 500 words within minutes while planning where the story goes and where dokja fucked off to this time when my laptop pulls out the ultimate bitch move of low battery.
I will throw it into the thames river one day if this keeps happening
the best fanfic is the one the author had fun writing actually.
the second best is the one the author used to work through some issues.
the third best is the one the author wrote out of spite due to some really dogshit discourse going on in their fandom
Dick being sick of people infantilizing him after being Robin, refusing to be labelled as a kid or anything like it. He's Nightwing, he's one of the planet's most beloved heroes, he's fought gods and monsters and come out on top. But the boy has a meltdown when somebody passingly comments about how cute the current Robin is, indeed aren't they the cutest Robin there ever was? And Dick immediately being like "I was cute!" and defending himself like it's the last thing he will ever do, on the verge of crashing out while the newest Robin is just beaming at him like a possessed labubu because Dick is about three seconds from sobbing in the fetal position.
