Tick tock drop
So... coming from someone who hasn't trained in gymnastics for 10 years after a broken wrist (there's some laziness there too- I was never that good) how difficult would it be for me to get into aerial silks after training my muscles? I KNOW that's something I need to work on but silks and the hoop are my main goals after that
I have zero gymnastic background, but I do believe if I did it would help a whole bunch. I'm naturally very flexible, but there are still some contortions I struggle with. I started with wimpy noodle arms and just slowly worked my way up as I got better at silks--they were how I trained. I recently got a pull up bar that goes in a doorframe and that helps quite a bit. A necessity for silks is being able to hold your own body weight. If you've got that, then silks should be up your alley. They are challenging, but such fun :)Good luck with your training and keep me posted!
Your blog is absolutely awesome! I have loved ariel silks for a long time and gorgeous redheads even longer! I can't wait to see more post from you.
Well thank you! I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon–i just got my own portable rig :) also silks are pretty amazing, if I do say so myself Thanks for reaching out!
I hope this isn't offensive but I'm wondering if you've ever done any pole dancing and if you find it similar to aerial dance. I imagine that they both engage quite a lot of muscles that one wouldn't use on a regular basis.
I have tried pole! It just wasn't for me--it is pretty darn painful. Kudos to the women and men who do it on the regular, I just hurt myself a few too many times lol silks are a bit more forgiving. They are very similar and if you are good on one apparatus, it's likely you'll be good on another :) at my studio we have many women who come from pole studios and they rock it. Unfortunately, it's hard for people to understand that pole isn't always a sexual activity--you most definitely are not a stripper if you attend a pole fitness class. For some reason it makes people uncomfortable. Anyways, yes. Silks and pole are GREAT for training for each other. They even have poles with a silk strand coming from the top to incorporate the two. Hope that helped! And good luck!
A split from today's fly time
For the lovely lady who asked for a breakdown of this move! I apologise, I ran out of tail! But you get the general idea :)
So good to be on silks again! Here's a pentagon to celebrate
Was surprised with tickets to see this marvelous show!
my performance that allowed me to take home 2 medals!
This is a bit random, but what song is playing in your most recent video? ^^ The one where you're wearing all purple and on the purple silks? Thanks!!
Unfortunately i dont know the name of the song :/ i know its by the weekend. That song clip was on my phone and i used it--i can try and post rhe whole clip and someone may be able to identify it. Sorry!
Wow, you are incredible. I have mad respect for what you do. Thank you.
Thank you!! Its so much fun :)
I won two medals!!
