Farewell Letter
I really hate to do this, especially since I haven't even gotten a chance to know the new people who just joined but you all seem really brilliant (and Albus was going to get flirted with too, aww!), and because I've enjoyed interacting with so many of the rest of you...but I just can't stay in an RP where the admins are so blatantly and unrepentantly uncaring and disrespectful toward their players' wishes for their characters.
If players can't force major plots or ships or god-mod one another, the admins shouldn't do it either. There was no excuse for behaving like this. You asked for suggestions, and then when the character who was going to be most affected chose an idea she liked, you callously ignored that because you wanted to use this opportunity to advance your plot...the plot that you have done nothing to reference or cultivate in character up until this point, mind, so I don't see it was so drastic that you had to do it now, and in a fashion that directly contradicted the wishes of the one player who was most affected by it.
Just because you can't think of a way to get your plot started on your own is no excuse for hijacking someone else's character and using her against her will for your own ends. That is bad form for anyone, especially an admin. You're supposed to be professional, not selfish, and instead you forced one of your best, most interesting and interactive characters out of the roleplay for no real good reason.
And I just can't stay here knowing that there's nothing to stop the same thing happening to me. I'll miss the players I've gotten to know here...but I will not miss the unprofessional, self-absorbed attitude of our inconsistently-controlling admins.
Good bye.
