I’m glad the TVL adapted the most significant and emotionally impactful part of The Vampire Chronicles: its sudden and confusing plunge in quality.

Soooo… to the people who were vehemently shutting down criticisms towards the misgendering/queer and transphobic throwaway lines in the earlier episodes. Who claimed that such dialogue were some genius fore-(?)shadowing to Gabrielle (or even Lestat’s) relationship with gender and dysphoria that we would l see as the episodes progressed. That we just had to shut the hell up and wait for it… where is that fabled resolution I was told of, I wonder?

No because you can say a lot of things about Anne Rice's writing, but you can't tell me she didn't write some absolutely banging lines, which tvl has completely thrown out the window in favour of dialogue that will become extremely and painfully dated in approximately 6 months.

There was a reason the episodes used to be named after lines from the book. And I'd wager half the reason dm is as popular as it is is because of the sheer amount of hauntingly romantic lines that stick in your brain. We've replaced we'll be in hell together after all with bottom twink sociopath? Really?
