Thinking so much these days, especially about the weight of sin... and how once we are forgiven for something we should NOT be carrying the weight of that around any longer. Satan is the accuser of the brethren. He wants you to think you're not forgiven. BUT if you've sincerely asked forgiveness, He PROMISES to forgive and even cleanse (1 John 1:9). So, I AM letting my mind be filled with the TRUTH of God's word rather than the fickle thoughts of my mind or the thoughts of others. We MUST put on the FULL armor of God as we are commanded in Ephesians 6, and that means standing firm by girding our loins with TRUTH, keeping that breastplate of righteousness in its place right over our heart, walking daily in our shoes of peace, increasing our shield of faith by knowing the Lord through His word (this is what extinguishes the fiery darts of the evil one... faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word - Romans 10:17), and keeping our helmet of salvation firmly in place. This is the salvation that you received when you turned your life over to Jesus and received His beautiful forgiveness! Then we take up our one weapon, the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. How important is that? It's a matter of life (eternal) and death (spiritual). Commissioned Work: Birmingham, AL Client⠀ Watercolor on 6 x 9 on paper ⠀ It is a huge challenge for me doing pieces this small because (as most of you know) I love getting in every ounce of detail I can. 😀 That is not easy in such a small work, but my client wanted this to be a companion piece for an earlier home portrait he already had of that size. This was also a "sheltering in place piece" that came with the additional challenge of getting the frame to come in, since the frame company was on hiatus due to restrictions. But, I finally managed to pull it all together and deliver to him.
