nobody:
me: people spend so much money on “natural” products because they think they’ll be better for their skin but what they don’t realise is that everything is chemicals and just because something is natural doesn’t mean it’s good for you, and in fact many natural skincare ingredients like lemon juice or baking soda or crushed seeds can actually be incredibly damaging but
Which is better: the product specifically created for your skin type by a professional who’s been studying that shit for 25 years?? or the diy goop that Lisa from The Housewife Blog came up with after exactly 4 and a half minutes of research and you’re not gonna follow the recipe to anyway
I love the sacred ritual of night skincare.
Not in an expensive products way at all.
But in washing off the day from your face.
Looking at your bare face in the mirror.
And then adding moisturizer to finish.
It is a ritual and it’s magic
and that plump and clean feeling you get after you do your skincare ritual uGHGHHhhh YES
honey face masks for different types of skin issues
💌 a mask to help with acne-prone skin & existing damage — 2 tablespoons of honey, 1 tablespoon of plain wholemilk yogurt, 2 tablespoons of fresh milk, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and lukewarm water.
💌 a mask to help with dry skin — 1 teaspoon of mashed avocado, 1 teaspoon of honey, and 1 teaspoon of plain wholemilk yogurt.
💌 a mask to help with moisturising dry skin — 1 teaspoon of mashed avocado, 1 teaspoon of plain wholemilk yogurt, 1 teaspoon of honey.
💌 for honey masks, raw, unfiltered honey is better because it retains most of its potent healing properties! also, keep in mind that scars and acne are nothing to be ashamed of!
psa please don’t use face scrubs that have walnuts in them…they will literally damage your skin so bad 🤡
!!! important !!! although you can’t see it now, it will ruin your skin so bad in the long run
am I breaking out because of a new product or because I wore makeup or because my period is next week or because I’m sad or because I’m stressed or ????

dry skin tips?
make sure youre getting enough omega 3. i take a flax seed supplement, helps me alot with dry patches. you can take fish oil as well if youre not vegan.
dont use hot water or hold your face directly under the shower head.
clay masks are good for removing excess oil but on dry skin, they often to more harm than good. try hydrating masks instead.
keep your room humid once you turn on the heater. hang clothes in your room to dry, open the windows regularly and use a humidifier or place a bowl of water on your heater.
when using a cleanser, only cleanse at night. in the morning, a water rinse is enough.
if you cant seem to drink enough water, try drinking herbal tea. makes it easier for me, especially when its getting colder and youll get some benefits as well. try drinking rooibos or chamomile, spearmint if you have hormonal acne as well.
try oil cleansing. massage your favorite oil gently into dry skin for around a minute, then gently remove with a warm washcloth. works wonders for me and my sensitive skin.
chamomile tea as a toner helps calm down redness and inflammation, soothes dry and irriated patches and softens the skin.
try to not sleep on your face, friction often only makes things worse. if you absolutely have to, get a silk pillowcase. those also help with brittle hair.
hemp seed oil is a godsend. use a few drops on damp skin as a moisturizer. helps me so much with irritated dry patches. argan is good too.
