simon-talbot:
Simon snorted. “Nice to see you too, Chris. Would you have preferred I made an appointment?” He paced on the carpet, too irritated to sit down but too full of energy to stand still. “Sorry. The damn thing is a hunk of junk. I’ve told my new assistant to arrange for a new model.” He raked his fingers through his hair and stopped, frowning. “I may have made certain … I don’t know, assurances to Cass that I would support her relationship with that redneck troglodyte. She’s going to see this as me lying again. Because she’s paranoid and selfish and determined to see an attack from the people who love her and want her to be safe and happy.” He unbuttoned his cuffs and rolled up his sleeves. “Should I bring a gun, or a sword? It’s been ages since I interrogated someone with a sword. I miss it.”
Christopher merely watched his brother as he paced before him, in silent annoyance. “You’re making the place look untidy, Simon.” He uttered lowly in jest despite the serious tone that accompanied his words. “I hate to break it to you brother but we both did. That was until our dear sister, dragged Tristan into this mess.” It was blunt, and perhaps ignorant of him to blame Cassidy, but that was exactly what had happened. Once again their baby sister had brought about a shitstorm and one of their siblings had paid the price for her mistake. It was incomprehensible, and yet not the first time. “Cassidy can see it as she likes, but this is no longer her concern. It is ours. And no hunter, male or female gets away with taking a stab at the Talbot pack. Sawyer may not have been the one holding the gun, but he may have damn well been. His lady connection, Beck, will live to regret her actions. As will he --- that is if they both live.” He mused, expression void of emotion as he gathered his keys and jacket. “Sword brother, why waste your own gun when we can use their own against them.”
o-fee-lia:
“Yet they’re still here. I’m not saying you don’t know loss - God knows you’ve lived long enough. But at the end of it all, after everything, your family is still alive. They’ll always come back to you. You’ll never stand by yourself. You’’re never truely alone and you never will be. Imagine it - for just one minute - losing them all, all at once, and tell me that you wouldn’t feel the same. Could you replace them? – I am resourceful, but I’m not stupid enough to think that you’d help me do what I need to do, neither would you allow anyone else in the pack. This is not my town Chris, this is not my home and it won’t be my war either. And what I want isn’t here either… not anymore.”
“So that is what this is about --- you’re under the belief that I would not aid you in your quest for vengeance. Tell me, how are you to know this when you never in fact asked for my help in the first place.  Would you have me believe you’re a mind reader of sorts, because somehow I don’t think that is true, or else we wouldn't be having this very conversation. You are wrong about that however, this is your war. It became your war the moment you stepped foot in it.”
grxcious-dorothy:
“I can’t teach my students that the world was build on negative thinking. Personally, I like to think that the optimists brought us further in history. But thank you for thinking it’s refreshing. The best I usually get is a worthless attempt not to jawn, - at least they try” she replied with a soft chuckle, before her smile faded lightly. “Maybe we do, but sometimes what we want is not yet in reach. Or completely out of the question. Then there would be no use in chasing it, as we would only be wasting our time trying to catch a ghost. I can tell you from experience, those are damn hard to catch.”
“For some I’m sure it has -- now that there is hope at least. For the longest time, hope itself didn’t exist in many circumstances. And that is the optimist’s key element. The driving force if you will, because without hope what else is there? The fear of the unknown; but that’s another subject entirely.” Christopher nodded as he listened in quiet content. “”Nothing is ever completely out of the question, out of sight perhaps but not out of reach. It’s the mentality that makes the result.”
lenoredauphine:
“That makes sense. In what century did you get to be so philosophical? I know there were hunters pulled from the water, but they weren’t the ones randomly showing up dead for weeks now… Four bodies all killed at the same time, it’s impossible. Did whoever killed them really think we were too stupid to figure that out?”
“I like to think I was born this way, but probably the eighteen hundreds -- it was a century of changes. No, they weren't --- but it means this is bigger than just some witch vendetta. This is no longer about the safety of your people but the safety of the greater community. If these people can take out both witches and trained hunters then they’re a threat. It’s as simple and complex as that.”
mcralitywavers:
“Christopher, we have always operated the same way you and I, now isn’t any different. If you’re suggesting we skip lunch and have ourselves a little afternoon delight, well, we’re about due a relapse, aren’t we?”
“We haven’t had a relapse since the dark ages, Lyra. Best we don’t go about destroying our current record; nor another headboard for that matter.”
delicaitlyn:
“Chinese imperi..– You’re kidding me? Oh my god, Christ.– Mr Talbot, I’m so sorry.” Her already genuine shock that she’d smashed it in the first place increasing tenfold. “I’ll pay you back for it or something, I don’t really know what else I can do but..” Trailing off, she almost immediately quietened as he spoke, “No.. No of course you’re not, I don’t know why I’m asking you.”
“Not at all --- but as I said, I’m sure I will be able to replace it in time. It’s no matter, really.” He returned with a warm smile, somewhat blase about the situation. “No -- keep your money, please.” Christopher added, a hand raised in refusal at such a gesture. “Because you’re lost and looking for guidance, it’s natural Caitlyn. Whether we are the same or not, we’re both immortal, you’ll receive no such judgment from me as your actions have not required it.”
sebastian-talbot:
“You know I can not simply let it go. I mean well, but I fear the drama with our family may be more dangerous.”
“Well you must --- for now at least. Our family has bigger issues, starting with our youngest sister and Tristan. Are you aware of what’s happened?”
howlingxdaya:
Daya could hardly help herself, the job had wired her brain a certain way and she was simply too okay with it. She was just taking a walk to the supermarket when she spotted something that she categorize under suspicious activity, now there was lingering a few feet away from the scene unable to tear her big brown eyes away. âťť What are they up to? ❞ She asked herself at loud.Â
“ ---- Your guess is as good as mine, but if I didn’t know any better I’d say they’re sizing up the man behind the counter, trying to decide if one can take him down while the other takes the money in the till.” Christopher mused, all the while not so much as glancing in the two male’s direction as he plucked a bottle of water from the refrigerator. “There’s another two in the back and another at the door, keys in his hand --- the getaway driver I presume.”
trippxblais:
“– But here’s the difference between you and me; if either of them so much gets touched by you or yours, I’ll burn this fucking town and that fucking manor to the ground.”
“You are right about one thing, the difference between you and I is that I could kill you effortlessly, here and now. With no one about to witness your miserable ending, no one to mourn over your body, not even so much as a legacy. No one would know a thing. The Trip Blais we both know would simply cease to exist ----- However with that being said, I am but a reasonable man. I react on principle, and if it just so happens that I have bigger fish to fry at this point in time. But until then I shall continue to keep a wary eye on your brunettes. I believe the term they use these days is don’t fuck it up, is it not?”
lara-talbot:
“Well, I might also want to talk, you know, considering you’ve become something of an enigma, Chris. It’s not bad but it’s not the most amazing thing either– it actually just tastes rather artificial. I prefer a plain latte to it anyway. Are you thinking of getting one? Who knows, maybe you’d like it.”
“How exactly have I become something of an enigma, are you telling me things have changed over the past decade because I hadn’t noticed. No, not at all -- color me curious is all.”
andromeda-rhodes:
“Home sweet home. This place hasn’t changed a bit.”
“Neither have the inhabitants if you must know..”
tate-emersxn:
“This is…– not my house.”
“That would be correct --- well done, Tate.”
shelbyfontaine:
“I mean you could always join me on the long, winded road to being the family disappointment instead? I’ve found ignoring said problems is the easy way down that path and it’s actually pretty damn fun, Chris.” Joking on the latter, Shelby still provided a grin, “Have faith in a mocha hot chocolate instead. It’ll blow your mind, promise.”
“You forget, I’m the original family disappointment. My actions met my siblings demise, I’m not entirely sure you could beat that though I’d be willing to watch you try.” He mused somewhat uncharacteristically playfully, joking on the latter. “I’m sure it is, until they catch up with you. Then one can only hope you have enough support around you to prevent you from falling ---- I shall have to take your word for it.”
rosexbeck:
She hadn’t missed his entrance, cunning irises raking over the original alpha as he awaited the conclusion of her course. Each body that vacated the room a near physical timer on a clock set to her potential fate as ending up no better than Gabe. Smart man— her gun was down in the locker and he must have known that. It was potentially the sole reason he opted to catch her before she could retrieve it. “Is that what we’re doing now? Introductions like we don’t already know who one another is?”
“Well, unlike yourself Beck I still consider myself a civilized man --- savage is not generally my default. Something you clearly do not have in common. Then again, you don’t strike me as the type to think about the consequences of your actions much either, interesting that.”
lycanthropedarius:
“Let me help.” it was almost a plea, something that so rarely could be said about the words that left JD’s lips but here it was. “This town — this hellhole needs people who can stand up to them to actually do just that. Let me help.”
Christopher thought about it long and hard for a moment, he knew it was a bad idea. But saying no would only lead to him going off alone and that was something he wouldn’t sit back and allow happen, not a second time. “ ---- On one condition, you follow my lead and word. I won’t have you storming in there because of a vendetta only to put yourself in the firing line. Because that, would be playing into their hands and I have no intention of giving them such power.”
joslyncurie:
“I think that should do it on motivational speeches for the next year or so,” she offered a pathetic smile, shaking her head as if in mild agreement to what Chris said. He was right, in any sense. If she hadn’t left then, it would have only been a matter of time for her to eventually go off at least once. All the times she had felt sheltered and lost all boiled down to the fact that Red Creek had been suffocating her. Even when protected by the Talbot’s, Christopher especially, none of it matter until she allowed herself to get out of her own head. “I’ve certainly taken on that Talbot streak of luck,” she murmured, wringing her hands together in her own shy nature. Beck was right, to her own manipulative extent; that Joslyn was selfish. Not in the ways the hunter had goaded at her, but in the fact that she’d rather die holding on to her own secrets than confide in the one person who had given her faith in life. The one person who had provided her a home and a family she figured she was never destined to have. “Always better to hear it right from you, Chris.”Â
“I tried that once, didn’t quite work out in my favor. With that being said, I was young and arrogant so it was doomed to fail from the start.” Christopher replied, with a small smile of his own. But one memory from a century he would much rather be left forgotten. “You have indeed.” He nodded, a slight chuckle surpassing his lips at her words. Once apart of the pack, always a part of the pack; no matter what distance nor obstacles lay in between. Blue irises drifted to the floor for a long moment as he gathered his thoughts, since he had taken her in he had known it was only a matter of time before he would have to have this conversation and a big part of him dreaded it. Fearful it would push her away for the final time, while another part was intrigued. After all Joslyn had never been for lack of a better term predictable. The young girl now woman would always be different from the rest. Exhaling an unneeded breath he started, “my family and I --- as you would have noticed we don’t age, nor change in physical being. We simply exist, cursed to live an eternal life at the mercy of the moon. All because of a stupid decision I made in my early years.” He mused, gaze meeting hers as he studied her features in wait of a reaction. “We’re the original bloodline of wolves, the curse you live with descended from us --- me. So if you’re still looking to blame someone, you can start with me.”
