Hiiii! Could I request a sea creature / alien reader (GN) x simon who will just show off random things they just found around the blood ocean and will repeatedly tap on the iron lung until a picture is taken & simon sees whatever they found?
I don't know I thought this idea would be really cute-

Hi Anon!! Thank you for your request, I love writing for our beloved sea creature 😌💚
I'll be working on the next chapter of the series soon, I was mainly waiting for the nickname poll to end!
Our lovely mermaid creature will be nicknamed Maris :)
If Simon had been told he'd encounter horrifying creatures in this blood ocean, he probably would've fought harder to avoid this fate. However, if he would've been told that one of said creatures would treat his submarine like an excited child would a new toy, and choose to play around with him instead of ripping him apart—well, he would've thought that person was insane, quite frankly.
Nothing could have prepared him for this encounter, but at the same time he wasn't complaining. Whatever this creature was, they seemed harmless, at least to himself. The talons he saw on their hands suggested they very well could've tore their way through if they pleased. Thankfully, they didn't appear to have any reason to, and he'd like to keep it that way.
So now here he was, attempting to navigate through this ocean of hell for whatever the fuck the C.O.I. was looking for, while a terrifying yet amiable sea creature followed him along like a puppy. He could hear them, their happy trills and chirps echoing around the sub as they swam around in circles, never once leaving despite him trying to continue along.
For the umpteenth time when he trudged backwards to hit the camera button, he was met with the sight of their wide, pitch-black eyes, sharp teeth and waves of hair. A sigh left him in response, slightly annoyed at this point since they kept blocking him from seeing anything else.
"Can you move, please? I'm trying to find... something." Simon called out, his deep voice layered with exhaustion. He ran a hand down his face, rubbing away some sweat as he trailed back to the control panel. "Not fucking sure what, but I can't do that regardless if you're hovering in front of the camera the whole time."
A low humming came from the wall to the right of him, its tune sounding confused. Then not a second after a pitched noise followed, enthusiastic to the point he could imagine the creature perking up. There was a swishing around the vessel that shook it a bit, before he could hear the parting blood of the ocean as they swam away.
For a moment he stared at the side of the hull with puzzlement, until he shook his head and brushed it off. The creature was gone now, so he could get back to work without the distraction—not that he wanted to. Unfortunately, this would be the cost for his freedom.
He resumed the routine like normal, switching between steering the submarine and hitting the camera button to take pictures. So far he wasn't having any luck, only being met with the ocean floor, caves and empty space each time.
The lack of progress was starting to frustrate him, and the sweltering heat inside this hunk of metal wasn't helping with his rising anger, either. He found himself hitting the button a little harder each time, shifting the lever forward with a force that could've broke the rusted metal, while his knuckles turned white from the grip.
Right when he was at his wits end, ready to find whatever he could and hurl it across the hull, a light tapping met the front. He paused in his blinded rage, chest heaving and eyes wild as they snapped to that area, his expression slowly dropping.
The tapping continued, making his confusion shift to realization and relief. That creature must've returned, and instead of being irritated by it, he found himself welcoming the distraction this time. It wasn't much, but at least it was something to keep his mind sane for a short period of time, like a break of sorts—to prevent him from breaking something first.
"Back again, huh?" He called out, wanting to ensure it was them and not something else he should be concerned about. When a delighted coo met his ears, he gave a breath of a laugh.
That was going to be the end of that interaction, or so he thought. Once he stopped talking the tapping on the metal continued, and he even swore they started doing it more insistently. His brows furrowed together, not sure what the creature was trying to do.
He stared at where the sound was coming from, shifting awkwardly where he stood in the center of the vessel. "Did you... need something?" He asked hesitantly, wincing at how ridiculous that sounded. Yet they gave a chirp, still tapping away at the metal.
There was a small pause as he tried to wrack his brain for an answer. Clearly they were trying to get his attention towards something, but that wasn't exactly possible given his situation. The only way he could see was through the camera attached to this thing... Oh.
Now understanding what they wanted, Simon made his way back towards the glowing green button, giving it a firm press. After a few seconds the camera flashed, and with it the noise of their claw clicking against the metal halted.
His brown eyes squinted, trying to make out all the details of the grainy, black and white photo. It showed them up close, yet far away enough to reveal an object in their hand, showing it to the camera. He wasn't exactly sure what it was – something spherical, smooth and shiny – nor why they were so eager to show it to him.
Then after a couple seconds, it clicked. They were trying to help him find the something he said he was looking for.
Even as the picture faded away, he found himself staring at the black screen in silent awe. It was already unfathomable that this creature somehow understood him and was friendly, but now on top of that, they were trying to help him. He couldn't wrap his head around it even if he tried—it was almost like they were just a human in a different form.
A tap met the hull, singular and questioning. He blinked a couple of times, still in shock over his current revelation, yet managed a response. "That's, uh... not what I'm looking for. But thank you..?"
His gratitude sounded more like a question, struggling to comprehend the actions of this horrifyingly intelligent creature. Yet they didn't seem to take notice of it, only providing a low, rumbling hum of acknowledgement before he could hear them swimming away again.
This time Simon didn't resume steering the submarine. Instead he patiently waited by the button, finding himself intrigued to see if they would come back with something else. All the anger from before had melted away, replaced by pure curiosity.
Sure enough, he could hear them swishing back up to the sub, before the tapping resumed again. Without missing a beat he hit the button, the screen in front of him flashing after a few seconds.
Like before he wasn't able to tell what they held, yet he grimaced at how... alive it looked. Then again, he was in an ocean of blood, so he supposed it shouldn't be that surprising seeing that kind of horrid stuff.
Shaking off the thought, he called out to them again. "Sorry, that's not it either. I don't..." He trailed off, debating with himself for a second, before continuing. "Think you can try again for me?"
Originally he was going to tell them it was pointless, that he'd have no clue whether or not they had grabbed something of importance for him. But then a softer part of him realized this was rather peaceful—sitting here, watching a sea creature bring him random items or organisms, instead of constantly worrying about his inevitable fate. He'd have to get back to his punishment eventually, but for now, he could humor this and let himself relax.
A smile cracked on his lips when they gave a whistle that echoed around him, pitched with an enthusiasm that didn't need words to understand. He swore this time when they swam off it was quicker, even rocking the submarine more than usual, causing him to chuckle a bit.
It was such an odd situation, one he would've never predicted. Yet now with it being a reality, he found himself enjoying the company of this mysterious creature. If he had unlimited oxygen, food and water, he'd much prefer to stay down here with them then ever come back up to the C.O.I. At least this creature didn't want him dead.
They came back again, and this time they didn't need to tap since he was already hitting the button. His eyes squinted, still trying and failing to make out whatever they held each time, like a game of sorts. It was no use since he had no clue about what was even down here, yet he'd continue to guess in his head anyway.
From that point on, the pattern continued—them going to fetch whatever they could find to show him, and him inspecting it after they got back. At one point he began sitting on the floor, having been there for so long his legs started to tire from standing.
Everytime he'd make a little comment about what they brought, things along the lines of: "That looks... interesting," or "Maybe you should put that back, it's moving," and his personal favorite, "That's just a piece of metal you took off the submarine. I could hear you doing it." He swore he heard them laugh afterwards, too, like a deep rumbling with small puffs in between.
He wasn't exactly sure how much time had passed, nor did he care. The C.O.I. could drag him back up whenever they felt like it. For now, he was more interested in observing and learning about this creature.

3rd POV
The Great Pyramid of Mereen was fresher than the rest of the city, especially during the night, when the sun no longer burnt and the moon rose to soothe away the extreme warmth.
Daenerys turns in distress around the bed, for dragon dreams plagued her again.
She was surrounded by snow in her dream, the gown she wore far too thin to protect her from the roaring storm. She could not see ahead or behind; the snow hid everything around her. She looked around for something, someone, but not even the sun answered.
"Drogon! Viserion! Rhaegal! Y/n!" She yells.
Daenerys does not exactly fear the cold nor the snow, but rather she can sense something hidden behind the white that covers the place: death. A danger too real, that for now seems far but soon enough will find itself closer to her and those she loves.
The ground beneath her turns from hard snow into deep waters, and she falls into it. She does not drown, but she cannot breathe; she can merely fall deeper into the darkness.
Daenerys wakes with a gasp, violet eyes bright against the darkness of her chambers. You're awakened by her gasp, hearing as she catches her breath, clearly in distress. You sit up and light the candle by your bedside, then turn to face Daenerys, watching as she sits up, the thin blanket falling from her shoulders to rest by her lap.
She quickly turns to look your way, as if making sure you're there, that you are not one of her many dragon-dreams but real.
Your hand finds hers when you notice her distress and you move closer to her. She holds your hand in hers tightly, staring down at them as she traces your knuckles.
"My queen, what is it? Another dream?" You ask, a gentle and quiet tone in your voice.
Daenerys nods, her thumb tracing your fingers lightly.
"You know you do not need to call me by my title when we're alone," she reminds you.
"Forgive me, I forget at times."
A silence falls in the room; you can feel the way her hand shakes against yours, lightly, but still there regardless.
"Would you like to speak of it, the dream? Perhaps it would make you feel better."
"I do not wish to bother you with them."
"You wouldn't; you could never," you counter. Her eyes finally rise to meet yours. Tired eyes that have seen too much and hide too much, thinking it is better to carry the weight by herself than place it upon others. "I am here, Dany, always. You do not need to be strong with me, like you need to be strong with your people. I'm just Y/n behind doors, remember?"
Dany smiles at that, though it's not the smile you're so familiar with. It doesn't reach her cheeks and feels heavy, like she has to always wear a smile.
"If you do not wish to speak about the dream, then let us merely talk; I'm here to listen." You move closer to her, sitting in front of her now, holding both of her hands.
She hesitates for a moment, but the look in your eyes is so kind and sweet that she cannot bring herself to stay quiet.
"I suppose I worry. Here in Mereen I do not know the people nor the culture enough; I worry I'll fail them. And the dreams show me so much but explain little; I worry for something that may never come or will take time to. It's so much at times. I am eternally grateful to be the Mother of Dragons and Khaleesi, but it happened so suddenly; I was not ready for it, and I still do not feel ready. But I must be strong for them." She admits.
You tighten your grip on her hands, bringing her closer.
"You must think it foolish of me to complain of this, when you and your family have lost so much," she adds.
You shake your head. "Not at all. You have lost much as well. No one ever asked you if you wished to lead, but regardless, you decided to lead your people and help countless more from a pain you had experienced yourself. You may still have much to learn, but so does every ruler; we're not born with complete knowledge. You have people around you to help you. You have me."
Dany smiled at that, the wide smile that you loved so much, bright and happy, that could light up any dark night. One of your hands rose to cup her cheek, tracing it with your thumb.
"And whenever you do not wish to be strong, you can merely be Dany, who grew up inside that red door, with the lemon tree by your window. I love the Queen and Mother of Dragons as much as I love Dany. You are safe with me, always."
"And I love you too. Whether you are a high lady or merely Y/n, exiled and who misses home."
She leans forward and rests her forehead against yours. You smile at her response and move to lean down on the bed, pulling her with you. You lift the blanket over her again and pull her closer. Her hands rest on your waist while yours rest on her cheeks.
"Do you think we might return one day, to our homes?" She asks.
"I hope so. I would love nothing more than to meet this place with a mysterious red door and famous lemon tree," you respond. She chuckles at your words.
"I'd like that to, and to meet your home as well. Once I'm queen you will be able to return back there, I promise you. Your father will be forgiven and all will be left in the past."
"I'm afraid we had no lemon trees, but you can visit the sea, it's warm, you'll like it."
She leans closer, pressing a quick kiss on your lips before meeting your eyes once more. "I'm sure I will."
The dreams would come and go. Some nights would prove more of a challenge, and the days would continue to grow harder as she learned to rule over the people. But she was happy to know she'd have you by her side regardless of what might happen.
Thank you for reading! Any likes and reblogs are appreciated!
Summary:The attack from WCKD left deep mental scars only Gally knows how to properly handle.
Blood.
Blood was the only thing that really made sense that night. Blood was the only thing around. It was the only thing that connected me to reality, the only thing I knew was there, the only thing I knew was real. I had felt it pumping through my veins, the same way I smelt it when I shot Chuck, the same way I saw Y/N fall on the floor clutching the side of her face as it poured through her hands.
Blood.
Blood was the only thing to exist.
We both exist now. She made it through the Maze after a freak accident with a Griever ended with a knife to her eye, I made it through the Maze with yet another sting and a gun, and we got picked up by what was at first just masked weirdos who I wasn't totally convinced wouldn't kill us or do some more weird WCKD klunk.
They didn't though. Right Arm found us, her unconscious from the adrenaline crash and me from having a spear a mere two inches from my heart. She unsurprisingly doesn't like to talk about it. To be fair, she never gets to forget it. When she wears her patch over her eye, people question her about why, if they can see what her eye looks like, how it affects her, if her other senses are good, and every invasive thing they can think of. If she doesn't, they gawk at her like she's their personal entertainment. They act like she's not a person and doesn't have one working eye.
I’m not sure if it's what she experienced in the Maze, the loss of vision in that eye, or a mix, but she experiences all these things that I can't even begin to explain. Night terrors, paranoia, hallucinations, and more. Sometimes she tells me what they are, sometimes she doesn't. Sometimes she lets me know when they're happening, and sometimes she's frozen as she stares at something that isn't real or breaking down on the floor.
She has to avoid certain things more than others. Stress, surprises, sudden big changes, and probably other stuff we haven't figured out yet.
We know about violence though. Violence and loud sounds.
“Absolutely not,”I said firmly.
“We need an extra hand-”
“Then, find one,”I dismissed. Still, Brandon insisted on following me, trying to justify why I should tell Y/N she had to come with us to the city.
“Please? I can't find her-”
“Good.”
“Come on. It's just for a few hours. It won't be-”
“Yeah? Well, a few seconds is all it takes to trigger something. Do you want to risk hurting her like that? And if you're too much of an egomaniac to care about that, you're going to have to answer to me if something happens to her,”I warned, not bothering to look at him. I also didn't have to as he walked off, grumbling something under his breath. Not that I care what. He can call me any name he wants as long as he leaves Y/N alone.
♡ - - - ♡
I was right about having her stay behind. Because they're back. I certainly didn't go into the city with the intention of finding the Gladers, but I didn't plan on a lot of things that have happened to me. I didn't plan on trying to sacrifice Greenie and Teresa. I didn't plan on leaving the Maze. I didn't plan on killing Chuck. I didn't plan on almost dying. I didn’t plan on being in Right Arm. I didn't plan on falling in love with the only person I had left. I didn't plan on sharing a bed with her every night.
I have though, just like I have found connections to our old life that I was sure were as good as gone.
Surprise surprise, Brandon. There were angry mobs, there were bombs, and there were kidnappings. It's almost like taking down a powerful organization that murders people isn't a peaceful thing. Shocker.
She stayed behind, working on the creation of the operation. Planning what the next move would be, finding out what WCKD was up to, thinking of any obstacles, all of it. She's the brains, and I’m the brawns.
So she's not here.
She's not here, and I already know how this will end.
She's not here so I took my mask off and waited for the inevitable.
Thomas stared at me with pure hatred. The rage in his eyes was like nothing I’ve ever seen, chilling me to my core. Not even when I hurt him, did he look at me like that. It was nothing dramatic. No exaggerated wide eyes or open mouth. Just a shocked rage.
As the shock faded, the second he found the ability to move, he grabbed the collar of my shirt and punched me square in the jaw, knocking me to the floor. Staying still, I allowed him to tightly grip my shirt while holding his fist to my face. If he punches me again, he punches me. If he doesn't, he doesn't.
Until I heard familiar soft cries that would haunt my dreams now, that I want nothing more than to be safe and well. But she’ll never be well again. Not completely. She can only do so much.
Not caring about it it made him angrier, I shoved him off of me, pushing him to the ground before carefully yet swiftly sitting with her in the far corner. Not yet noticing, she had both her eyes covered as her sobs grew louder, making her words incoherent.
“Y/N, it's not real. Okay? None of it is real,”I coaxed. Shaking her head, she started rocking back and forth while holding her head in her hands.
She hates it when I do this. She really, really does.
But she needs to see as much of reality as possible. So far, it's been one of the few things that grounds her faster.
Gently grabbing her face, I pulled her head out of her knees, making her look at me. She started shaking while holding her head harder, her palms pressing the back of my hands. Not wanting her to hurt herself, I slowly pried them away while still whispering soothing words.
“Gally,”She just barely murmured before saying something else I couldn't understand.
“Yeah. Yeah, it's Gally, okay? It's me,”I said gently.
“Gally,”She repeated through shaky breaths before throwing her arms around me, burying her face in my neck.
“I know. I know,”I assured her, rubbing her back.
“Thomas. Thomas isn't real,”She insisted. Knowing better than to feed into the delusions and to add something big to her plate when she was in the middle of panicking, I just kept holding her. “It's bloody. The wall’s bloody,”She said through heavy breaths.
“I don't see any blood.”
“I’m not crazy,”She said in a more steady but still barely audible voice.
“Everyone knows you aren't crazy.”
“They think I’m crazy. They don't see the Grievers. They don't see it when they don't have a body. They don't see it.”
“The Grievers are back at WCKD. Remember? They made it to hurt us. And people couldn't be alive if they didn't have a body.”
Gripping my shirt, she sniffled as her breathing started getting a little more even. Knowing she had tired herself out, I kissed her temple before picking her up, pulling her to my chest. Curling up, she gently wrapped her arms around my shoulders as I carried her out the room to get to ours.
Thomas can do whatever he wants when this is over. I don't care if he beats me to the brink of death. As long as I’m good enough to comfort her when she needs it, it's okay.
Walking past the door we leave cracked for exactly this reason, I then shut it with my foot before slowly setting her down on the bed. The second her head hit the pillow, she was out.
I’ll sleep beside her. I always will. I’ll hold her as she takes a nap.
I just need to sit for a moment and keep thinking about the best way to make her better. For real this time.
Can you make a fic based off of wife!reader & husband!miguel?

————————————————————————
Your tired gaze stared half-heartedly at the paper in your hands. Another negative pregnancy test. As soon as you saw the result your crumbled up the paper and threw it into the bin underneath the sink. Taking a deep breath as you lean your hands against the marble counter top.
"Y/n! Where did you go?! We're out of beers down here!" Your husband's voice roared from downstairs followed by his boastful laugh.
You claw your nails against the palm of your hands daring for blood to spill. Not like your husband would care if you hurt yourself. Probably wouldn't blink an eye if you slit your wrists here and dropped dead on the bathroom floor. Your gaze went to the large sparkling rock on your left hand as you felt another piece of your heart break. With every fiber of your being did you miss the man who gave you this ring five years ago. How you would do anything in the universe to get that version of your husband back.
"Y/n!"
"Coming!"
You make sure you look presentable before rushing downstairs to the main living space. You put up a loving and happy smile as you head towards your husband who was sitting down on the sofa chair talking with his friends from work.
"Finally you come down. Can you get us more beer?"
"Is that seriously why you called me downstairs?" You chuckled trying to hide your annoyance.
"We're out of beer. I thought you could be a doll and go get us some more." Miguel slapped your ass making your face redden in embarrassment as you slap his hand away, glaring down at him. He and his friends only laughed in return as he grabbed you by the waist and placed you on his lap. You pulled back as you could smell the beer on his breath.
"Don't you think you've had enough?"
"I've heard enough of your complaining. Am I right?" He laughed followed by his other friends.
"Hey Miguel maybe you should go teach her a lesson in the bedroom." One of his guy friends chimed in. You felt your gut raise to your throat as you saw the creepy look on his face as he said that. God when did Miguel start hanging around such sleeze bags? You missed his old colleagues like Jess and Peter. But after your last miscarriage about a year ago you haven't seen them since. You honestly haven't seen your real husband either.
"How about you guys enjoy the football match and I'll pick up more beer and snacks for you." You get out of Miguel's lap before he can decide if he wants to take up his friend's suggestion.
Without evening a glance from your husband who went back to talking to his friends as you grab your coat, gloves, scarf, and purse and head out to the store.
The ice chill of a December night wrap around your body as you walk outside. Maybe you take the long way. Let him and his asshole friends wait longer.
As you walk on the street you notice all the Christmas decorations throughout the city. If anyone was in their apartment they wouldn't even know it was the festive holiday.
A couple not much older than you and Miguel walk past you, arm in arm enjoying each other company and whispering sweet comments. You felt extra cold on your right side, the side Miguel was always on when walking outside together arm in arm as you rest you head against his bicep. Now you rarely go anywhere together and when you do your always a foot a part from each other.
You quickly wipe a tear falling down your cheek as the couple walking past you briefly smiles at you in pity.
As you walk into the store you notice a woman look up at something in the sky in awe as you hear her say to someone, "Look! It's Spiderman."
You lazily walk down each isle trying your best to waste more time and annoy your husband. After getting the beer and chips your husband likes as well as a couple of bottles of Chardonnay for yourself you lazily push the cart passed the electronic section where quite a few people were stopped in front of the TVs watching the news.
"Wow that spiderman sure is amazing." Said one man.
"I saw him in person once. He is so big!" Said a woman.
"He has the perfect physique. I wonder if his face is just as attractive." Said another woman talking to her friend.
"I heard he has a deep voice." She replied.
"Whatever girl is with him is so lucky. I'm jealous."
You rolled your eyes from the conversation you eavesdropped as you decided you spent enough time in the store. Ever since this superhuman appeared from nowhere three years ago everyone in Nueva York has been adoring him. Sure, your grateful that the crime rate has gone down significantly, but you didn't understand the hype around him.
After checking out you head back to the penthouse apartment you supposedly called home. Despite such a horrible year between you and Miguel with the constant fights you still loved him with your whole being. You hope maybe one day the man you fell in love with would one day come back to you with a loving smile and open arms to hold you close.
You take a deep breath before sighing as you turn the key in the lock before entering. As you enter the living space all eyes were on you.
"Finally she's back. What took you so long? The store is only two blocks away."Miguel impatiently asked as he walked up to you and snatched the case of beer in your hands.
"Your welcome?" You lightly glare at him which he returns before heading back to the living space.
You stomp after him as he sits back in the same spot. He looks up to you in question for standing in front of him.
"Seriously Miguel?"
"Ooo someone is in trouble with the missus." Said one of his friends who became quiet when Miguel shot him a glare.
Miguel grabbed your waist and forced you to sit on his lap. With the death grip he has on your waist you dared not move.
"Your mind is in circles today. It must have been when you banged it earlier today when cleaning under the table. She such a clutz, no wonder she keeps having miscarriages. Even if we could have a full time pregnancy she probably wouldn't be a good mother either." Miguel chuckles.
A smack echoed in the room as his head was turned to the side with a large red mark and small scratch on his cheek from the large diamond on your wedding band. You immediately got out of his arms and stormed upstairs to your bedroom.
You laid on the bed facing the alarm clock on your side of the bed watching as the hours went by. It wasn't until the clock struck 3am that you heard Miguel stagger into the bedroom. You felt arms pull you against a warm body as lips met your neck.
You wiggled your body out of his grip.
"Por favor mi amor." (Please my love)
You turn your head to face him as you shoot him a light glare. "I'm not in the mood Miguel. Your words really hurt me. I can't barely stand to look at you right now."
You heard him sigh as a chill was felt against your back from the lack of his warmth. You felt the dagger in your heart press deeper, making it hard for air to come into your lungs.
The deafening silence was too much to bear as you immediately get up from the bed and head to the closet to get dressed. When your dressed you leave the bedroom to head downstairs, immediately your followed by your curious husband.
"Where are you going at this hour?"
"Out." You head to the front door to grab your purse. Before you could leave you were stopped by his hand around your wrist. You glared up at him.
"It's not safe for you to be out by yourself. If you need to go for a walk so badly let me come with you." You see concern in his brown eyes, making yourself almost consider his offer. His soft eyes briefly remind you of time before all this heartache. But his words from earlier appeared back in your mind and your bleeding heart once a again turned cold.
"I'm going on this walk to get space away from you." You opened the door a few inches before it was slammed closed again by an hand above you. Your back was against the door with Miguel right in front of you inches away. His fingers lift your chin as his eyes move from your lips to your eyes.
"Please don't go. At least wait till morning. Then we can go out and talk." His lips brushed against yours but before they fully met you pushed him back.
"No. I don't have anything to say to you. I'll only talk to the Miguel who loves me and treats me they way he use to and wouldn't dare speak the words you did today or have you been treating me this past year. If you keep this up...I don't...I don't think I can stay in this marriage any longer." You look to him, eyes wide in shock from your words before you opened the door and left.
As you made it outside you were relieved that he didn't follow you. You continue to walk until you find your self in Central Park where you find a bench.
As soon as you sit the tears fall down your face as you contemplate everything that's happen this year wondering what went wrong. Your weary body and mind succumb to the cold of the night as you pass out from exhaustion on the bench.
Miguel stood before your sleeping state. Reddish-brown eyes gaze down at the clear exhaustion shown in your face in worry as he picks you up bridal style, whispering, "I promise you'll shed no more tears after tonight."

Hi hi if you’re still taking requests then literally anything with Hayden please, I love him and his sweet himbo-esque ways so much
here you go! i hope you enjoy!!

“Do you ever wonder what it'd be like if we never met?”
“Yes. Usually I think my life would be much better, no one would be there to annoy me.”
Hayden sat up, glaring at Ilya, who was grinning at him from across the room. “I wasn't talking to you, asshole.”
Shane, who was sitting beside Hayden and was the actual person the question was directed towards, shrugged. “I mean, not really. We were drafted to the same team in the same draft. I think we'd have met no matter what.”
“No, I mean like, what if we didn't play hockey? Or played for different teams, but never really talked?” Hayden clarified.
Shane looked thoughtful as he considered Hayden's question. Hayden expected him to say well I would never not play hockey, because Shane could never picture living a life without hockey. But then Shane shrugged again.
“I guess I don't really consider hypotheticals like that. Why?”
Now it was Hayden's turn to shrug. “I don't know, it's just like—I wonder if we'd be any different from how we ended up. Like what if I hadn't been chosen by Montreal, and ended up surrounded by assholes and then became one myself?”
“Well, you are surrounded by assholes in Montreal.” Shane pointed out. “And you kind of are an asshole.”
Hayden grinned a little. “Okay, yeah, but I'm not the same kind of asshole. Anyway, it's just like…me and you are always around for stuff each other does.”
From his spot across the room, Rozanov made an amused sound. “I feel like you were not there for a lot of what Shane did. Or did I miss something?”
“Shut up, Ilya,” Shane threw a small pillow towards Rozanov, who chuckled as he caught it. “You know what he means, stop being a dick.”
Shane turned back to Hayden. “So you think if we hadn't met, our lives would be different now?”
“Maybe. Like, what if we have more impact on each other's lives than we realize?”
Now Shane was raising a brow at Hayden, giving him the same look that Jackie sometimes did when he was being particularly dense. “Hayd, you definitely impacted my life like, a lot.”
Hayden felt his face heat. “I know! I mean other than that. Smaller things, like, what's it called. The butterfly effect?”
“The butterfly effect? So little things you and I have done have drastically changed the outcome of our lives?” Shane asked thoughtfully.
Hayden wasn't sure if he necessarily meant drastic changes. Was butterfly effect the wrong phrase? “Well, I just watched this movie where the main character and her best friend get into a huge fight and one of them says like, ‘I wish we never met!’ And then she wakes up and her best friend isn't in her life and everything is different.”
Shane looked like he wasn’t sure what Hayden wanted him to say, like one of those instances where he thought there was a correct response. So Hayden continued, “Like, what if you and I never met and it somehow led to me never meeting Jackie?”
“How would that happen? You met her at a bar.”
“Yeah, but you were there! What if you and I hadn’t ever met, so we didn’t become friends, and then we didn’t hang out at all and I never went to that club with the team and met Jackie. I’d have nothing!”
Shane nodded slowly. “I guess it’s possible. You don’t think you would have gone out with the team if I wasn’t there?”
Hayden considered the question. He’d met Jackie when they were both only twenty, so it wasn’t like it’d be surprising for him to go to the club with his team without Shane. “Well, I probably still would have gone out, but I might’ve been in a different spot or something and then Jackie and I wouldn’t have seen each other.”
“I don’t think us not meeting would affect me and Ilya.” Shane said, glancing over at Ilya, who looked like he wasn’t listening to the conversation anymore. Hayden had a feeling this was an incorrect analysis on his part.
“Well, no, probably not.” He shrugged. “You guys met before me and you did, so it definitely wouldn’t change your meeting. But maybe there’s something else that would have gone differently.”
“Yes,” Ilya said, and of course he had been listening all along. “I can think of one thing. One summer day, Shane’s super annoying friend thought, ‘I should call my very best and only bro.’ And then–”
Shane turned to glare at Ilya. “Shut the fuck up,” he hissed. “Can’t you go somewhere else? Go play with Anya or something.”
Hayden laughed, but then realized that Jackie sounded like that to him more often than he’d like to admit, so he shut up. Even if he wanted to laugh at Ilya getting scolded for being an asshole.
“It’s a funny story!” Ilya had that stupid smirk on his face, his hands up in surrender. “But I will not tell it, I guess. No fun to be had under Captain Hollander!”
Shane made a weird face, glanced between Hayden and Ilya, then laughed at something. Hayden suddenly felt like he was the only person in the room who didn’t understand some silent language, because Ilya put his hands down and shook his head.
“If only the world knew you, Shane.” He shook his head, grinning. “That would be the real butterfly effect.”
Then Ilya got up, kissed Shane on the head, and left the room.
“What the fuck was that about?” Hayden asked, smiling as well for some reason. Something about that interaction just seemed like it should be something to smile about.
The way Shane looked—like he was sheepish or something—still felt like such a new thing to Hayden. It was insane that Shane had that mode, that Hayden had never really seen it. It was also kind of refreshing to see his friend free in that way.
“Nothing,” Shane answered after a short moment. “He’s just being an ass. Anyway, what were we talking about? How things would be different if we weren’t friends? I think that my life would probably still be different, even if my relationship with Ilya still would have happened.”
Hayden felt weirdly tempted to ask if Shane thought that, without Hayden, something would have been different with Ilya even if the two of them still would have met the same way. But he didn’t want to ask too much of Shane or something, so he just let his friend keep talking.
“I don't know if I would have really bothered to hang out with anyone on the team so much, if you hadn't gotten me to.” Shane said, sounding more matter of fact than wistful. “I guess we'd probably end up like that movie, somehow.”
Hayden was weirdly glad to hear it. Some of the other guys picked on him a little, when he tried to have conversations like this with them in the past. They'd told him he was acting like a girl, which he now realized he probably should have shut down. Anyway, with Shane it was different. They actually spoke like they were friends, which was nice.
“Imagine if in another world, us not being friends means one of us does something totally crazy. Like what if I quit hockey and became like, a teacher or something?”
Shane stared at Hayden, and then laughed. “Okay, don't get ahead of yourself, Hayd.” He said, still smiling. “A teacher?”
“Well like, a P.E. teacher.” Hayden rolled his eyes. “Don't laugh at the idea of me being a teacher! I taught my kids how to walk and talk, and…other things.”
“Okay, but Jackie was there. You can't have your wife there to help you be a teacher of academic things.”
Hayden pointed at Shane, trying not to laugh. “Okay, buddy, but you couldn't be a teacher either! You might be smarter than me, but you're no genius.”
Shane narrowed his eyes playfully. “Next time you don't understand something, I'm just going to let you be confused.”
“Hey, these are all hypotheticals!” Hayden laughed, leaning over to smack Shane's leg. “I still need someone to keep me from looking like a complete idiot.”
“Oh, is that why we’re friends?” Shane teased. “My role in this friendship is to make sure you don’t look too stupid?”
Hayden nodded, looking at Shane with a playfully rueful expression. “Yup. When I got drafted to Montreal way after you, I thought: this is it. I need to befriend Shane Hollander, the best hockey player in the world, so that he can remind me how to spell the word 'restaurant.'"
“And you still spell it wrong!” Shane laughed.
“Spell 'conscious’ out loud right now.” Hayden challenged. Shane stared back at him, and Hayden could practically hear the gears turning in his head. Then, Shane threw his head back and gave Hayden the finger, prompting him to burst into laughter. “You can’t teach for shit!”
“Fuck off!” Shane laughed, sitting upright again. “There’s no spelling in hockey, I think I’ll be alright.”
You did it perfectly homie! I've been itching to write a Malleus fic lately too, so I'm really glad I got a request for him!
I hope you like the fic- and for anyone who doesn't get the emoji's cuz you don't know the event but wanna read anyway- the prompt is 🪻Crush, 🎁Gifts & 👿Jealousy, and it's mostly 🌸fluff. Also kind of a birthday fic? I had an idea for this and just went for it- so I hope you enjoy!

"You know, you shouldn't worry so much, I'm sure the Prefect will like anything you give them!" Lilia assures the crown prince, but Malleus can't find it in himself to feel any less anxious about the small black box in his hands with it's Diasomnia green ribbon.
Lilia had recommended that for your birthday he give them something more simple than what he'd initially planned.
But with all the priceless gifts you have given him, how can he possibly settle for something 'simpler'?
They weren't expensive or luxurious gifts- but they were something worth far more to him than material value alone. They were meaningful. Thoughtful, and quite often handmade. Gifts you gave him not for any special occasion or to garner his favor or earn something from him in return- but gifts that you got him simply because you saw and 'thought of him.'
To think that he runs through your mind enough that simply seeing a new flavor of ice cream at Sam's Mystery shop inspires you not just to buy it for him, but to try and learn to home-make ice cream yourself for him.
Such genuine care and kindness that is borderline non-existent here at Night Raven unless someone wants something in return, is worth so much more than anything he could buy you with money.
"I know they will, but that's what makes this so difficult. I don't simply wish for them to like my gift, I want them to adore it as I do all of their gifts to me." He sighs as he tucks the box into his coats inner breast pocket to give you later.
"THE HUMAN WOULD BE COMPLETELY FOOLISH TO NOT ADORE ANY GIFT GIVEN TO THEM BY THE GREAT LORD MALLEUS!" Sebek helpfully shouts from across the table where he sits next to a sleeping Silver- who slowly wakes at the freshman's yelling.
"Is it time to head to Ramshackle yet?" Silver asks as he rubs his eyes and Malleus shakes his head, but Lilia answers in more detail.
"Cater's supposed to message me when Ace, Deuce, and Grim manage to get them out of Ramshackle and into town so we can all go over and set things up. It shouldn't be long now. It's a shame Trey already baked everything for the party- I would have loved to try my hand at making some cupcakes for our dear prefect's birthday!" Lilia floats towards the kitchen fridge grabbing some tomato juice for himself and all three of them glance at each other as the elder's back is turned.
Malleus thinks over his choice of gift as Silver makes a sarcastic jab at Lilia for his cooking.
... He should have gotten them something more grand.
An elegant, jaw dropping gift that they would remember for the rest of their life.
Afterall Lilia also mentioned he, Diamond, and Viper combined had to fight tooth and nail to stop Al-Asim from buying you an entire parade for today, so he can only imagine the gift and or gifts the wealthy heir may have gotten you.
Malleus is no stranger to the fact that you have others that care very deeply for you here at Night Raven. Others with titles to their names and great fortunes to spend just like him, trying to ensure you have the best birthday possible today.
It's a good thing, and not at all a surprise to him. You have such a brilliant personality and heart, how could it not attract more attention than just his? Yet... He knows that it also means your attention will be torn between all of those attending this celebration of your life today.
How frustrating...
He needs to keep his mood light though- and his powers under control. The last thing he wants is to cause a thunderstorm on your birthday because of his frustrations at not having your sparkling eyes on him the entire event.
Taking a steadying breath he already made the decision days ago to give you a more extravagant gift during the party- he doesn't want to be outdone by anyone after all- and the one he's got resting in his pocket later.
Hopefully if he can get a moment alone with you- even if it's after the party.
He spends the whole walk to Ramshackle when Lilia finally gets the all clear from Diamond, and the entire two hours they spend decorating and setting the party up with the help of the other dorms, thinking.
Trying to plan a way to speak with you alone once the chaos of the party erupts.
"Oh! They're back on campus- ETA 10 minutes! Everyone get into place!" Cater suddenly shouts and everyone picks up the pace, quickly darting around to finish some last minute touches and then gathering in the common room.
He stands patiently in the back as everyone talks among themselves, the chatter turning to hushed whispers when they hear the front door being unlocked.
"It was nice getting of campus at least-" You turn the corner into the common area and every shouts.
"SURPRISE!" You nearly jump out of your skin at as the crowd of all your closest friends bombard you.
Malleus chuckles as he watches at a short distance way- letting you take your time to smile, laugh, and greet everyone one by one, pure joy lighting up your face at the realization of what they've all done.
A surprise birthday party.
It was Trappola and the little Direbeast who initially came up with the plan, but when they started expressing it to everyone else, it took far less effort than they apparently thought it would to get everyone onboard.
Malleus isn't sure why. You have done so much for everyone here at Night Raven, have been with them through so much- of course they would want to celebrate you. You celebrate their birthdays with them after all- granting them thoughtful gifts and going out of your way to make sure they have fun.
So of course everyone would want to do the same for you tenfold. Even Kingscholar put in some extra effort to help Clover carry baked goods over from Heartslabyul and decor from Pomefiore. Not without complaining, but still.
The party is quite rambunctious. The group of friends you've managed to acquire in your time here at Night Raven are as odd as they are impressive. A unique mixture of people that before would have ripped their own teeth out before being friendly with each other.
And now here they are, bickering lightheartedly and laughing and smiling just for you. So that you can be happy on a day just for you.
Everyone snacks on the baked goods made by Clover and some of the snacks and drinks brought by Ignihyde that Schoenheit is actively complaining about how they're unhealthy, while Viper and some others a preparing a proper fresh cooked dinner in the kitchen now.
"Hornton!" His head darts to you, an instant smile on his face when he hears you call him that silly and bold nickname of yours.
You're making your way to him, your second year friends breaking off into a conversation of their own as one of the Leech twins annoys Rosehearts and Kalim tries to keep Riddle from exploding at the teal haired man.
"Child of man. Happy birthday- and while you weren't the one to invite me per say, I am happy to be here nonetheless. Did you enjoy the surprise?" You smile brightly up at him- giving Al-Asim a run for his money (as much of it as he has), and he truly does start to understand the meaning of the phrase 'butterflies in ones stomach.'
"I loved it! I can't believe you all managed to pull this off- working together like this for me of all people-"
"You of all people deserve it the most, dear prefect." He interrupts, not daring to let them say a single thing to undermine themselves of the effect they've had on Night Raven as a whole.
Of the effect they've had on him.
"Oh- well, I'm glad you all think so... This is really nice, being able to celebrate with you all- though, though everyone keeps asking about me doing an interview like you guys had to do- Floyd wants to be the one to throw cake at me..." You laugh and Malleus chuckles as well, he forgot about that aspect of traditional NRC birthday celebrations.
"Well, I wouldn't mind witnessing your interview, though, I did wish to ask you if perhaps after the party, I might be able to steal your attention for a short moment alone?" He glances around before he asks the question, making sure no one else was listening in.
You tilt your head at him in curiosity- an adorable motion that he has to hold back a chuckle at.
"Of course! Can I ask why though?" You start and he opens his mouth to answer but-
"Prefect! Ortho brought some games over from Idia for you! We should totally play some of them!" Ace shouts from across the room, catching your attention and Malleus's glare.
"Oh, okay! You wanna come play too, Hornton? I can teach you to play." You offer but he shakes his head.
"I wouldn't wish to dull the mood by accidently breaking any of the controllers as I did last time I attempted to play a 'videogame' at Lilia's encouragement." He sighs still recalling his sour mood that day at being unable to comprehend the game Lilia was trying so hard to teach him and the crushed controller in his hands.
"Oh, well you can just come watch me play if you want?" You offer instead and he smiles softly.
"I would like that very much." He stands behind the couch as Howl, Sebek, and Felmier sit on the couch itself and you sit on the ground in front of the couch with your legs crossed, closer to the tv.
Trappola and Spade sit on either side of you while Grim makes himself comfortable sitting in your lap and the younger Shroud hovers by the arm of the couch. Lilia floats behind the couch next to Malleus, and the others gather around quickly as well when you start playing the game itself.
He isn't to focused on the screen though, the bright colors and fast pace game hurting his eyes. Instead his attention remains on you. He's glad you like the surprise party. He'd been skeptical about it when Lilia informed him about the planning of it, but seeing your delight from the moment you realized what they'd all done put to rest all of his worries.
However... As his eyes remain on you, he can't help but notice how the others give you similar looks of admiration and fondness. At some point, when you switch to a multiplayer game you and Trappola get into a playful shoving match trying to throw each other off and win.
Your laughter is infectious and all of your freshman friends join in on cheering you on, even Sebek chuckles a bit at Trappola's loud complaining of it all.
... Maybe he should try his hand at learning to play these 'videogames' again.
It takes far more effort than it should for him to get control of the foul envy burning in his chest, and to keep the clouds at bay outside.
He'll not ruin your party with bad weather from his poorly controlled emotions. That and it's not very dignified for him as a crown prince to be feeling this way to begin with. You are not just his friend. You weren't even his friend first. You were theirs. You've known them much longer, so he has no right to wish to tear your focus away from them.
And yet he does. He wishes very much to be the one your having so much fun with right now.
He turns his attention away from the scene, and instead wanders away to the kitchen to check on Viper. Perhaps helping him with his task will distract him from these stubborn feelings.
He ends up being tasked with setting the table- which he opts to do by hand. Normally he'd magically set everything up in a matter of seconds, but he wishes to take his time. Just until you finish playing games and he can attempt to capture attention again.
He shouldn't feel the need to- you've already agreed to speak with him later tonight, and yet his over a century of well practiced patience seems nonexistent today. He wishes to be by your side in solitude from the others now.
How shamelessly selfish of him.
He finishes with the table just as Viper finishes cooking and calls everyone to the incredible smelling feast. The Scarabian student truly is an excellent cook...
He tries to focus on said food as much as possible, and not the scene of you and Al-Asim praising Viper for his hard work, which turns into you teasing him for how embarrassed he becomes at said praise. Nudging him with your elbow, and patting his back in reassurance. Laughing with Al-Asim-
He almost shatters his glass of water in his hands when the wealthy ruby eyed heir hand feeds you one of the roasted vegetables from his plate.
He manages to place it back on the table in time, keeping his expression neutral and fist clenched in his lap under the table and out of sight. He closes his eyes for a brief moment to stop the thunder from roaring outside, but he cannot seem to banish the grey clouds that start to dim the sunlight.
He's grateful at least though that no one notices. Everyone is to distracted by their conversations amongst each other to notice the cloudiness outside.
After dinner Clover brings out the cake he'd made for you- which he politely declines a piece of, much preferring a simple bowl of ice cream instead. At least that helps lighten his mood.
And then you start accepting gifts. He doesn't pay much attention to what others give you throughout the exchanges.
He does, however, note that Kingscholar got you an expensive wooden chess board with wooden and gold gilded pieces, making a smug comment about teaching you to play properly, but not letting you win so easily.
Al-Asim got you an entire set of handcrafted gold and rare gem laced jewelry from the Scalding Sands- a luxurious gift that you accept hesitantly as Jamil stands behind him mouthing 'I'm so sorry.'
The sight makes him chuckle.
Schoenheit, almost predictably, got you an entire set of his favored, and very much expensive, skin, and hair care products as well as a promise to take you with him for a spa day soon.
Lilia gifted you a rare trinket from one of his travels to a distant land, Silver got you a quilt that according to your reaction, you've been wanting to buy from Sam's for some time now but didn't have the money too. Sebek got you a fiction book set- one that Malleus recognizes as a series of books by the same author on fae traditions, history, culture, and fairytales.
When it comes his turn to grant you his gift he carefully summons it, a small box then the one resting in his coat, but with a far more grand gift.
A sterling silver, rare Briar Valley gemstone encrusted brooch of the Draconia family crest, with a powerful protection blessing cast on it by his own hand to ensure your safety so long as you have it on your person wherever you go.
It also acts as a permanent invitation to the Briar Valley and the castle whenever they should so desire to visit him.
"I would welcome your presence anytime." He smiles as they instantly hook the brooch onto their dorm vest.
"This is incredible, Hornton! It's so pretty... Thank you- I'll wear it with me everywhere!" You vow and before he has time to process it, your arms are around his torso.
You hug him tightly and while he would like to return the favor, with his heart beating in his chest as rapidly as it is, he's not sure he'll be able to control his physical strength even the slightest bit. So instead he gentle rests his arms around your shoulders to reciprocate your remarkably bold act of affection.
"How very bold of you- you never fail to surprise me. I'm very glad you like it, child of man." He chuckles and hums as he lightly closes his eyes, cherishing every second of the hug before you pull away to get an earful from Sebek about your actions.
He spends the rest of the party beaming, counting the seconds as slowly, one dorm at a time, the guests take their leave as the party ends, with Diasomnia remaining last, having promised to clean everything up.
Mostly for the sake of Malleus being able to do so easily with the snap of a finger.
"Hornton! You wanted to talk to me alone right? Why don't we go for a walk while the others finish cleaning? Since they won't let me help." You pout a bit at your last words and he chuckles lightly.
"I would like that, prefect. Shall I lead the way?" He offers you his arm, and attempts to keep his heart from skipping a beat when you giggle and accept it, leaning into his side as he leads you outside.
The night air is cool and the stars and moon shine above- the sun having fully set nearly an hour ago.
"Did you have fun today, child of man?" He asks- already knowing the answer, but wanting to make sure anyway.
"I did. All of this... It was so nice of you all to surprise me like this- and all of your gifts were so generous and thoughtful... Really, all this effort just for me just feel like to much..." They admit with a gentle, tired sigh making Malleus look to them with a soft look and an even softer smile.
"To much... Child of man I dare say all of this isn't nearly enough to celebrate you and all of the happiness you've brought to us. To me. Perhaps I should have agreed more with Al-Asim on his parade idea?" He hums lightheartedly and chuckles at your wide eyed horror.
"Please no. I'd be so overwhelmed, and I'm pretty sure Jamil might actually walk into the ocean." You laugh nervously and he carefully pats your hand in assurance.
"Worry not, while I do believe you deserve everything this world has to offer, I will only grant you that which will make you truly happy. Or at least that which I hope will make you happy." He sighs wistfully, the weight of the small gift in his breast pocket growing every step he takes with you by his side.
"And that's already more than I could ever ask for... Thank you Hornton- for your gift, and just for being here. I was really glad to have you here today. This might just be the best birthday I've ever had." You squeeze his arm tighter and his eyes sparkle at your words, unable to tear his eyes away from you.
"It overjoys me to know that you value my mere presence so much. Most here at Night Raven do not..." He can't help but lean further into your touch, your warm presence perhaps the most comforting thing he's ever felt in his many years of life.
"Well, they're all foolish not to. You're a wonderful friend, Malleus." Your voice turns very serious as you say that, dropping the nickname for a moment to show as much, stopping in your tracks to look up at him.
And for a lack of better words, it makes him swoon.
"You have no idea how happy it makes me that you feel that way, and... I wished to speak with you alone because I have another gift I wish to give you- it's not as grand as my first, but... You bless me with the most wonderful hand crafted gifts and gestures that I wished to be able to return the favor." He brings a hand up to grab the wrapped box in his pocket and hand it to you.
Watching as you take it carefully from his hands like it's made of precious glass.
"Malleus, you didn't have to go out of your way to handmake me anything-"
"I wanted too. You mean more than you'll ever know to me, prefect. I wanted to try and show it with more than just an expensive gift, but with one I put as much time and effort into as you do for me." He reassures you and gestures for you to open it.
He'd be lying if he said he wasn't nervous. He keeps a calm, content face, but his insides are fluttering again. It's not perfect, he knows it's not, but it's as good as he could get it.
"Malleus... Did you really make this yourself?" You murmur as you pull the black cord bound necklace from the box.
The cord had been difficult to tie without magic, but he'd seen you tie friendship bracelets by hand enough times for your friends that he simply knew he had to do it himself as well.
Still, that was the easy part in comparison to using pliers to wrap the silver metal around the sparkling green emerald to then tie the cord around. He kept breaking the pliers, and at one point even crushed the gem in his hand and had to select a new one from his personal horde.
Hence he had to settle for the less-than-perfect way the silver is coiled around the gem. It's still pretty in it's own right, if not a little uneven. Perhaps he should have chosen a more jagged crystal shard instead? It would have looked less out of place to have messy silver wrapped around it then the perfectly rectangular emerald...
"I did. It took more time than I planned, and I have a far greater appreciation for jewelry makers now." He murmurs, almost more to himself than to you and you chuckle at the words.
"It's beautiful... I think I'll wear this everyday too." You smile, putting it on, the cord long enough to slip over your head and onto your neck.
"Then it's brilliant that you look beautiful wearing it." He sighs at the sight of you.
You look perfect. You always do to him, but wearing both the necklace and brooch he got for you, stars and moonlight casting an ethereal glow around you... He's half a mind to confess right here and now, but...
Not yet.
He's still waiting for his grandmothers response to the letter he sent her about wishing to court you, and while he plans to do so with or without her permission, it would be much easier for both of you to have it.
For now, simply admiring the slight flush that rises to your cheeks at his words is enough.
"I must admit, child of man, I have spent much of today stewing in envy." He confesses that at least and you perk up, eyes wide and head tilting in that adorable way it does.
"Envy? Why on earth- or well, why in wonderland I suppose- would you be envious, Hornton?" You ask him and he takes a small step closer to you.
"You've gathered quite the collection of close friends, prefect. All of which vie for- and even require your attention constantly. With all of them in attendance today, I found myself selfishly wishing to be in their place several times throughout the evening." He explains and your face softens, smiling up at him so very fondly.
In a way no one's ever looked at him before- not even Sebek for all the boy's loud admiration for him.
You reach forward, carefully intertwining your fingers with his, holding his hand as if it was made of glass.
"Oh, trust me, Malleus. No one could ever have my attention the way you do."
...
Maybe he doesn't need to wait for his grandmothers response after all-

So this was about a 1,000 words longer than I planned it to be, but, eh, the inspiration just hit for this on, and I'm pretty proud of it. I hope you all enjoyed, and I'll get the next request out in a day or two! ~ Roo
