I think a lot of people misunderstand whitewashing as just making a character’s skin tone pale, but there’s a lot of other aspects to it. Ethnic features, hair texture, body type etc. are all much more prevalent details to be whitewashed because then the character’s ethnicity itself is on unstable grounds. If your argument is that clones don’t get enough uv light so it’s normal for them to be paler, you’d be right in a perfect world where your (specifically) crosshair and tech art does not look like alex consani in different hair colors.

Waves might just be the best candidate for this, so here's for all the folks that wanna know more, and some miscellaneous Waves art below the cut:

ARC-4775 "Waves"

1. Waves was initially a heavy weapons trooper before he became an ARC. His first love? Rotary cannons. Even as an ARC, it is hard to find him on an infantry mission without a Z6 or a chaingun. He's a pretty decent shot with any blaster, but he loves melting droids with dozens of plasma rounds per second.

2. He has a shell collection. If he can find one that fits in a free pocket, it's his. Waves might never know that creature the shell came from, but it's something that belongs to him now, so it's special. Some shells are gifts from other troopers that make them even more special, and given the lack of personal possessions clones are allowed to have makes these small shells he's been holding onto all the more precious.

3. 4775 came from a randomly generated 4 digit code in 2016 that serve no functional purpose but I became attached.

4. Initially given the name Waves after the sound of a heart murmur mimicking the sound of the waves crashing into the supports of Tipoca City, later discovered an immense love of the sea. He insists the name is derived from the later option, but those close to him know it's the former. Said defect almost had Waves decommissioned as a cadet, hence his hesitation to share the truth.

5. Waves had a custom black series figure. Said custom black series figure has 36 college credits and has met Temuera. He's cooler than me ig.

Today's oc: Clone Pilot Fireball of the 829th

1: Shorter than the average clone coming at around 5'6 (170 cm)

2: Lost his orginal squad he de-tubed with during the battle of komino. He was a lone survivor out of his squad and had to deploy without them. Sending him in to a depressive state he has to constantly hide.

3: Bleached his hair after reading on the holonet a change in appearance can help his depression. It worked for about 12 hrs now he's just growing out his curls.

4: Not originally from the 829th but transferred in after squad hoping through different units trying to find a fit.

5: has a flame tattoo going up his arm in the same placement on his armor. In memory of his fallen brothers and what killed them.

6: His sqaud died in a grounded LAAT explosion when a squid ship breached thr hanger roof and hit the engine. Killing 4/5 squad members near instantly since they where using the ship for cover

my one and only oc Gauze

he LOOOVes collecting vintage stuff, especially old medical gear. gets called out for wearing a 100 year old white coat over his clone medic uniform.

he is quite apathetic by nature. you know like how psychiatrist are like? "oh your entire battalion died horribly? boo hoo bitch here's your space sertraline"

he survives o66, ends up becoming a part of the illegal body mod scene on the lower levels after performing plastic surgery on himself. yes i made stuff up for no reason <3

he's called gauze because he got shot in the face as a cadet due to a safety lock malfunction but thought the blaster hole looked cool so he just stuffed a piece of dressing gauze on the hole to keep germs away from his mouth.

he's aromantic and pansexual!
