How is it that I never wrote stuff about Brother Sundance. He’s been a character in the back of my mind for years but yesterday over the course of like 6 hours I barfed out almost 3000 words of him finding the commune of the wilds
Facts about my catboy bard below that will make no sense unless it does
His name was Jude Rader and the commune is not the first cult he’s accidentally stumbled upon
He joined the commune because he didn’t want to go back to jail
Cat Personality in the sense of “doesn’t want attention unless he’s asking for it” and “behaves endearing to get what he wants”. Extroverted Introvert
He’s the newest member of the commune besides baby Titus and showed up sometime in the 90’s. Despite this he’s probably the most aware and knowledgeable of any of the Sons.
Macrides loves this guy, and all Sundance had to do was play his lil guitar and play the fool and be a goofy guy to be allowed to make up his own job as “Wordsmith” and become one of the leaders of the commune
If Titus ever says any words or phrases that seem inappropriate for someone his age/for someone as sheltered as he is, there’s a near 100% chance he learned it from Sundance. Terrible influence, but he also teaches Titus how to play guitar
Sneaky boy, very sneaky. If he were a dnd character he’d probably be a bard/rogue multiclass
Plays a lot of covers but since nobody on the commune knows the originals, he says he wrote most of them
Has claws but keeps them filed down to better play
Intentionally keeps expectations low so he can get away with shit/easily impress people when he Does try
Grew up in Ohio
Was ditched by his old band for being generally an asshole and getting into money trouble with some bad people
Was an only-child
Hit-or-miss taste in regards to partners
Confident exterior, very mean to himself in his internal dialogues
Survival instinct is Fawn, then Freeze, then Flight. Not a fighter, but if somehow pushed to that point he Bites, it’s honestly kind of a miracle he’s still alive by this point
Sits in chairs weird
Scared of the dark, scared of heights, scared of storms, scared of people, scared of spiders and snakes and bears and worms and bugs and most animals in general
Loves water and swimming tho
Terrible at emotional regulation outside of just shutting down. Mainly through turning discomfort into jokes or flirts or usually a mix of both
Genuinely does love music and his new bandmates (the other Wordsmiths)
Irritates Macintosh and knows it, so he takes pleasure in that
Btw this was all because I was looking for information about the toothpaste I buy and I found a subreddit where people are posting pics of their collections of the toothpaste tubes
Only with like, items that were created specifically to be collectibles. With most other collectibles you would be overwhelmingly buying them secondhand (or not buying them at all, see: rocks)
when u plug a phone into a computer the comupter always charges the phone even if she has less charge than the phone bc the computer thinks that due to her size she always needs to provide for those smaller than her even when it hurts her more than it helps others. btw
I'm just saying, if you're going to worldbuild magic being a "raw, primal force, akin to and interweaving with nature itself" you gotta explain to me why animals don't use it
I know the normal answer is "they just aren't smart enough for it" but idk I've seen enough media where a character uses a spell in a moment of brain-off panic ilI feel like animals could probably stumble into a spell or two like, accidentally
