guide to starting a lïftßñg blog
with the pandemic going on, i've been seeing more and more people are talking about $tĂȘĂ€lïñg... which means more lĂźftßñg blogs are going to be created, so i thought i'd make a quick guide.
1: choose your url
the best urls have something related to lßftßñg in their names, as this lets other lßftßñg blogs know you're on their side. many people, myself included, block anyone who interacts and isn't a lßftßñg blog (unless an ask/message is sent saying that your lßftßñg blog is a side blog) (but honestly i don't recommend making your lßftßñg blog a side blog. mistakes get made too easily)
also - kleptomania is a real disorder. don't put "klepto" in your url unless you actually have kleptomania. (which you probably don't, because kleptomania is characterized as $tëÄlßñg things that you have no use for with no control and feeling intensely guilty afterward. it's very different from the kind of $tëÄlßñg we do.)
2: setting up your blog
there's a few things you want to do to make sure your lifting blog stays private, or else you might get caught, reported, and deleted by antis.
some people feel safer with a vpn on. this isn't 100% necessary for everyone, but there's no harm in it. it's not hard to find free ones, and spending money on a vpn might be worth it for you because they have other uses.
hide your blog:
settings > visibility > turn on both things to hide your blog from tumblr search and google search.
settings > pages > turn off likes and following so no one can see those pages except you.
settings > general settings > privacy > turn off all three things, just to be safe. this last one isn't necessary, but i recommend it.
also, a lot of people have "roleplay" in their bio as a way of warding off antis.
3: running your blog
don't interact outside of the community. reblogging/liking a post from a non-lßftër calls attention to your blog and every lifting blog you interact with. it's putting yourself and your favorite blogs in danger of being deleted. in fact, many people will block anyone who interacts outside of the community. i'm wary of any post with 1000+ notes, as they can have antis seeing them everyday.
don't tag anything with specific tags. again, this just makes lßftßñg blogs easier to find. make your tags as vague as possible, like "tips" or "important" etc. (i know posts should be hidden from tumblr search, but we can't rely on tumblr to do what we tell it to.)
don't post any personal information. no pictures/videos of your face, no last names, some people have fake first names, and no specific locations. download an app that can remove exif data from pictures, as this can lead to your location. THIS INCLUDES IN DMS. just because the person you're messaging is a lifter does not mean you should trust them.
obscure specific words and names. store names like Ɣà lmÀrt and words like lÏftßñg could be picked by search engines if unobscured.
don't be afraid to ask questions! there's no such thing as a stupid question, and when you're lifting it's better to be safe than sorry. i'm always open for asks, though i'm not always logged into this account so it might take me a second to see them.
4: don't get comfortable.
remember that $hÞplßftßñg isn't a game or a competition, it's a crime. think of that fact every time you go out to $tëål. every time you see something you want, ask yourself if it's worth it. don't get greedy, don't $tëÄl more than you're ever going to use. be confident, be careful, and know when to stop.
good luck! -M
surprisingly easy- not many cameras, no towers, and staff wasnât around? I probably wonât go back because thatâs suspicious as hell, but I am damn proud of this. Itâs unbelievable
Instax camera x3
Instax film
Everyone slept on this when it happened but lemme say this: idk how I managed this, I really don't (I mean, you can ask me, but idk how I had the audacity and mentality) but it was a waste because one was for a friend and she went and actually purchased a different one afterwards,, ahhh my effortssss đđ
HAVE YALL SEEN THIS ONE đ€Ż

some advice for lifters
hi !! im not a proffesional but im kinda exprienced and i see so many mistakes/caught stories these days so i just wanted to make a thread! also sorry for my english, its not my national language. if i have any mistakes just correct me <3
what should i wear? is it that important?
i think you all know the âteenaged shoplifterâ look right? dark clothing, a beanie, chains, and a skateboard, probably with their friends and has shifty eyes. if u dress like this the SA wİLL know what u are up to.
and then theres an another look, the âunexprienced newbieâ look. the baggy sweatshirt(i dont mean the expensive ones you know what i mean) nerveous, sweaty and SHİFTY eyes. avoids SA and touches their sweatshirt all the time. they will know you hide something in that sweatshirt.
so what should you wear? you can still wear dark clothing but in a chic way. you can still wear baggy outfits but you have to look confident. theres no best outfit for lifting, just wear neutral colors, a normal makeup and some jewelery. wear something that they wont even care about. that doesnt pops in the crowd. not be you, be every basic shopper girl that lives in your city.
btw if u are not a newbie you can just go with a jogger and a t-shirt. you can still be invisible if you know how to.
how to be invisible?
when you first head in the store, dont check for the damn cameras, look at the staff and kindly smile or just dont do anything. dont look nerveous, sweaty. dont act like youre high, be normal. youre just a shopper who is looking for the x product?
youre in the store, congrats!! theres options that might happen to you.
1) you might get an SA on your ass asking you what are you looking for. you can tell them âyoure just browsingâ but thats a common lie so theyâre bored of it. be creative, say something like âmy friend and iâll meet here, while waiting iâll just hang hereâ âweâre playing hide and seek can i stay here for like 10 mins?â (yeah this is so childish they will leave your ass in like 00.01 mins) âdo you have the x product? (something you know they dont have in stock or dont sell at all) etc.
2) the second option is âhi would you like to take a basket?â you can answer this with, ânah, thanks. when i carry a basket i feel like i need to buy more. its not good for my wallet you know.â âwould you like to try this product which is similar to the product youre looking at?â âoh sorry we dont have that product but here is a similar one!â ok bROO FUCK OFF, these just make me so uncomfartable. you can answer these two with this âi have social anxiety so its so hard to talk to strangers, is it okay if we just dont talk?â or just say âthanks, not needed.â
the third and last option is âtheres no one on my ass but i think someone is watching meâ just get out of their zone and if you have a bad feeling, LEAVE THE FUCK OUT.
im in the store, i chose what do i want to lift, what do i do now?
theres soooo many concealing methods. you can find them on liftblr if u scroll a bit.
i usually conceal in my bag in a BLİNDSPOT. never ever conceal in front of camera, other customers!! and officialy the staff. when im lifting grocery i put my reusable bag at the basket and get what i want x2 in the basket and get one of them in my bag, leave one at the basket in a blindspot.
for lifting clothes you usually need a magnet or hook. the aliminium bags only work for the RFİD tags. you can also cut a hole in the clothing to get rid of the tag. be quiet in the changing room and DO NOT LEAVE THE FUCKİNG RFİD/TAG AT THE CHANGİNG ROOM İTS HOW DO PEOPLE GET CAUGHT.
some extra tips
i just went to lifting with my little brother, he sat on the stroller while i was using the stroller as a bag and a concealer.
dont wear sunglasses in the store. if they cant see your eyes they wont trust you.
know your times!!! this is very very important. i usually go to the stores in the morning (11-12 am) and when its not crowded. in the morning the SA work with the new packages that have just came or clean the mess from the last day or just be sleepy and dont give fuck about you.
if you beep just walk calmly. if they call you to come back say its your pacemaker or your wallet.
thats it from me babies, be safe <3
also i need advice on how to not to get caught to my MOM? she knows iâve lifted once and now she looks at everything i bring home and asks where did i found the money for these?
hi there, i'm messaging a whole bunch of blogs because i'm honestly so paranoid right now. i've lifted from several different places making sure i conceal my stuff in different places so they can't really trace it. in luggages at walmart, between shit that won't be moved for awhile, going to the bathroom (barnes and noble) and throwing away the boxes. i don't think anyone saw me, but what is the likelihood of having the police come get you after you successfully lifted something? help
If you make it to your vehicle without being caught youâll be fine.
nooo no no no please stop saying that!!! it is NOT TRUE!!!!!!!! you are going to get people caught with this shit!! there is NO POINT where you are home free. just because you make it out the doors doesnât mean they werenât watching you the whole time. just because you leave the parking lot doesnât mean they canât do shit about it. many stores will purposefully let you steal over and over again until you hit the felony amount in your state. if they were watching you on cam and werenât 100% sure you took something, but they suspected you, you can bet theyâll recognize you next time you come in, and if you make ONE mistake, they will prosecute for EVERY item they think you stole. many places even increase the amount youâre charged with, just because they can and you canât prove you didnât take more. itâs also completely legal and common practice to let you âget awayâ and then send a fine and court date straight to the address registered to your license plate. this isnât a game and there are no winning conditions. by the way - leaving empty packaging behind is solid evidence that you stole something, even if they never caught it on camera or personally saw you doing it. empty packages = theft and it is absolutely enough to prosecute. please, for the love of god, STOP telling people that theyâre fine just because they made it out the door. itâs absolutely not true and itâs an extremely dangerous misconception to be spreading to new lifters. you are never safe. there is ALWAYS a chance that you could get caught, even months after you do it. these places donât fuck around. being paranoid is better than being caught.
đđđđ
You safe just because you made it out the door. However if the police show up at your door, unless they have an warrant for your arrest, DENY LEAVING THE STORE WITH ANYTHING. They will tell you that they have it on camera, KEEP DENYING LEAVING WITH ANYTHING. They will say that it will be better if you just admit it, DENY, DENY, DENY. Say nothing, and stick to it. If they donât have a warrant for your arrest then they do not have enough evidence to prosecute you, they want you to admit to it so they can arrest you for it. If you open your mouth to say anything let it be âDo I need a lawyer?â, âAm I under arrest?â or âI did not leave that store with any merchandise that was not paid for.â, for the love of your freedom donât admit to anything. They will lie to you and say that they have the evidence and that it will be easier on you if you just tell the truth, POLICE CAN AND WILL LIE TO GET YOU TO CONFESS.Â
Please be safe, stay alert and happy lifting.
Yes! Police arenât to be trusted. Iâve had them screw me over - when I was the victim - too many times to count. Oh, your husband is beating the shit out of you? Sorry, itâll take awhile. We have to go see about a shoplifter.
Hi! I just wanted to share a quick tip I have: look up the product you're planning on lifting on instagram/google to find pictures of people holding it so that you can guage the size better (to see if it will work for your method of concealment). I hope this helps :)
Everyone this is a good tip ^^^^ thank you so much! đ
Big tbh
I don't give a rats ass if people "antis" have a problem with me stealing things that aren't necessities. Shit, we live once, might as well make the damn best of it.
Tik T0k Lifting
Iâve seen some tik toks about lifting. A lot of them are using the word âborrowingâ instead of lifting. Because of this, even if you report it, it wonât be taken down. Please still report these videos and if you make them, STOP!
Love you all đ Have an amazing day and even if you have a bad day, thatâs just as valid.
This is a new lifting blog, but Iâve been lifting for a while, and I was caught when I was still pretty new to it. (This was years ago, way before I even knew what tumblr was).
I had just turned 13 when I was caught, and I was doing a lot of lifting at a ΀@rgΔt that was connected to a pretty big mall. I worked in the mall, and when I got off my shift and was waiting for someone to pick me up, I would go in to the T@rgÎ”Ï and lift from the jewelry section (I know, terrible.)
Hereâs everything that I was doing wrong, off the top of my head
I was incredibly new to lifting, I was just lifting to be rebellious and had no clue what I was doing
I was lifting from a massive T@rgΔÏ, and I would go a few times a week and not ever take a break to let suspicion blow over (so they probably built a huge case)
I would conceal on floor right out in the open in a very obvious way, I was probably right under a camera every time. I was also in view of a few checkout lanes in the jewelry section.
I would act soooo sus! I would touch merchandise a ton and pick it up, then go put it back down, wander around the store, then go back and grab the same exact thing and probably do it again.
When I finally got the courage to lift, I would leave the packaging out in the open. I would leave it on top of a shelf, or maybe hang it back up.
After I lifted, I would probably act super sus. I probably avoided SAâs and such.
I wouldnât leave when I lifted something, I would stick around until I got a text from my parents, then go out and get right into their car, which would be waiting for me by the door.
So yeah, I was really bad and Iâm embarrassed just writing it out now, years later. The day I was caught, I had just gotten off of work and I was walking around the störĂ«. My oldest sister was picking me up, but she told me she was gonna be about an hour and a half late, since she was at the library studying for school. I went straight to the jewelry section and probably did sus shit. I know for a fact I ripped a ring straight off the packaging right out in the open, then stuffed it in my lil purse without trying to be low key or anything. Then, a lady about mid forties came into the section and started looking at necklaces, so I went to the other side of the jewelry section and started looking at necklaces that were on a lil spinny rack. I definitely tried to lift one, I just donât remember if I actually did conceal it or if I got scared and gave up. I then went straight to the bathrooms at the front of the store. I actually did have to use the bathroom, and I remember clear as day I had to go number 2. So I was definitely in the bathroom for a while. When I came out, I went back to the jewelry section and tried to lift some more. After a few minutes of looking at merch, I stood up and went on my phone. I then heard someone say, âHow are you?â. I didnât even know he was there, so I jumped and kinda laughed and said âYou scared me, hahaâ. He kinda laughed to, and I think he made a joke about me being startled. Then, he said âHow much stolen stuff is in your bag?â. I froze. Up until now, I didnât even think he was LP or someone I should be worried about. He wasnât in plainclothes, he wasnât disguised at all. He was wearing a uniform that clearly said âT@rgΔÏSecurityâ or whatever. Since I was so scared, and also since this was years ago, I canât go into detail about the next few minutes. It was a blur, so Iâll put what I remember in bullet points.
He took my lil purse and put it on the display counter, and went through it. He found a ring I had stolen that day, and took it. He also found some other stuff, but I donât remember what it was or if I had lifted it from his store or somewhere else.
He then had me follow him, and he called another LP officer and said âYeah, I got her, Iâm taking her to the back of the store, to the mall entranceâ (this ÏαrgÎ”Ï was attached to the mall, so there was a huge gate in the back that went directly into the mall).
The other LP officer said something, and the officer that had me (Iâm just gonna call him Officer W.) ended up taking me to the front of his store, and outside. Waiting for us was another LP officer and two police officers.
I donât remember much, but I remember they asked me how old I was, my name, where I went to school, why I was at the mall (I told them I worked there, but I didnât tell them where), where I lived, who was getting me, etc etc. I made up some bogus story about how some friends peer pressured me into stealing, and they seemed to accept it. (I later learned that a lot of young teens and such lift to feel rebellious, to fit in with friends, or because of peer pressure, so they believed me)
One of the police officers called my sister who was supposed to pick me up, and told her everything. Then, they asked me which parent I would rather call. One of the officers called my mom, and left a voicemail.
While the police officer was calling my mom and sister, the other police officer and Officer W. (the other LP went back inside the store), went through my purse again, they went through my wallet (I didnât have any cash in there). Officer W. asked me why I would steal if I could afford to buy everything. I said I couldnât afford anything, and he held up a VĂŻsa gift card I had gotten for my birthday. I told him that I had spent all the money on it with the âfriends that had pressured me into stealingâ.
My ride eventually came, and the officers didnât really talk to her. They told her that I was âbanned for lifeâ and that I was very respectful, and that they were letting me off easy.
And thatâs it! Thinking back on it, there were a ton of things I did wrong, a ton of things I learned, and also a ton of things that LP and the officers did that were total BS that I picked up on as the years passed. Examples of all of the above
Donât lift from T@rgÎ”Ï as a beginner! And donât do all the things I did, at all!
Donât let LP build a case
Donât be so sus, and donât go back often. Give it a few weeks before going back to a store.
Donât conceal on camera, donât be as clumsy as me, donât leave packaging out in the open
LP at that store had definitely knew who I was. Iâm not sure if they were looking for me from previous visits, or if they just caught on to me at that one time and saw me. The officers didnât bring up the past times Iâve lifted from that store, so I think this was the first time they caught me.
Scout a store, or at least have an idea of cameras. Also, make sure youâre alone when youâre lifting or concealing.
When I was told I was banned for life, I wasnât too concerned. I hardly ever went to that mall, other than for work, and my last day at that job was the next day. I steered clear of that place for a while, but now I know that they donât remember or care.
(Also, I was talking to a friend a few months later, and somehow something related to my story came up. I didnât tell her, but I told her that I saw a LP arresting someone else at the target by ________ Mall. She said âReally? My uncle works as LP at that Target at that mall.â And I kinda explained his appearance, and lo and behold, her uncle had caught me.)
I know this is super long, and Iâm almost positive that nobody is going to see this or care. But anyways, thatâs my caught story.
