Lemme say, impressing this boy isn’t terribly difficult. So if you give him a love reading and he gets death and the magician reversed, he’s gonna have his mind blown and will probably try his best to avoid Cleo. Keyword: try.

Y’all first met when you were shuffling through your deck by yourself in the cafeteria, and Cleo had dared JFK to go talk to you so either you’d get embarrassed or he’d feel ashamed seen around you. Considering tarot was never really a part of history anyone remembers well, you weren’t exactly popular in chs. Everyone thought you were a recluse, but JFK learned different when he walked over.

The first thing he noticed was that actually, you had a pretty dope sense of fashion. Second, the cards. Not only were they drawn absolutely gorgeously, but even by looking at them he could feel in his heart what they meant, to some extent. It freaked him out a little, but it was also kinda fuckin cool. Bonus points if you hand drew them yourself ✨

So he sat down, low key scared the shit out of you with his sudden loud voice, but you began to talk. You were skeptical as to why he had come to you all of a sudden, not to mention why him of all people, but eventually he got so curious about the cards he asked for a reading.

Reluctantly you agreed, praying he wouldn’t use this against you somehow. Asking him what question he specifically had in mind, he would think for a moment, before asking for a reading in his love life. Both it’s current position, and an advice card. When he asked this, you could tell his gaze had softened a little, it surprised you. You thought he was all about banging broads but, the look in his eyes said different. You wondered if things with Cleo were okay. They probably weren’t.

You shuffled the deck and set out three piles, telling him to take three deep breaths and relax himself, but to keep the question in mind. He did so, and before you even told him what to do, he had his eyes set on the left. You would set the other two thirds of the deck away, and would again split that third into thirds. This time his eyes would land on the middle deck. You’d then set the cards up in 3 rows of 3, and told him to choose two cards that he felt a strong connection with. He chose the very middle, then the one right of it.

When you flipped the first card, your eyes widened a little bit. “This is interesting” you muttered. “What er uh, what is it? Is it bad?” He asked nervously. The more this reading went on, the more she felt like she could see the real him. Yes, he was macho and a crackhead but, there was a mega soft boy who needs hugs and validation in there too. Hopefully, the reading would give it to him. You looked him in the eyes with a gentle gaze. “Your first card is the queen of swords. That means that either you or the person you are with is very headstrong, very confident and very smart. Those can be good things, but I also sense a lot of manipulation coming from her. She is very aware of her queen like status, and may use it to harm you or someone else” you spoke, and John gulped. His gaze dropped a little, and you could tell it was starting to hit him a little bit. You’d flip over the other card, and smiled. “Your advice card or- future card, perhaps, is the six of cups. This card emits energy of childhood memories, reminiscence, and soulmates. From what I can tell, you have a very loving family. They will be there for you if something goes wrong with your lover. But even bigger than that, your soulmate is very close. He or she could be in this very room. Maybe you should take a step back and think about what it is you really want in a relationship, Kennedy” you hummed softly. The brunette would look at you, shocked. “You really think that I er-uh have a soulmate?” He asked, and you nodded. “Hmm, okay then shady card woman! I like the words I’m hearin!” He grinned in the most slanted way possible, probably so Cleo wouldn’t be suspicious if she was watching from afar. “Thanks, doll” he would say, before giving you a quick peck on the cheek. You’d immediately get flustered and, needless to say, it only took so long before the mans managed to move on from Cleo and asked you out.

Cleo um, she didn’t take the breakup well. Why? Of course it wasn’t because of losing JFK, she knew damn well she deserved a man who simped so hard he’d take his life if she asked him to. But, what she was pissed about was the fact that he was the one to leave, not her. She wasn’t used to that. Either way, expect yall’s relationship to be very sweet and wholesome, but also expect her to cause problems, occasionally. Salty queen hours.

In the beginning, he probably won’t open up to you a whole lot about how much of a s i m p he is in the inside, but you’ll pick up hints of it every time you do a reading on him. And you do quite a bit of em.

Eventually though, if you confront him about it, especially in a reading, he will begin to open up. He literally feels like he cannot lie to the cards, despite the fact he knows they don’t dictate everything he does.

If you have sage at home, expect this dude to burn it for no reason. It smells g o o d, he can’t help it.

Lil bit of backstory

Okay let me just say, he absolutely is n o t an artist. Like its to the point where the closest thing he has gotten to art is drawing stick figures on the side of exams.

Now, just because he cant do it doesnt mean that he wouldn’t find it mildly interesting.

When he meets you the first time it honestly was an accident. The hallways of that school are crowded and trying to get from a to b can be tough especially with nearly 5 pounds of art supplies in your hands.

He ran into you.

Needless to say, all of those art supplies and projects went flying. You were lucky that people didn’t step on anything.

He did feel kinda bad, it took him a moment to process though he was staring at you before helping pick up some of your stuff.

After that, you said thank you and were back on your way to class. Leaving him high and dry. Which was strange experience for him, and left him with an even stranger feeling.

Second time you had met was when you had to work together.

It was a simple science project, but when doing anything related to science or math with jfk it becomes almost impossible.

To be fair, He did help to the best he could. Ultimately in the end you scored a B and he scored a date.
