Idea for a show: it starts out by presenting itself as one of those cliche anime harems where it’s something about the main lead that’s got like 12 different potential partners interested in them and they all want to date them.

But it’s quickly revealed that the main character is ACTUALLY Aromantic

So the show centers around the protagonist helping everyone that’s interested move on one way or another, whether it be helping them find a new love interest or giving them the boost they need to follow their dreams.

There’s lots of potential for many different scenarios with this formula, we could have a really funny episode where they try to help this sweet but pathetic love interest, while also having a deep, angsty episode later along the line as they help someone battle their inner demons

And the more “love interests” that turn into friends, the more members added to the “main”cast. We could use the slice of life filler episodes to expand on their characters BEYOND being a bunch of cookie cutter love tropes

IT DOESNT EVEN NEED TO TAKE PLACE IN A GENERIC ANIME HIGHSCHOOL, this could probably work in vastly different settings, like a DND world, a megamall, maybe the main lead is a single parent who’s done with romance and has a child to care for, THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS

People need to understand that the point ISN’T “being single is not a failure if you’re aromantic”, the point is being single is not a failure full stop.

You can be allo and be single; it’s allowed. You feeling attraction doesn’t mean your priority NEEDS to be finding romance (it can be! But it also can not).

Being single should be normalized no matter what your romantic/sexual orientation is. It isn’t a tragedy.
