what I fucking love is how tvl was written in the 80s and lestat is constantly sayinf shit like “as the kids say 🤪 that’s so rad!!” or whatever, and to me, reader of the vampire lestat in this modern age, that does NOT register the way anne rice intended it.

like it is supposed to feel jarring and insane. it is supposed to feel like lestat has been violently submerged in modern young people trends and culture and is now repeating all the new words he learned like a beautiful fresh baby. but because the book is from 1985, all I think is oh interesting huh I didn’t know that slang term even originated in the 80s how vintage how retro how lestat wow he’s so embarrassing aw aw so cute.

but amc in all their incredible genius decided that honoring anne rice’s original vision of writing an extremely modern and weird book that fully embodied the era it was written in was more important then bringing back the 80s nostalgia thing that streaming services love and it’s incredible to me. now I get to listen to lestat say shit like “labubu FOMO cosplay reddit discord Gen Z more like gen SNOOZE 🤪🤪🤪 safe space pronouns donald trump labubu tiktok dance 🕺🏻” and suddenly I understand what it felt like to be a young anne rice reader in 1985. I'm working kind of as a freelance tutor and this annoying as fuck old lady sets up what she calls a "little school" which is just. Me and another teacher showing up to her house to tutor a few students. Which by itself isn't a terrible idea, but she's SO FUCKING ANNOYING

She wants to tell me how to do my job. She says I need to spend 2hrs to prepare for each my 1hr classes (she does NOT pay me enough for any of that). She wants to complain about almost all my students. She wants to pay me less than what I normally make for my tutoring. She wants to call me at fucking 8 AM to "talk" (about what???? Who the fuck knows). She sends me like 17 audio messages a day because she can't be assed to type what she wants to say

Fuck I need to tell her to fuck off so badly but my poor students are nearing their finals and I don't want to leave them on their own like that........

was plan make new tote bag 4 aac go on wheelchair. Thought 'would be cool if design like computer keyboard' because fun silly have Radio's words in. Next thought 'if be computer keyboard could use as low tech AAC. Should then probably have yes/no symbols.' Then plan got out of control and now want 2 embroidery low tech AAC board for fashion (silly) and practical use.

3 half months to finish, very very happy with result. Bag good and sturdy. Take bit of figuring out to make. Strap piece wrap all way around bag so more support for heavy AAC. Strap long enough for wear cross body.

these are for communicate with strangers who not know sign or when body brain too tired for effective signing and as alternative to electronic AAC.

Someone even asked me “why don’t you charge money for it, it took you forever to put the document together” and I said “Not a lot of people have money and if they have some fabric scraps and a couple of buttons lying around they can make themselves a little mouse friend for free and that might make them happy and that makes me happier than receiving money???” Make yourself a liddol creacher! i dont think i posted these but here i made a little frog pattern to make tiny frog toys with my grandma

this is the first lil guy I made while still learning how i should sew it

AAA ok so a lot of people have been asking for the pattern to this, tho I've been using just these two little papers to do the cut outs lol

i tried my best to translate it into digital so that people get a bit more accurate look at them. Tho bear with me I've never done an actual pattern design sheet before!

so basically my hope is that anyone could print these out to any size of their choosing and get the same result, but ive never tried anything larger than approx. 3 inches with these sooo idk if you try it tag me!

the goal is to sew the backs together to the lines at the tip of the head to the middle of the butt. then leaving a space along the belly piece near the butt end and sewing from one side of the butt including all the legs and the "mouth" to the other side with its legs to get back to the butt. if that makes sense

i usually pause sewing up the body once the head is fully sewn together,, usually after ive sewn both arms and ill yank it inside out where ill start sewing on the little poofball eyes so i know theyre in a good place, then resuming the body, and then pulling the whole thing inside out and pushing out the tips of the limbs with a skinny blunt object like a dull pencil until i can see the stitches. if you attempt this piece definitely make sure you stitch up the arm and leg crevices very well!!!!

then just stuff the lad and sew up his back end and its done :)

one suggestion for fabric is always try to use a stretchy soft fleecy fabric with these because its much easier if mistakes are made during sewing and to hold the ROUND shape better

Overall its a very good use of scraps if you’ve accumulated a lot and don’t know what to do with them 👍👍
