heyyy so um. long story short: last year was the worst year mentally for me thus far. ridiculous amount of stress that i later learned was due to some stuff i needed medication for. the more you know i guess. either way, i got no work done. yes, i did have plans to update, but every time, i was in the middle of an episode and i'd go "ohhh that's..." and decide to do it when i'm eventually not in one.
so here we are now.
okay, have you made progress?
shockingly, yes. I'd said a couple times before that my main issue with 102 was that i didn't know how i wanted its plot to move forward and how it was going to tie in with future stuff. but!! i've actually got it figured out now :0 i know the overall message i wanna send (←important), what i want to develop, on and on!! plot too!!! just gotta figure out a series of events (this is difficult for me because it is big and long. challenging).
i even started a couple comics while i dabbled in figuring out if i wanted to do requiem first, so that should give me a head start whatever year that comes around >:o
can we see your progress?
yes and no. i did end up switching the wattpad version of 102 over to the 2.0 version while i was waiting on someone back in february, so you can technically see my progress. recent progress though, I'm afraid not, I don't want to spoil anything =.=

what's up next?
my next steps are to study hnk... i'd taken notes before but a year has passed since then and i'm long due for a reread. the moment you see a video essay from me is the moment you'll know i'm set. i really want to understand my favorite series, the message it sends, and how to extend it through another lens. i also need to buy a laptop, my writing always ends up too short on mobile. i'm alive and working, don't worry ^^

i am going to revamp this blog as well after artfight, i should definitely have enough illustrations by then (≧▽≦))
I unfortunately haven't made a bunch of progress...
BUT
I have excuses:
1. artfight (I HAVE SO MUCH ART TO SHARE) (but I must get permission first) (and also gotta finish my evil schemes...)
2. taking break (reading, playing videogames, etc)
3. side project (aka working on a lil oneshot for u guys while the main story is still in the works :3) (it'll center over the winter before citrine was born :0)

now that I'm free, I will be trying my best to devote more time to my dear citrine, expanding their lore, and writing their story!!

hihi!! haven't quite said anything in a bit, aha...
buuuuuuut I'm moving at a pretty good pace!! :3 y'know that enormous gap in the plot i was talking about? i've fixed the pacing (and my math...) so that the hole'll be no problem!! ò^ó
i've been writing the plot out a bit slowly (apparently this sorta thing takes a lot of mental energy...) but i'm in a good place to write, haven't been too overwhelmed, have a better grasp on character development, and i think in around a month i'll have at least the first draft done!! ^o^
from there I'll review for plot holes, finally draw out that darned cover aaaand you just might see an update in two or three months? >:3 it'll be summer then so i'll sure as hell have a whole lot more time to work on this >:00

why:
um. I accidentally neglected half the creative process? half the story has nothing in it, I forget how long things take, yadda yadda yadda.... more or less I need time to plan.
what does that mean:
uh I won't be posting for a bit. I do have. like. the entire rewrite done? but that will for the thousandth time undergo revisions. I jumped the gun and started a halfbaked story, and I sincerely apologize ;-;
thooooough I will keep posting!!!!! just. please don't expect an update. points at that one person who has been checking 102 every day. I see the hit count tick up. how do you still trust me thank you but I don't get i
I'll keep putting little updates over here while I work on the story if anyone has questions or just wants to talk or smth :3333
in the meantime, I'll be working on actually making that darned encyclopedia phos never did!!! and figure out a million admirabilis things! really ichikawa?! why leave so much out?!!!!
also I still wanna write even if it's not a fully fledged story just yet :000 might post oneshots (may I please have requests :3 I wanna practice)

well. I put a vote in for the middle just to see what the results were. so. I'm still lost. think I'll just make another work for preservation for my friend, delete some chapters, and replace slowly 'til I'm confident with how I wrote the fourth chapter (it still needs revision... ._.)
y'know, over the course of writing this thing, I've noticed that I've made citrine a whole lot like me ._.
and through that, I've learned a lot about myself.
you'd think a character like that would be easier to write, right?

which is why I'm rewriting everything in the first place!!

then they kinda died and, a year after phos's operation, were reborn as a gem ^w^

102 covers that 102 year gap, focusing on their growth, development, and adaptation to an entirely new body with limited senses ._. living twice your lifespan kinda does things to the brain
the transition point between stories shall be when Phos wakes up again, and with that, Requiem will begin :D that one will pretty much be phos tryna figure out what the hell is going on why is everything so different

what else
may. or may not. write an encyclopedia. you'll see why. by the way one can certainly be read without the other, 102 is pretty much just a really really really long exposition. Requiem will be significantly shorter :D
