harry potter and the slow and agonising death of my respect for rowling
#iām both of them
i love experiencing how my classmates work to avoid misgendering me. for instance, today one classmate greeted the rest of our small group: āAll right ladies and gentlemen ā and Averyā
another time a classmate went: āPardon me, maāam ā uh, sir, uhā¦.esteemed oneā
and, my absolute fave: āHey ladies! ā and gentleThemā
i love these moments both because theyāre humorous and because they show how hard these folks are trying! itās not about getting it right every time at first, but consistently correcting yourself!

shoutout to people with simultaneously great and terrible memories. like oh yeah i remember in perfect detail that random story you told about the banana costume from a year ago but all of novemeber? completely blank.
I got so sick of the cheesy Christmas playlist at work so I snuck in a version of All I Want For Christmas Is You where half way through the vocals change to Welcome To The Black Parade
Watching the customers slow down and squint in confusion is giving me life.
This is the song
IM HYPERVENTILATING
This adorable proposal.
This is why I LOVE same-sex relationships. Like, whoās gonna propose?? Probably both!!
This made my whole damn day
being cold makes me a whole different type of annoyed
This is literally the most heart warming story I have read on Twitter so far. I think this is exactly what friends should do, and I feel everyone deserves people like this.
A barn rasing:Ā a collective action of a community, in which a barn for one of the members is built or rebuilt collectively by members of the community.
because you cannot, you CANNOT, build a barn on your own, and without it, you will not be able to survive.Ā
What a fuckinā gem of a sentence.Ā āWhat we did today was a barn rasināĀ
LOVE IN LARGE GROUPS WITH OVERWHELMING FORCE DONT ASK FOR PERMISSION AND LET NOTHING STOP YOU
The Monologue, because I liked it so damn much.
āThe thing about repairing, maintaining, and cleaning is: itās not an adventure. Thereās no way to do it so wrong you might die.ā
#this episode angered a lot of people#like they took it personal because this whole time they related to rick and thought the series was justifying their worldview#but this monologue ripped them all to shreds
This show is the epitome of āIām an asshole because Iām better than youā and so many people used it to justify their behavior, and it finally addressed the fact that thatās not the case but instead the reality is āIām an asshole because Iām immature and canāt take care of myself mentally or emotionallyā and of course assholes are gonna cry about it. Because, again, they are immature and canāt handle their emotions.
This monologue is a prime example of āSometimes if someoneās advice pisses you off itās because theyāre right and you know that applies to you.ā
There are a lot of times I feel like justā¦flipping the vegan script.
Itās not āpolyesterā itās plastic
Itās not āvegan leatherā itās plastic
Its not āfaux furā itās plastic
Plastic is a pollutant and causes far more damage to the environment both now and in the future than leather or wool.
Please stop telling me that the Plastic Lyfe is the only life, it is not. My leather shoes will last a decade where pleather is lucky to last 12 months. Leather (and wool) decompose and are renewable. Plastic is neither of those.
THANK YOUUUUUUU~
A single wash cycle of plastic-based fiber (polyester, poly fleece, faux fur) may release 700,000 pieces of microplastic into our waters. Nasty stuff.
aw dangit
Plastics are also petroleum products, so the impact of their production compounds the impact of their waste!
Especially since non-food-safe plastics are barely subject to regulation as-is & the short product lifespan is considered a feature, not a bugā because it makes people have to go out & buy more new plastic whatevers whenever the old ones wear out or get tossed.
Veganism can absolutely be approached with an environmental angle, but choosing plastic shoes over leather & acrylic socks over wool does about as much to save the world as the last (or next) oil pipeline leak. Youāre not a hero because you choose to wear vinyl. Youāre just the douche wearing vinyl.
I just taught a pretty girl how to use a vending machine and I'm gonna die
thereās no way this girl didnāt know how to use a vending machine. she thought you were cute, formed a game plan, and fucking executed it. iām proud of her
tag yourself are you the girl pretending not to know how to use a vending machine because sheās gay and useless or the girl who genuinely believed it because sheās gay and useless
Am I the only one whose internet addiction started with my parents not letting me fucking go anywhere
This but I also had no friends so I wouldnāt have anywhere to go if I was allowed
this is a thing! danah boyd is a researcher who has been studying social media for over a decade and in her 2014 book itās complicated she argues that teenage social media āaddictionā (which she also contends is likeā¦..not actually a thing) is a result of the fact that ātodayās teenagers have less freedom to wander than any previous generationā because āparents argue that these restrictions are necessary in an increasingly dangerous society, even though the data suggest that contemporary youth face fewer dangers than they did twenty years ago.ā
as a result, teenagers are reclaiming these lost social spaces (which their parents and grandparents had in the form of mall hangouts, drive-in theaters, after school parking lots, etc) by using social media, where they can continue to āengage in crucial aspects of maturation: self-presentation, managing social relationships, and developing an understanding of the world around them,ā aka stuff that teens are Supposed to be doing
