Cheeky shitpost in commemoration of Blair making his “return to politics”
Post-Brexit, I’ve already seen too many Labour supporters shaming the poor for voting to leave, or in some cases- just for being poor.
This is what drives people to the right. Labeling the working class “idiots” and “bigots” will not build support for the left. It’s time to address their grievances and build a real fight-back.
Kind of tired of EU stuff by now but for my followers in the UK: Vote to leave the EU tomorrow.
As a committed socialist there’s no way I can endorse a disgusting neoliberal institution which has nothing but contempt for the working class. I don’t want to hear any of that “but worker’s rights” bollocks. The EU didn’t give us workers rights, generations of trade unionists died for them, and they’d be turning in their graves if they could hear you. Anyway, enjoy the shitpost.

Yes, capitalism is filled with opportunities for corruption:
but in it’s purest form, it is corruption:
cooperation becomes competition,
productivity becomes profit,
organisation becomes exploitation,
community becomes alienation,
the human becomes the inhuman.
Yes, rich people take advantage to maximize their profits:
but it is the existence of ‘profit’ in the first place which is the fundamental issue.
Exploitation is not a trick played on a ignorant people:
it’s the basis of the system which brings that people into existence.
‘Rich people’ are not rich because they are criminals:
but because they are members of a class.
You are not poor because politicians take back-handers:
you are poor because the wealth of the world relies on your poverty.
Every day you go to work and do not receive the full value of that work:
it isn’t a crime,
it isn’t corrupt,
it is the way in which all wealth is produced,
you must work in order that you do not starve,
because of your poverty.
Capitalism relies on your poverty continuing:
otherwise, you will not work, you will not be exploited, you will not produce value for capital.
There are no conspiracies:
the facts are apparent.
Capitalism announces itself as inhuman through:
the form of the commodity,
wage labour,
private property.
There will be no salvation from the law.
The law creates the conditions for capitalism and the circulation of capital.
That some people hide that circulation does not change the nature of capital and capitalism.
The answer is not a better and more honest capitalism,
the answer is not shutting down tax havens,
the answer is not taxing the rich,
the answer is the end of capitalism.
tfw you try to discredit equal pay and wind up implicitly advocating full communism instead

To every MP that voted to bomb Syria yesterday: there is blood on your hands. Every innocent death, every child's life taken as "collateral damage" is on you.
Haven’t posted in a while, sorry guys. In the meantime here’s a phone wallpaper I made for myself so I can casually show off my commie credentials!
the skeletariat will overthrow the bonegeoise
Spotted today in Leeds. I can't be the only one who finds this absolutely disgusting. We live in a society which tries to paint poverty as natural and fair but the fact of the matter is that it simply is not. The vast majority of homeless people suffer from no form of addiction whatsoever, and yet here we are stigmatising the most vulnerable in our society, many of whom do suffer from physical or mental disability, for totally ideological reasons. I should note this sign was not accompanied by charity boxes or information on how the homeless can seek assistance for addiction or for homelessness itself. Maybe that's because while some people are launching campaigns to demonise these people further, these facilities are being destroyed by disgraceful attacks from our government. Solidarity with all homeless people. Whoever is behind these should be ashamed of themselves.
This video is important.
Really interesting observations about the way our capitalist society shapes the way we see the world. Capitalism is not the only system, it is not the best system- it is the current system.
Exit polls are looking bleak
Cameron Langrell is a 15 y/o trans girl that committed suicide two days ago just a few days after coming out
I’m so mad right now because nobody is talking about this, and while everyone is ignoring her death people from where she lived are speaking about “how heartbroken” they are while they misgender her and put the word female in quotations
and i haven’t seen a single article using her correct pronouns
cis people dont respect us and they dont care about us im so sick of trans people being treated like trash even after they pass away
(x) Here’s an article that doesn’t misgender her, so I’d read this one as opposed to ones that use wrong pronouns
No to austerity! An election broadcast on behalf of the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition. If you liked our broadcast, join us here: http://tusc2015.com...
With the general election tomorrow, I'd like to take the opportunity to remind you all that there is an alternative out there. An alternative to the big political parties who slash our public services while simultaneously pandering to big bosses. An alternative formed from working class resistance to austerity, putting forward a working class voice for all the ordinary people of this country.
A party which fight for £10 minimum wage NOW, not in a few years. A party which believes in the right to free education- no to all student fees. A party dedicated to mass housing programs and rent controls. A party which demands democratic public ownership of all rail networks, public services, utilities and banks. A party which will end all cuts and austerity.
The Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition is the party of the people, with it's MPs pledging to take only the average wage, and already the 6th largest in the country, despite poor media coverage.
I am proud to be standing for TUSC in my ward, I am proud to be a part of a movement fighting to make a real difference.
Please, if you can, vote for the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition tomorrow at the polling booth.
For a full list of TUSC policies, see our website: TUSC 2015
Happy International Workers’ Day to all my comrades across the globe. Workers of the world, unite!
lush employee: hello welcome to lush would you like to buy some of our dirt harvested from the actual earth for only $27.99 per ounce
if this post didn’t have so many notes I’d scroll off but ya’ll need to find your fucking chill
yes lush products can be pricey, they’re not always in everybody’s price range I completely understand that, and yes they can be in weird formulas, or too ~au naturale~ for some people
cool, if you don’t like their products that’s fine by me but there’s no need to throw shade at other people for it
the reasons the prices can be high is because not only do lush try to ethically source absolutely every ingredient possible, but they do their god damn fucking best to pay everyone involved in the process a fair wage
how many other big beauty companies that use sandalwood in their products try to source it in a way that helps support indigenous australian communities?
how many other companies give all the proceeds of a body scrub minus government tax to a fund that is trying to help save the great barrier reef?
how many other companies not only hire openly trans and queer people without blinking but also support them and their potential struggles in the workplace and do campaigns for their rights?
how many other beauty companies are not only 100% against animal testing for their products but have been making efforts and campaigns for years to try and outlaw animal testing for cosmetics globally?
like boo hoo you find it dumb that a product has sand in it and don’t like that it’s getting popular with other people
move on already
It’s been a while since I posted anything substantial but I wanted to point out that being ridiculously pricey is by no means Lush’s worst offense. As always, it is important to remember that Lush is still a capitalist organisation, it is not a worker’s cooperative, it is a corporation which appropriates the value their workers’ labour, relying on the capitalist principle of wage slavery (no matter how “fair” that wage may seem) in order to exploit them, no amount of “oh no we’re a nice corporation though” will change that.
Not only this, but Lush should most certainly not be held up as a bastion of “caring capitalism” (what a joke of a name). As I said before, Lush is a capitalist corporation, and the only reason they exist is to turn a profit, they have an excellent marketing team, which is why they have this deceitful reputation as a nice, human-rights conscious company, however that marketing team does exactly that, it markets, it sees what issue is in the spotlight and it “acts” on that.
This is why Lush is happy to boycott Isreal when the world’s media is talking about it. This is also why Lush continues to support expansion of their brand in Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia (as well as other countries with a disgusting human rights record), which according to the human rights group Freedom House, score worse in political and civil freedoms by several magnitudes.
On top of this, Lush has been accused multiple times of normalising male-on-female violence (source), have campaigned for reduced air traffic while simultaneously flying regularly and opening stores inside airports, and tricking people into believing they pay their workers a living wage (when in fact they only pay that in the London, guaranteeing just 50p more than minimum outside of it).
So to reiterate- Lush is a capitalist organisation, it opportunistically puts on a caring face to make you buy more products while they exploit their own workers and are complicit in human rights violations (so long as no-one notices) in order to rake in mountains of cash. The only way to end this sort of exploitation on a large scale is the implementation of a socialist economy and worker controlled means of production.
No to austerity! An election broadcast on behalf of the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition.
TUSC election broadcast went out today, if you want a real left-wing alternative to the disgusting paradigm of austerity politics. Vote TUSC!
