bro i’ve been watching the play through of danganronpa v3 for the first time and genuinely WHAT was all the hype for saiouma about

maybe it’s because i’m only a little over 10 minutes into chapter 5 and haven’t been through the entire game yet but i feel like hajime and nagito had better ship material than them, BYAKUYA AND MAKOTO have better ship material than them 😭

they used to drag people through the MUD for this ship like 6 years ago just for it to be mid??? i feel betrayed

i swear i’m not even trying to hate (this time) but i genuinely can’t think of anything he did to serve the plot other than to make homelander realize v1 makes you immune to the virus, give the v1 to homelander and promote his spin off (while actively retconning his character to do it) that i personally could not care less about

one of the main issues homelanders had with himself is that even though he’s the most powerful he still ages like any other person, wouldn’t that have been motivation enough to want to seek out the v1?

if gets his hands on the v1, he’ll be immortal, and being immortal means nothing can kill you, including the virus. he didn’t need soldier boy to figure that out 😭😭

one thing i just thought about and now kinda wished season 4 of the boys did differently was to give ryan more of an arc/subplot that didn’t entirely revolve around his relationship with homelander or butcher

like for example, how he would interact with other kids his age. in season 4 the social and LITERAL power he had compared to every other kid his age would’ve had to have affected his ability to make friends in some way. maybe some kids feared him because of how high he was in power, maybe some kids only liked him because he’s homelanders son and tried being friends/friendly with him solely to get popular, maybe some kids secretly or openly resented him for how “good” he seemingly has it, which we’re aware is far from the truth (and that would open the door for a lot of insight on homelanders abuse towards ryan cuz for some reason people think he’s a good father lmao)

it honestly would’ve made a lot of sense for his character and his eventual friendship with zoe a lot more interesting

but idk i’m just thinking sighh

why are some people convinced that butcher was justified bringing ryan into his mission of killing homelander with the virus convincing him to kill himself in the process saying it's some noble sacrifice ryan has to make for the "greater good" and “justice” for his mom. that was literally just butchers way of manipulating ryan into agreeing with the plan 💀butcher doesn't gaf about saving the world, he wasn't even worried about the possibility that the virus could have had an effect on normal humans too guys can we please use our brains

spoilers for the boys season 5, episode 3

There’s something extremely evil about Butcher convincing Ryan to kill Homelander in the third episode. It’s how he tells Ryan that it’s better to dive head first into a literal war on a self destructive quest to kill Homelander rather than motivating him to be better than his father… by saying supes are horrible for the planet and deserve to basically be killed in a genocide by the virus. He feeds into Ryan’s insecurities to further his own cause, which are his powers—being a supe. Ever since Homelander entered Ryan’s life and twisted it in such a way where he had so much pent up anger he accidentally lasered his own mom, Ryan was literally never the same. He feels like he’s just as horrible as Homelander for merely being related to him, even more so after killing Mallory and it doesn’t help that Butcher keeps beating their deaths into his head.

He seemed mildly surprised when Ryan looked like a battered tomato after Homelander. Like he didn’t send the lamb right to the slaughterhouse, like Ryan walked in there with his own intentions that totally weren’t drilled into his head by Butcher. I hope this british rat dies WITH Homelander

if ryan DOES survive this last season of the boys how are they going to end his character 😭 i’m already fully confident that he’s gonna be those characters that break the cycle of abuse, but where that’ll leave him at the END, he could go in literally any direction

one of my favorite things about spideypool is when peter acknowledges that he could’ve turned out like deadpool. even the ultimate spider-man show points it out 😭

like if you look at them on a surface level you’d think spider-man is LEAGUES above deadpool in every way imaginable (and you’d be absolutely right. deadpool has no chance LOL), but when you look into them as characters they have quite a few similarities that nobody really talks about and it’s. jarring

i feel like in The Boys why ryan has such a hard time controlling his powers is because he doesn’t like them. he doesn’t accept them. he associates his powers with destruction and hurting the people he cares about, and i feel like that mindset will be dialed up to 11 in season 5 especially after finding out what homelander did to his mom and killing grace.

me thinking about him just being all alone thinking of himself as an unstable unpredictable weapon that everyone wants to use for their own personal agenda. ryan they will never understand you 💔
