Suddenly struck with a need to explain to you how boat pronouns work (I work in the marine industry).
When you're talking about the design of the boat, you say "it".
When the boat is still being built, your say "it".
When the boat is nearing completion, you can say "it" or "she".
When the boat is floating in the water you probably say "she", unless there is still a lot of work to be done (e.g. no engine yet) then you say "it".
When the boat is officially launched and operating, you say "she". If you continue to say "it" at this point you are not incorrect but suspiciously untraditional. You are not playing the game.
If you are referring to a boat you don't really know anything about you may say "it" ("there's a big boat, it's coming this way"). But if you know its name, it's probably "she" ("there's the Waverley, she's on her way to Greenock").
If you are talking about boats in general, you say "it" ("when a boat is hit by a wave it heels over")
If you speak about a boat in complimentary terms, it's "she" ("she's a grand boat"). If you are being disparaging it may be it, but not necessarily ("it's as ugly as sin", "she's a grotty old tub").
If she has a boy's name, she's still she. "Boy James", "King Edward", "Sir David Attenborough"? The pronoun is she.
If it's a dumb barge (no engine), you say it. But if it's a rowing boat (no engine), you say she.
I hope this has cleared things up so that you may not be in danger of misgendering floating objects.
Hit "view post" and lost it

Adopted a second evil advisor and I'm letting them sniff each other under the throne room doors before I introduce them
Are they the same breed of evil or different? Because I've read that Scheming Poisoners and Warmongers don't get along very well, but Warmongers and Secret Theocrats surprisingly do.
Yeah I did some reading beforehand! So my first advisor was of the scheming poisoner variety. I was pretty satisfied with that, honestly, but we came across a young advisor abandoned on the road and we decided that it would be best to adopt it! The vet says it's a warmongering advisor and while the two breeds NORMALLY don't get along, positioning a poisoner as a defender of the peace and the warmonger as an upstart looking to disrupt everything got glory can get them both a LOT of enrichment once their schemes start interacting.
It takes a bit more work at the start and they definitely aren't getting along for now, but the enrichment is off the charts once they get used to each other!
every time i start to feel cringe for being too deep in the hyperfixation i remember the intense depression i have waded through and have to remind myself that enjoyment is fleeting (so grab it with both hands), and life is for loving (so hold that love close), and if anyone thinks i’m cringe they must not be having a very good time (and i hope they can find a good time soon).

The problem with studying the deep ocean is that humans need light to look at things, the depths of the ocean are extremely dark, and what lives there is accustomed to spending most of its time in that darkness. So when we go down there with submersibles and turn on Big Lights to see, we invariably and dramatically alter what's going on, in the same way that it's generally difficult to observe the natural behaviors of terrestrial animals if you whip out a megaphone and shout HEY GUYS WHAT ARE YOU DOING at them first.
guys you gotta stop thinking of women in their 30s as elderly it’s just misogyny
you also gotta stop thinking about actual elderly women as lesser human beings. Youth is not a measure of one’s worth.
