Lute fanfic & headcanon musing
Sometimes, writing Lute as someone who experiences heteronormativity is like stuffing as much religious guilt as you possibly can into one character.
For my interpretation/headcanon of Lute: viewing Charlie and Vaggi's relationship as "Vile and Blasphemous" isn't mutually exclusive to either Charlie and Vaggi's relationship being "wrong" because Charlie's father is the enemy of heaven or Lute having homophobia and internalized homophobia its both of these at the same time.
Lute's Quest for Vengeance
Something I keep coming back to when thinking about the future of Lute's arc is this scene.
Its probably not a stretch to come to the conclusion that after the 7th extermination both Adam and Lute noticed one of the exorcists was missing.
At the end of season 1 episode 1, one of the exorcist drones finds the body of the missing exorcist. To say Lute is incensed at the revelation that exorcists can be killed would be putting it mildly.
She wants to gather the exorcist forces and avenge her fallen comrade in that very moment. Adam of course stops her which ends up leading to the failed 8th extermination where Adam and many more exorcists lose their lives.
While currently Adam's death is a driving force for Lute's arc I don't think its the only driving force because the events of Lute's personal arc were all kicked off by this scene.
Honestly, I don't find it out of the realm of possibility if Lute and Vaggi have parallel arc about comrades they couldn't save.
