imagine cuddling with your cg on a sunday morning, lazily playing with their hands and your plushies, making plans for the rest of the day, first breakfast and then maybe a walk in the park? if it’s raining then just watching a movie inside, or playing video games while sitting in their lap and cuddling. pouting a bit because they say you can’t have candies right now, but promising you’ll both bake some cookies later, and before you know it it’s already lunch time. they always ask you if you want to help with cooking and you say yes, trying to cut some vegetables with a kiddo safe knife. lunch is ate in the garden maybe, or hidden in a blanket castle while you giggle at your cg funny voice they gave to the dino nuggets. you say you’re not tired for a nap, but end up falling asleep in their arms as they read you a story, before turning off the sound of the tv and playing quietly a game, waiting for you to wake up before going to bake those cookies they promised you earlier…

Give. Me. Embarrassing agere.

Give me loud wailing and sobbing and clinging to a trusted person. Give me begging to "go home" whether that home is real and reachable or not. Give me crying for parents and siblings and grandparents and *anyone* who feels safer than the present situation.

Give me stress regression. Give me trauma response regression. Give me regression as a result of someone's self-soothing ability completely imploding.

Give me the gross parts of it. In writing, in drawings, in headcanon ramblings. The tantrums with snot and spit and red faces. The potty accidents. The bedwetting. The lashing out and yelling and hitting. The physical symptoms of feeling like you're no longer in full control of your mind and body. Let me see the MISBEHAVIOR that comes with feeling like a child in a body that's too big for you when everything is SCARY. The behavior you REGRET later.

Seeing the cozy, comforting, voluntary end of agere is so important when you're using it to comfort yourself.

But the embarrassment of it goes beyond "I use pacifiers and stuffed animals to self soothe after a hard day." for a lot of people. Acknowledge and accept that, too. Please.

💭imagining my caregiver taking care of me during my paranoia episodes

Him keeping me distracted and making sure I’m not left alone and reading me books and playing with toys with me to keep me calm, keeping anything that triggers me away from me and not letting me spiral, giving me my paci and rubbing my back until I feel safe enough to fall asleep and escape the paranoia, reassuring me nothing is going to happen to me and no one will hurt me, telling me it’s okay to be scared and I’m not bad for being scared of him sometimes

Paranoia sucks so bad, I wish I wasn’t alone right now, I’m so scared. Sorry this if post isn’t as lighthearted as usual and doesn’t make much sense, I’m not feeling great
