yeah yeah rainbow capitalism is bad and whatever but like. when I was a child, being pro gay was not the popular or lucrative choice. I'm happy that times have changed.
I miss rainbow capitalism. I do. I miss when it felt like public opinion was still pro gay. I understand it was always an empty gesture, but it mattered in a sense of knowing how socially acceptable being queer is. If that makes sense.
for @thefloatingstone
before i watched project hail mary i knew exactly 2 things about ryan gosling:
idk if anyone else has read the watchmaker of filigree street but all time gold star rereadable book. every time i go back again i catch the tiny seemingly insignificant details that actually show the 10-dimensional chess throughout time and space that’s being played all in the interest of making sure one person is safe and happy. and then i cry
anyway. get yourself someone who will implicate both themselves and you in terrorism just to give you a reason to spend time together
‘they’ll hurt you’
‘not imaginatively’
maybe my favourite exchange i’ve ever read in a book ever in my life. the devotion in the protestation. wanting to protect the person you don’t yet realise you’re in love with so much you’re willing to go against your superiors and country. the person you don’t yet realise you’re in love with is a petite watchmaker and also a fucking samurai and doesn’t respect anything about british law enforcement, especially not their threats. not imaginatively.
so i’m not technically rereading it i’m listening to the audiobook, and i’ve spent so long wondering how they’d go about showing keita losing his accent i never stopped to think about how i’d feel hearing keita losing his accent.
i’m listening to watchmaker again and tell me why on all my rereads and listens i never clocked the fact that mori started all this shit off by breaking into thaniel’s flat so he could leave him a fucking birthday present.
Alright, I will start with this one then - everything starts with the glorious revolution and everything starts with the night watch 🌸
Oh man I haven’t had a new interest in a while. It’s always been the same three things on repeat. I wonder when I’ll st-
Ok.

was having a perfectly normal day. You truly can never know when the BBCS is going to hit
because of this tag somebody left on my post:
Me when the obviously doomed character doesn't get a happy ending
Andy Weir whining about not being chosen to write a Star Trek show becomes so funny when you read his quote about how he only watches Star Trek for fights and hates when there’s social commentary. I wonder why they turned you down, Andy.
"I just want to watch Romulans and the Federation shoot at each other." I would also be showing him the door if this guy came in and wanted a Star Trek show. How are you going to say you don't like social commentary in STAR TREK.
I think about Andy saying "I fought for a while actually to remove the Eva Stratt karaoke scene and the 'Ryland is imagining red astrophage' scene. I just didn't see the point and felt one was out of character and the other was nonsense" and its like... He admits he's glad people didn't listen to him since, for some people, those are their favorite parts of the entire film! Andy also admitted in that interview (the one with his publisher or his close friend I believe) that he realized he needs to work on his "breathing moments" in stories and lingering... Anyway
Do yall remember how crazy it was to watch HR episode 2 and have the sex fade out to more sex. I didn’t know we knew how to do that.
"I asked chatgpt" ok well I asked Sherlock Holmes and I got a monologue that contained two tangents, four accidental insults, the answer to my question, and three homoerotic comments about his flatmate
Would it be considered “gay” to go for a walk in the evening?
yes like obviously
