It’s been 27 years since Deforest Kelley passed and I want to thank @spawksstuff for all of the memorial posts. After reading all of the posts one thing I’ve noticed is that no one had a negative thing to say about one. I truly hope that he knew how much people loved and appreciated him. It also showed how beautiful he was inside and out as well. You are truly missed De and you made an impact on me.

90 years ago to the day, De had his graduation ceremony from high school.

What kind of student was De?

De: Oh, high school teachers down here in front. Wants to know what kind of a high school kid I was. Well, I was a poor Baptist preacher's son. I was going to a place called Decatur High School. Yay, Decatur. And my father had no church at the time and we were on WPA and NYA. I was working after school cleaning up the lockers and that sorta thing. And I did fairly well in school except math. I just couldn't stand math. I've never been able to use that x + y=2 to this day.
