I have set up this blog to show each stage of the processes and progress I have made in the media A2 course. My brief is to create a promotion package, promoting a new horror film which includes a teaser trailer together with two ancillary tasks: • Which are a film magazine front cover • Poster for the film. In what ways does your media product use develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products ?

Poster - Final Version:

We managed to collect feedback from a variety of people, including teachers, media students, and a variety of other age groups, we worked out that the title of the film would look better places at the bottom of the page, as it made the background picture of the main character stand out more, which grabs the viewers’ attention  better, whereas in the last version, the title of the film hid the picture more, not making it standout as much as we would want, taking away the genre of it. This also meant that the conventions of a poster were kept as the film title is normally placed at the bottom of the poster.

My partner also edited the window frame colour by darkening it down which gave it a more spooky, creepy and old effect which really sets out and determines the genre of film to the viewer. The original colour was too lightly coloured and this gave it a scarier feel.

The main image also been darkened down so it didn’t look to light compared to the window frame so the whole image as a whole flowed well, representing the supernatural horror theme better then the original final rough cuts.
