It is not just about the safety but about the women rights and equality.
i said this elsewhere, but ASH was really a father for an entire generation. we see this in every tribute, every outpouring of grief, and so many of the beautiful words people are sharing right now.
i think a fantastic component of his time on buffy to draw attention to here is when he was fired from the watcher’s council and still chose to stay with buffy and guide her. this, as an adjacency to buffy’s parents getting divorced and her dad actively choosing not to stay in her life resonated with so many kids who grew up with dads who weren’t around, parents who weren’t physically or emotionally available.
this man, through his work, was a father, a mentor and a guide to all of us; he made weird kids feel seen. he gave life to so many characters, characters that have since become such an integral part of our cultural lexicon. he encouraged people into getting interested in theatre. he was a staunch and proud ally for lgbtqia+ people across the world. the man carved out a niche in media that will always be uniquely and unequivocally tied to his legacy. and you know what? i’m damn sure he made people respect their local librarian a little more.
my heart really goes out to his family; the amount love the world had for him and his work was truly extraordinary. we lost a real legend today; he’ll be our watcher forever and always.

I hate the injustice’verse with the power of a thousand suns, but it always frustrates me to no ends whenever I see people summarizing the story to a simple equation of « lois dies therefore clark goes evil ».
It’s not about lois dying, it’s about clark killing her and their unborn child himself. It’s him now having to live with the memory of her bones breaking under his bare hands, of her heartbeat disappearing from his perception. It’s the agonizing sounds of a whole city dying alongside lois lane the second she’s killed, all because a psychopath had turned clark into a weapon of destruction against his will.
like, I think we can all agree that anyone would have snapped under these circumstances. I simply don’t believe that there’s a believable scenario that exists where clark kent snapping leads to him becoming a worldwide dictator. But that’s just me.
We genuinely need to romanticize aging because the dread destroys us all
i think when u clean your house it should stay clean forever. what do u mean i have to do it again
there’s a scene in he’s just not that into you where ben affleck and jennifer anniston’s characters break up over his refusal to get married and even thought they’re not together anymore, he still shows up when her dad becomes ill and does whatever he can to support her and get some load off her shoulders and I just think that this moment in particular is so stelena coded. that’s true love. that’s commitment. it’s feeling married to someone without needing the piece of paper to prove it.
I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream. I know you, the gleam in your eyes is so familiar a gleam.

The au pair knew the moment had come. The beast had lurked, indeed, and the beast, at its hour, had sprung. And she could not risk the most important thing, her most important person. Not for one more day.
There’s a storm coming, Mr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you’re all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I’m trying not to judge exhausted new parents, I really am not. This is the one thing that I never do because parenting is hard enough already. But when you share a train wagon with other people and your kid has been crying for over AN HOUR and you HAVE the option to go into a more quiet area to calm him down (wagon next to ours is literally called « children’s area ») but you CHOOSE to stay in that wagon full of passengers for some reason… Respect goes both ways y’all.
4 hours left to go 😓 I’m gonna show up at my job interview with a headache, I can feel it.
