i’d say they are!

the vast majority of spiders are completely non-aggressive however. they act in self defense and many bites from spiders are purely accidental (getting trapped in clothing, being squashed etc). no spider will go out of its way to chase you or attack you unprovoked. people also overlook how spiders attempt to deter predators like us from harming them without even attacking us - tarantulas use threatening postures, some orbweavers shake their webs and jumpers will give warning lunges towards the threat, and only then if the threat persists they’ll take it further. venom is a last resort in most cases as it’s a precious resource.

i understand that some people are traumatized (i use this word genuinely, not glibly!) by growing up in social circles where if you had the wrong opinion on steven universe all your friends would stop talking to you forever. but you have Got to stop channeling that energy into aggressively demanding validation for all your media tastes from strangers who you see criticising them. it is a deeply unpleasant way to act!
