When we lived in Brooklyn, there was this Arabic bakery we went to a number of times. We even took my family there. Arabic ice cream is so good!!!!! So when I saw a middle eastern bakery here in lexington, I knew we needed to check it out! And we are so glad we did! They have only been open 15 months! They are friendly and their products are so yummy!!! I used to find Turkish delight gross, but now that I know they come in so many different flavours, I LOVE them! So if you live in the Lexington area, we highly recommend checking this place out! Felt so good to be back baking! While this isn't the recipe i was working on the other day, it is something I've been wanting to work on: A FUNFETTI COOKIE!!!!! So this year, I have decided to never make another new year's resolution. As Benjamin Franklin (supposedly) said, "don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today!" I have been craving getting back in shape for years. I start and stop, start and stop, and on and on. And so today is my second day back at the gym. The first was December 31st! It took me a few days to post, but here it is. My new cookie!!! Crazy I know. I took my time. But I am very proud of this 😁 Whay we have here is a German chocolate cookie! A chocolate and pecan cookie topped with a coconut icing!!! So yummy. Needs some minor tweaking to the icing texture-wise, but otherwise it is delicious! Now here is a little history lesson. German chocolate was originally referred to as German's chocolate as it was a cake made with German's brand chocolate. An American brand of chocolate! Over the years the S has been dropped. So yeah.
