This is just from the main trilogy, I'm leaving out so many more moments.

Sarah has written beautiful scenes for Elain that not only build her character, and some people love to pretend don't exist, but that have ultimately changed the fate of the main characters and the war, too:

Convincing Nesta to let Feyre and the fae into the Archeron estate,

Scrying for The Suriel,

Saving Nesta and Cassian's life by murdering the King of Hybern with Truth Teller;

Just to name a few.

So for the people who are so convinced that Elain is some background character with no importance, no relevance, no character development who doesn't even deserve her own book: I strongly encourage you to practice conscious reading because missing all of these and more is actually kind of pathetic.

I say this with love, such a low level of reading comprehension should worry you.

I’m an Elriel, but I love Elain even more. And because I love her so much, I don’t want her to end up with a loser like Lucien. If it weren’t Azriel, I’d rather Sarah create an entirely new love interest for Elain.

You know how I said the main reason I dislike Elucien was because Elain doesn’t want him? This is the other reason lol. To me Lucien brings nothing to the table. And I think he was a shitty friend to Feyre.

So if it came down to it I agree a new love interest would be necessary. Elucien is not appealing to me whatsoever. I don’t want to read the equivalent of Elain giving the nice guy a chance. I want her to stand on business and reject the fuck out of that mating bond. She already said she doesn’t want Lucien. I want consistency on that front lol

The fact that Elain, who held onto her engagement ring way after it was broken, returned Az's necklace. Within HOURS.

The fact that Azriel, who shoves all gifts by his 500 year old love in a drawer, kept Elain's gift on his nightstand as a centerpiece. For a YEAR.

Elain leaning into his warmth, tapping his heart twice, murmuring “I know everything.”

Fluff is …

Azriel lying in bed, for once at peace, giving her a lazy, satisfied smile, “do you know something?”

Elain lying on his chest looking at him with mirroring joy, “I something you.”

And it’s just them quietly saying I love you because they can’t say it out loud.

The faelights gilded Elain's unbound hair, making her glow like the sun at dawn.

This is how Azriel sees Elain in his one single pov we have and you want me to believe he is not utterly in love with her? He sure as hell wasn’t thinking this way about gwyn or clotho.
