I’ve been quiet for awhile, cats and kittens! I went through a lot of changes in the past couple years, and along the way, I decided to take a break from traditional publishing of short stories.
I’d learned how to audio narrate and self-publish. I wanted to exercise more experimental creative freedom, and so I went ahead and took the plunge into self-publishing!
Aaaaaaand I’m loving it. Full stop. Having the ability to design this trilogy from start to finish and begin the process of creating audio, it’s been amazing.
Downsides? Only that because it’s erotica, and it’s incredibly not mainstream oriented erotica, it’s a struggle to get advertising. I’ve always been the one who wanted to do things differently. Romance and erotica are wonderful things, but they often don’t tell the stories I want to read about–and that became a big reason for me to want to fill that gap in readership.
If you like quirky, uncommon, unusual, then my books are for you. I just uploaded the final book in the series for Captive Mermaid, and now all that lies ahead is to perform and produce the audio. It’s been an amazing experience of setting myself the challenge, and I couldn’t be happier with myself.
In many ways, it’s the layup to bigger and better things. I finished Diary of a Centaur this year, which became a much bigger project than I anticipated when I started it. Additionally, I have other projects in the works that I intend to start releasing, and interested media company I’m in talks with. I’m looking at future where I control much more than ever before.
