There was another like him on Earth, and who was nearly identical to him in appearance.  His shock was just barely overtaken by curiosity.    He should have been the only one.   

“And... who, may I ask, are you?” he smiled and laughed, tightly.  “My long-lost brother, perhaps?!”

a meet with the doctor.

As it neared midnight, their meet would be hidden yet better from prying eyes by the thick brush surrounding the building.  He arrived early, just to have some time to study the strange island on which the eccentric man lived.  After all, so few actually got that chance... unless, of course, they were invited to the island beforehand for the purpose of “official business”.

Fifteen minutes, he spent admiring the architecture before the arranged meeting time came...

... as he turned to see the door finally open, and out from his lab emerged the very man he’d been waiting to see.

“Doctor!”  he turned to him with a friendly smile and a wave.  “Hello! I believe our codeword was... 'drywall'?”
