My favorite part of every Columbo episode is the moments that the murderer realizes:
1) Columbo might not be as stupid as he seems when he reveals just clever enough of a theory/connection that it freaks them out, only for them to brush off their concern like “nahh, just look at him, it had to be a lucky guess”
2) when they realize that Columbo fully heartedly suspects them and will NOT be dropping it, and the increasing stress of how many details he’s already figured out laid out before them mixed with juuuust enough confidence that they think they could probably still get away with it (especially when so many of them have plenty of nepotism to help them out)
3) the moment when it clicks that Columbo’s whole thing is a cleverly constructed ruse and they fucking fell for it
