It’s a strange feeling. I am nostalgic for the days of video rental, but not the days where the big chain stores put the local mom and pop video stores out of business. Which, as it turns out, was the first 20 years of my life. Funny how that works…
It’s a weirdly bittersweet thing to look at the shell of something that used to be a major fixture in our lives. At the same time though, I genuinely don’t miss the video rental store experience at all, and neither do most other people. If it hadn’t been such a painfully inferior option to Netflix then they’d still be around.
