Cape Disappointment is famous in our history for disappointing the early American explorers of the Northwest. This location almost lived up to its name last weekend for me, this scene has tainted me for years, When we arrived at this spot we tried for hours in a driving rain to produce a meaningful image and finally had to give in do to minimal light. We showed up early the next morning and wow what a difference, with storm clouds, broken light and my favorite, God Rays. One of my favorite writers once said that "Patience is one of the raw materials of this craft of photography, it is the ability to not only wait but to wait while remaining perceptive and open to the possibilities. Knowing that nothing ever stays the same and if we wait long enough something will happen. So much of what we do is luck but we get luckier the longer we remain patient."
