LORDY, this was a (wonderful) task. 

By no means is this ALL of the witchy CC i have installed, but it is a lot of my favorites. Luckily, I have two finds blogs! The first is @carofinds​ which is where a lot of the general CC goes. “Join Elton John in rehab as ROCKETMAN explored love, addition, and fantasy.”

Discussing the newest musical rockstar biopic of ROCKETMAN inevitably leads to comparisons to last year’s BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. Especially with director Dexter Fletcher’s involvement with both films, ROCKETMAN is forced to compete with the Freddie Mercury biopic in terms of it’s quality and entertainment values. While the rest of this review will not consist of comparisons between the two films, I can say that I prefer ROCKETMAN over BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY.

ROCKETMAN is the latest rockstar biopic focusing on the life and career of Elton John, portrayed by Taron Egerton. From his rough childhood to his legacy of becoming the greatest rockstar of his era, ROCKETMAN focuses less on precise historical accuracy in favor of elaborate musical fantasy numbers. Think of the film less as being based on a true story and more as a film adaptation of a hypothetic Elton John Broadway show. Go in expecting characters to break into song and a soundtrack order that fits the emotions of the scenes instead of playing in proper release order.

There’s no ROCKETMAN without Elton John, as Taron Egerton completely transforms into the role both with his acting and singing. This is a career-defining performance for Egerton that indeed shows off his creative energy and emotional acting. His performance of Elton John’s legendary music is beyond spectacular at how similar, yet unique, his version sounds to the original. Just off Egerton’s performance alone, ROCKETMAN is a must-see event!

Along with the fantastic leading performance is the supporting cast that equally contributing a part to the film. The main standouts include Bryce Dallas Howard as Elton’s mom, Jamie Bell as his longtime songwriter, and Richard Madden as his shady manager. All these roles feel appropriately fleshed out and expanded upon that increases your investment in Elton’s story.

While ROCKETMAN follows a reasonably generic storyline, it remains exceptionally investing due to the main focus being on Elton John’s rehabilitation from sex, drugs, and alcohol. As the story progresses forward and Elton is at the top of his career, he slowly goes down a dark path where he becomes increasingly hostile. Addiction is a general topic in biopics that can become tiring and cliche when lazily showcased. Thankfully, ROCKETMAN is full of creativity that boosts the overtone subject matter with the art of its storytelling.

ROCKETMAN represents the life of Elton John through appropriately placing his songs to represent different points in his life. Rather than categorizing the soundtrack in release order, director Dexter Fletcher made the wise move to use Elton John’s songs to covey the emotions of the story. As Elton John is hitting his highs and lows, the most powerful song is put in to convey the feelings felt onscreen. The order the soundtrack is organized in the most effective way that truly makes the film as a whole a work of art.

As impressive as ROCKETMAN lands involving its soundtrack and characters, the story does have a couple of dull moments that could have been paced more effectively. Mainly in the middle of the film, some minimum elements of Elton’s life could have been removed to make the runtime feel more smooth. Additionally, the movie ends on a brief finale that doesn’t feel as impactful as other music biopics. As excellent at the song used for the ending is a fantastic number that establishes the final emotional point of the film, it does feel too short and anticlimactic.

ROCKETMAN is both a well made and entertaining music biopic that lands as one of the greats in the genre. Taron Egerton is fantastic as Elton John as he works off a deep and talented supporting cast. The music is, of course, excellent, but the order of the songs truly adds to the emotional values of the film. ROCKETMAN is definitely worth your time at the movie theaters this summer. indeed

I like to actually play the game.

Fix the game. Improve the A.I. Fix the bugs. Develop the features. 5 years & the game mechanics are still as shallow as my spit. I’m talking basic shit man. E.g. a family tab in the relationship panel, in - lawes registration, more relationship status in CAS. Basic bitch shit that make a difference. Evolve the core of the game. Add an attraction system, revamp the Whim system as you did the gardening cause the whim system is woeful. You know this because you patched in the option to hide it. Who does that to a good feature? A feature that is meant to help shape & individualised Sims. I hate that TS4 influencers don’t make noise about how shallow the gameplay is, especially if they have played TS2 and/TS3. They’ll often say how they wish this from TS2 was in TS4. Or how they don’t understand why that from TS3 isn’t in the TS4, then in the same breath turn around & say ‘it’s okay though’. It’s not okay though is it? You wouldn’t have mentioned a damn thing if it was okay. This whole 350 swatch crap just fuels my conviction that Maxis thinks like this

If it wasn’t for the modding community (MVPs baby!) I couldn’t play this game. I don’t think this game would be as financially successful as it/has been. I remember when Maxis took pride in the quality of their games (TS2) now, not so much.
