So the bit went on without a hitch, I had to be vague about it because the target of said bit (my sibling) follows this blog lmao, their boyfriend and I got together and I came out to him, with the plan being to have him guess ‘the secret’ me and my sibling had been keeping from him while I was on a call with them, and have him guess right and just slide past it while she freaked out. It was soooo funny when it caught on a minute afterwards probably because of its boyfriends face lmaooo

Please read this because it is EXTREMELY important me (a transgender man) and to other trans individuals.

The US Government is currently trying to pass an incredibly dangerous national law for trans youth called HR 2616.

This bill would ban all Federally funded schools from teaching about gender identity or sexual orientation, prevent teachers from using the correct pronouns and names for trans students, remove books with any trans representation in them, and even go as far as to prevent teachers from acknowledging trans identity AT ALL.

Any school that does not follow this will lose all federal funding. This bill would also require teachers to forcibly out trans students to their families, which would be fatal to any trans student with a transphobic Family or just hateful family in general. Trans people are already a group that already has some of the highest rates of being victim to suicide, domestic violence, and sexual assault.

This bill actively makes teachers put those innocent children at such a big risk. This bill has rapidly passed the house this week with support from all 209 republicans, as well as 8 democrats. But, it's still being voted on in the senate, which means there is still time to help stop this.

To help stop this, you can visit 5calls.org (look up 2616 in the search bar), one of the most top issues filed Oppose Attacks on LGBTQ+ Students. Once you put in your general location, it will pull-up contact information for your senator, and give you a script for calling them.

If you are a minor and/or do not feel comfortable doing this, PLEASE repost this on here, or any other platform you are on/can find! This needs to be heard and fought against.

Completed my 7th day of voice training today! So far so good, I've gotten most of a hang on bypassing the larynx and am able to comfortably read the phb for two minutes straight without having any difficulties! I'll keep practicing for another week but at this rate I think I'll right on schedule to start the next exercise!

Finished my first day at work but something really funny happened. It’s just me, my trans coworkers and the manager who hired me (I’ll need to figure out names to call them on here eventually), and as the manager starts telling my coworker where she should put me to start, she keeps using female pronouns on me! And as she’s looking the other way I’m giving the look of “Did you tell her?” and I get a return look of “No, did you tell her?” And then after a second the manager says sorry and explains that *everyone else at the store* is female, and she’s used to using only female pronouns. Well. Little does she know I’m under that umbrella :3

not nearly enough people are fuming about the cass review. do you understand the eventual implications? trans people in the uk will be considered children up until the age of 25, and denied HRT/surgery/even basic measures like legal name change and social transition. all owing to a biased and largely unscientific study. you know what “treatment” for gender dysphoria is recommended by the review instead? conversion therapy.

this will kill people and they know it, because they prefer us dead and out of sight. the government, the NHS and even the opposition have made this clear again and again. a twenty-five year old can have sex, get married have children, join the military, earn a living, be halfway up the corporate ladder or highly successful in their chosen career field by that age, but they can’t transition under NHS rules. this is a death sentence for trans teenagers and they are going ahead with it. it’s trans genocide, same as across the pond.

i’m so afraid for my trans siblings and our futures. i’m so scared for myself. what are we to do if not even the party that is supposed to be on the “left” gives a shit about our safety and mental health as long as they get voted in? labour have become tories with a red coat of paint. it all feels hopeless

So I am officially hired, and came into the building about 45 minutes ago because I needed to give over my social security card and drivers license to complete the hiring process. And everything went normal until the person whos been taking me through the process since I arrived today tells me as soon as I'm officially hired that shes trans! I've never felt so immediately comforted before because I'd literally been worrying for the past 2 days that if I get this job what if someone clocks me or finds me out and I end up losing my job as a result and now I feel so much better. Life's getting better :)
