Congratulations, you're now a member of The Bed Club! 💕 My bed is where I spend most of my life & we definitely have a love/hate relationship! I hate being stuck in bed but I also wouldn't want to be anywhere else feeling like this! The purpose of The Bed Club is to make being stuck in bed a little easier by giving it a title & a cosy sleepover vibe. Being bedbound can be incredibly isolating & lonely but when you have access to the internet & a community of awesome people at your fingertips, it can really help alleviate some of those negative feelings. This past week has been a bit of a rollercoaster! I'm still waiting to have my tube replaced & not having my feeds is really starting to hit me. The vet called & we decided it was best to start Lestat on an elimination diet as there are rare cases of his kind of inflammatory condition being caused by allergies to specific proteins. So he gets to eat very special, very expensive kibblies for the next 8 weeks. Kibble is his favourite so I don't think he'll mind too much!💕 I saw the womens specialist again on Friday & had urodynamics testing done. It wasn't a great time but it wasn't anywhere near as awful as I was anticipating so I was very relieved. We discussed my test results & I was very surprised to learn I have PCOS. It does make sense, I have always gained weight very quickly & easily (which is why it was so alarming for my 6ft tall self to go from 64kg down to 51kg because of gastroparesis) We also scheduled my first surgery of 2018 for January which will be a laparoscopy to 100% confirm an Endometriosis diagnosis. There's so much more to the story but that's the basic rundown of what's been happening. Hi guys! Sorry for being MIA I've had a pretty hectic week. The balloon that holds my tube in place exploded (ok hyperbole but it did burst) & I've been in some pretty horrible pain ever since. I managed to make it to the Jacaranda Festival & I had such a wonderful day despite the pain. Last year I missed out as I was so sick & so messed up from my first tube surgery so I was so grateful I had the opportunity to go 💜 I saw my surgeon on Friday & should have gone to theatre that day but the supply guy at the hospital never ordered me a backup like my surgeon asked so I have to wait until next week. So just chilling with my tube taped in, waiting for a phone call to tell me my tube has arrived & we're a go for surgery. Weird picture from yesterday but I kinda like it! I was stressing pretty hardcore over getting to my Neurologist appointment next month which is a few hours away & finding accommodation in Brisbane where I'll be staying for Supanova to make the best of my trip because why the hell not!? I finally kicked my own ass and just did it! So I have successfully booked my bus to get to my appointment, figured out transportation to get to Brisbane & scored some sweet accommodation in a beautiful, central hotel. The universe was on my side today!
