Recently I've been thinking why people are often more empathetic towards animals that people

It's racism first and foremost, obviously

But people also often think of animals as innocent beings incapable of wrongdoing, and people in distress or poverty as somehow "bringing it upon themselves"

We see this in the intense racism against people living in countries that suffer greatly from pollution, and those countries or regions somehow always just happen to be ex-colonies

People blame those people for littering or "fucking up their own ecology" which in their eyes justifies the suffering and health consequences they go through

Humans basically can never be innocent, their suffering is always somehow deserved, or their own fault, or we can just do nothing about it

It's basically "humans are the real disease" to conceal the fundamental inequalities and racism of the global economy

Hello everynyan, I am back from the dead to post biblically accurate reanimator fanart :3 My favourite part of the lovecraft novel (other than all the yaoi, of course) was that time when Dean Halsey beat the shit out of blondebert and the narrator before jumping out the window <3

"...about 3 a.m. the whole house was aroused by cries coming from West’s room, where when they broke down the door they found the two of us unconscious on the blood-stained carpet, beaten, scratched, and mauled, and with the broken remnants of West’s bottles and instruments around us. Only an open window told what had become of our assailant, and many wondered how he himself had fared after the terrific leap from the second story to the lawn which he must have made."

Lab accident cliché prompt: During their second year in Bolton, Herbert and Narrator received a dead monkey from the local circus owner, who commissioned them to turn it into a skeleton specimen. Excited by the chance to test their new formula, the young doctors injected the serum into the monkey's body, successfully reanimated it, but the monkey became violent and spilled some serum onto Herbert's waist before it spewed blood and died. Nothing strange after a few hours, until Herbert uncharacteristically called it a night and retreated into his bedroom. Confused, Narrator sneaked in and found Herbert touching himself, even begged him to help him soothe "this asinine anatomy reaction". The scene shocked Narrator, but he stepped into Herbert's room nonetheless and kissed Herbert's desperate lips. A few weeks later, the owner of the local circus got what he wanted, and the young doctors got the money, although the circus owner would never know the reason they smiled so brightly on the day he paid them.
