There's this really obscure forgotten DC hero named the Heckler, who's basically buggs bunny as a superhero, not having any powers or physically strong, but just really good at pissing people off until they accidentally deal with themselves.

Now they're interesting, but the REAL star of the show is one of his villains, John Doe the Generic Man, who's this guy in a stark white suit with flat pink unshaded, untextured skin with no features or anything who talks like chatGPT and has black text over his face that explains what he's feeling at the moment. That guy is fucking fascinating.

The Hollows series (Kim Harrison) went off the rails and totally queerbaited me but “Girl vampire desperately gripping the sink” is Ivy Tamwood to the core, and she gets a great deal of character growth and a growing out of her trauma arc, she’s pretty great and it’s totally worth reading the first few books for her.

I know that when a recipe says like “easy one-pan quesadilla” or whatever and then tells you to put the filling in a bowl and wash your hot pan before using it again that’s because the target audience is people who only have one pan but I have so many pans for so many different purposes and whenever I see such a direction I get irrationally angry. it’s something about the aggressively obvious 2020s makeup too on everyone in every movie no matter what the time period is. it’s the 19th century they do not have highlight!!!!

look at meg march in 1994 vs 2019. they both look great! however! emma watson is wearing very obvious lipstick, mascara, concealer under eyes heavy foundation etc etc. you can see this at a glance. i literally in making this comparison had to google if this was a promotional image that she took or actually a still from the movie because her makeup just looks like normal 2019 makeup that a girl from 2019 would wear!!! (not to mention her costume. different post.) then look at trini alvarado on the other left. obviously she’s wearing tons of makeup because she’s in a movie and she has tons of lights on her all the time but it doesn’t look she is!! you can see circles under her eyes!! she doesn’t have The Shine to her face that emma watson does. she looks so much more believable as a girl from the 1860s not because she’s a perfect representation but simply because she does not Obviously Have On Modern Makeup

Getting into makeup really opened my eyes to how omnipresent heavy makeup is in The Culture. Being able to recognize makeup almost feels like a life skill I didn’t have but should have been taught in school?. Like how you have to learn to read critically so you don’t fall in love with ChatGPT. Learn how to makeup critically so ads don’t make you feel bad about your face.

it’s so magical and beautiful that there are sprawling interconnected cave systems carved deep into the earth by various geological forces and you don’t have to go in them. there are miles and miles of stone passageways in total darkness that require you to exhale all the air out of your lungs to squeeze through parts of them and you don’t have to be there. some of these squeezes are underwater and require cave divers to take off their oxygen tanks and push them through ahead of them and me i am above ground looking at the sky as we speak. there are untold subterranean wonders no human has ever seen and i will not be the one to discover them #grateful #blessed
